Is it possible to tattoo over scar tissue?

I am planning on getting a tattoo, but the area of my body on which I plan to get it is heavily scarred in places due to a mis-spent youth. I was just wondering: a) is it possible to tattoo over scar tissue? & b) does the scarring adversely affect the look of the tattoo in any way?
it is possible to tattoo over scars but depending on how the scar is (raised, smooth, darkly colored, jagged etc) it may or may not come out looking like the rest of the skin. also i wouldn't just go to anybody to have it done. i would only trust a extremely talented artist to tatoo over a scar because as i understand it the texture of the skin is different and somewhat more difficult to tattoo over. the best thing you can do is to consult an artist. good luck!  (+ info)

My Grandmother had difficulty breathing one night, so she called 911 and the paramedics arrived. At the hospital, the doctors discovered that she had a weak heart valve and needed to undergo open heart surgery. She will be receiving a tissue based valve. She is in her early 70's, mildly overweight and has borderline diabetes. Any information would be appreciated.

What are some signs that you have scar tissue from surgery?

I had surgery about 7 weeks ago for endometriosis and PCOS (surgery #2 actually). I'm not going into details about the surgery because if you know anything about PCOS or endometriosis, you should already know the details - it'll just keep this question from getting too wordy.
Anyway, since the surgery I've had severe pain, along with diarrhea and really bad gas every single day. Does scar tissue cause these kinds of symptoms?
The pain is just as bad as it was before the surgery & I had cysts that were nearly an inch in size on my ovary - you know those little buggers hurt like crazy.
Anyway, I know I need to see a doctor - so please don't reply with an answer that thoughtless. My doctor has a 5 month waiting list - I can't wait that long. I don't have a family doctor but there's one of those urgent care places down the street from my house. Will a doctor there know enough about my problems to actually help me? Or will I be stuck waiting for 5 months to get an appointment?
Maybe it is a bowl obstruction? It is not something that should wait so I would go to the doc asap because it can be potentially seriously.

I have had a number of surgeries for endo and scar tissue (4 going on 5). Each time at about 2-4 weeks post surgery I tend to get a partial obstruction. What happens I think is the scarring begins a few weeks after surgery. As it forms it pulls on your internal organs. It is painful and you have gas, diarrhea and sometimes vomiting.

How long does it take for a deep tissue bruising to heal?

I fell holding my son, tried catching myself and ending up bruising the deep tissue in my left arm, from hand to mid elbow. My thumb is extremely sore and it's range of motion is nearly gone compared to my right. As I said, I have a son and really want to heal asap. Any suggestions or ideas?
It can take a couple of weeks to heal. To speed up recovery, you can take meat tenderizer, dampen it so it is like paste, place it on a large band-aid that surrounds your bruise. Repeat every night and in a couple of days the bruise will be gone.

I recently had adult chicken pox and it left bright red scars that are not healing well.

I am very fair and prone to scarring even when it's a mere mosquito bite. The holes left by the pox have filled in with bright red scar tissue. I look like a victim of a drive by shooting!

I have been applying coco butter and vitamin e E oil. Is there a better home or over the counter treatment for new scare tissue? Is mederma good and is it worth the price? Any others?
I have a bottle of vitamin E oil and apply it directly to the scarred area.

How do I get rid of the scar tissue on my tongue?

Well, I got my tongue pierced about 3 weeks ago and in front of my piercing is this little tiny hard piece of scar tissue, I mean it isn't that annoying but is there anyway I can make it go away? I tried brushing it with a toothbrush and it got a little swollen for a while and went back to its same size. Will it go away naturally or what? Thanks.
There is no way I am going to take out my tongue piercing so I am going to trust the girl who said she had one but it goes away. guague your jewelry up.stretching the tissue with remove the scar tissue without much hassle and you can always shrink it back down when youre done if you dont want to keep the larger guage. See a professional piercer just incase this might be a problem.  (+ info)

I'm 16 and i got my belly button re-pierced about 2 weeks ago. The piercer i went to see pierced behind the scar tissue and about a week after a big bump showed up it really hurts when you touch it and i can't move my piercing. Does that mean my scar tissue is infected or is the tissue just getting stretched out? Thanks so much.
it might be infected. last infection i got was all red and bumpy around my bruise. it looked disgusting. you should get it checked out though  (+ info)

Very stupid, I know. I read the package of the cleaning tissue afterwards, it said not to use it on skin, and it hurts a little. I've used water, is there anything else that would help?
