Which is the most effective way to cure myopia naturally?

I had visited few websites which said that it some natural technique can cure myopia with 96% success rate but they insist on buying book.while some genuine websites said that there is no scientific evidence for it.So is it really worth to try them out or is it fake.
----------

When you read that there is no "scientific evidence" for something, it means that a random controlled trial with a given number of subjects has not been done, probably because no one is interested in that subject or they figure there's no money in it, so not worth the bother. Or studies have been done, it's just not in their financial interest to reveal them. Lots of room for manipulation and misrepresentation.
This is far from being the final word on something or that even large numbers of people have not benefitted from a particular form of therapy or treatment. In the case of the pharmaceutical companies, they would like nothing better than to prevent people from using anything but their products, despite horrendous side effects.
We do not all fit in the same mold. Something that works for you may not work for someone else and vice versa.
Many myopic/near-sighted people who meditate report that their vision improves. I have also read about techniques such as visualizing the letter "C" with your eyes closed, which is pretty much what happens in meditation when you close your eyes and pretend you are looking at your nose. Why would this work? Because you're stretching your eye muscles. My vision improved with meditation (went from a -4 to a -1.75). People who do a lot of reading put an undue stress on their eyes (esp. at a young age) and the eye muscles have to compensate. One researcher published a paper years ago advocating that all children should wear reading glasses to reduce the strain and that this could prevent myopia from developing. His point was that the optical industry was aware of this but made too much money selling glasses to disseminate this info. to parents and the public at large.
Any technique you employ has to be done consistently and over a period of time (nothing will be instantaneous).
Laser vision correction works by reshaping the cornea (which is sort of like cheating at the front end, instead of adressing the muscle issue).
It stands to reason that if you rely on vision correcting eyewear every day that your vision will gradually deteriorate because the eye muscles become lazy in not having to adjust themselves naturally to what you're looking at.  (+ info)

Can laser eye surgery correct myopia aka near sightedness?

Can laser eye surgery correct myopia aka near sightedness?
Does laser eye surgery last forever?
What if you have big holes in your retina from myopia?
Can laser eye surgery improve my myopia?
Can myopic people have this laser surgery?
Is there a risk for going blind from laser eye surgery?
If you do go blind for laser eye surgery is it true that it can be corrected?

Since others have already answered your question I just want to point out that there are some eye exercises as alternative that can help myopia. I have a friend who used to suffer from myopia and he managed to improve his eyesight completely with eye exercises.  (+ info)

What long term effects can I expect from scoliosis and degenerative arthritis in my spine?

I'm 20, and have been diagnosed with scoliosis and also degenerative arthritis (either rheumatoid or osteo - still have to do blood work to find out). Being as young as I am, what can I expect the future to hold for me concerning these problems?

Also, my spine apparently curves the opposite way in which it would normally go in most people (I think to the left maybe? I'm not sure, just the other way than normal).
----------

any "abnormal" curvature or formations in the spine can cause issues down the road.
with scoliosis, the alterations in alignment can cause muscle pain, weakness and further curvature if the alignment isn't corrected.
any arthritis can affect the flexibility of the spine and lead to further deterioration.

unfortunately, one probably is feeding into the other.

if scoliosis isn't corrected early with bracing, it is usually a problem later in life, when the person has significant back and leg pain.  (+ info)

Where can I buy spectacles for myopia off the shelf?

I know you get prescription glasses for hypermyopia i.e +1.0,+2.0 etc reading glasses off the shelf but I havent found any store selling prescription glasses for myopia ? Does anyone know where can I find the place?
----------

Myopia, also known as short sightness, requires a prescription from an optician,as both eyes will not identical in terms of short sightness. You can buy the frame without any lenses from any optician and save them for a later date. The lenses will be made to your prescription and therefore if you want to save money you can replace the lenses on your existing pair of glasses (it's good to have two pair of glasses).  (+ info)

I'm sorry but it's absolutely impossible to explain what to do here in the limited space of Answers. The book is 230 pages long and it's necessary to read it all . It's not difficult but there are many new things to learn and it would be totally uselles to talk about just one part of it. I had to read the book more than once to be sure I had grasped all the concepts. Now I do not need the book any more and it's actually quite easy to do this method.

You have to learn the role of accommodation in the onset of myopia and how to reduce/eliminate accommodation iin your daily life. The correct use of glasses is extremely important. You can't improve simply by using the glasses properly, but at the same time you'll never improve if you use full-prescription glasses from morning to night. You have to use undercorrections as much as possible and since your myopia is moderate, you must not use glasses to read books. If you need glasses to use the computer, use a very weak prescription. The same applies when distance is greater: avoid full-prescription glasses whenever possible and use weaker glasses instead (the shorter the distance the weaker the glasses; and the reverse: the greater the distance the stroger the glasses, but avoid the full prescription when it's not absolutely necessary).

Then there are the exercises which consists in various type of rotations. There's also the focusing exercise which may be started only three weeks after you have been doing the rotations.  (+ info)

I need to interview someone that has Degenerative disk disease for project?

I am doing a Report on diseases in my Honors Biology, and i have to interview someone with Degenerative disk disease. It would be over email, and i would keep all confidential info secret, (like your full name).

It would just be a few questions. And i would be extremely appreciative.

Also if anyone knows a website where i could interview someone with this disease, that would help too.

I don't know if I could answer many questions about it ,but I have been diagnosed with that condition  (+ info)

How can I get pain relief from a degenerative disc?

The specific degenerative disc is at L5-S1... I've been to a few doctors who have all told me to swim, stretch, and do exercises as much as possible. After about six months of doing all of these activities I still have pain. I'm just looking for any trick, tip, form of exercise, etc.
Thanks

----------

i have the same thing. degenerative disc disorder and a bulging disc at L5-S1. physical therapy helped me quite a bit as well as taking an aquaerobics class. the physical therapy also had me do my therapy in a warm pool. i went 2x per week for 6 weeks. maybe you should discuss that option with you dr. i also take 800mg ibuprofen and vicodin, but the physical therapy is what helped the most. hope you find some relief. i know how you feel  (+ info)

Can i cure myopia while wearing glasses?

Some say that in order to cure myopia i need to take off my glasses. I can't do that since i am very reliant on my glasses (my myopia is pretty severe). My glasses focus is around -6.25, can i cure my myopia?
----------

Taking off your glasses is not a "cure" for myopia, especially not at -6.25, because it would be a big strain on your eyes (and you couldn't live a normal life). However it's true that using a weaker prescription is a fundamental part of every vision therapy for myopia. Since your prescription is quite high it could take years to reduce it significantly. I found this method very helpful but it must be clearly understood that it requires a lot of commitment: http://www.amazon.com/Secret-Perfect-Vision-Prevent-Nearsightedness/dp/1556436777/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1254924159&sr=1-1  (+ info)

Does anyone know how to relieve the pain of degenerative disc disorder?

Tank Lady has been diagnosed with a mild case of degenerative disc disorder. She can feel it on a pretty regular occasion. Does anyone have any sure fire ways to relieve the discomfort that she has?
----------

degeneration of the disc normally occurs due to wear and tear beyond its ability.. the best thing is to take complete bed rest for a week and simultaneously you can have hot packs and later start some strengthening exercises for the back muscles.. avoid forward bending.. if still you are not happy try to meet a good physiotherapist  (+ info)
