an Autopsy done off a body that was drowned?

I'm becoming preoccupied with thoughts of drowning myself?

I'm a 22 year old male and for the past couple years i've been feeling more and more hopeless and depressed.
I used to reject the suicidal thoughts but now they've become a lot stronger. I live close to the sea and i cant swim and i keep thinking about jumping in and ending my life this way. My reasons are too complicated to discuss here. I need to stop thinking this way but i can't.
----------

It is your life and your choice to choose. But before you do think about it. I was in a similar position as you: constant thoughts of suicide for 2 years. It got better after some help of certain people. If you want to talk, just talk - Ill share my experience and so would you and we will keep each other up on our feet. email me at [email protected]  (+ info)

How would "hypertonic mannose" help a patent w/ "neurological dysfunction" after being revived from drowning?

If a person was drowning in tap water/fresh water (which is hypotonic) it pulls fluid out of cells and cells shrink and break and die. It also rapidly plugs the alveolar spaces and can even cause them to be detached. By giving hypertonic mannose, it can shift the fluid back to a normal balance.  (+ info)

Is it true when drowning that the person eventually feels euphoric after the initial struggling phase?

At some point the brain is hypoxic (lack of oxygen) which can give a sense of euphoria.
That's also the reason for the "choking" game that is popular for the last few years; same response.  (+ info)

Is it true that drowning is the least painful method of suicide?

I read it on here somewhere and I just wondered because I was discussing this subject in science class. Thanks all
----------

No, its pretty painful to drown. I would say the least painful would be like sleeping pills or something. I do not condone suicide though and if anyone reading this is thinking of it as an answer please go talk to someone! It is never the answer!  (+ info)

Do you think it is worse to die burning or drowning? Which is worse?

They are both bad but which would be the ultimate worst? We were talking about this in my crimonology class the other day and i was wondering what other people thought.
----------

Oh, burning by far. From what I understand (I was and EMT for a while) drowning is a moment of panic followed by a very peaceful feeling. Conversely there is nothing more painful than a burn.  (+ info)

What are the side effects of drowning?

Question Details: I know this sounds stupid, I know death is a side effect, but what if someone is pulled from the water, given CPR and taken by a helicopter to the hospital and is still alive...somewhat? What would they be experiencing?
It is sort of happening to someone I know. Someone I saved from the bottom of a lake and helped perform CPR on. I just didn't know what to expect him to be going through. He was under for 8-10 minutes. No pulse. Not breathing. Brought back to life.
