this is a second tumour ,the first removed 5 years ago (size of an orange) therefore their is existing scar tissue present ,doctors in uk hesitant to operate again as dangerous to remove with normal surgery.
what are my options .other countries use proton surgery etc .does anyone have any information for me ?

Can benzocaine cause a tissue nerve block?

If too much benzocaine is left on the skin for a prolonged period of time, is it possible that it can do permanent damage to the tissue?
After i used benzocaine ive been having these weird symptoms. My whole body has felt like its a loss in sensation. I first noticed my skin wasn't the usual color. Its a little more pale. If i get cuts or scraps they barely bleed and they don't hurt at all. My teeth used to my sensitive to hot and cold temps, now i can chew ice. It very weird. I thought it was all in my head until i noticed how my skin looked. I used the benzocaine on 3 occasions, the concentration was 4%. The first time it was on my skin for awhile, so im pretty sure it was absorbed in my blood stream. I don't know whats going on, but it seems to be something systemic. I had blood work done, and that didn't show anything unusual. It seems like it has manifested in my system, but i don't think that's possible. Does anybody have a clue what might be going on?

THIS IS ONLY A TOPICAL SURFACE ANESTHETIC FOR A DEEP NERVE BLOCK WHICH A NEEDLE DELIVERS
IT WILL NEVER CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE  (+ info)

Does it really hurt to get scar tissue pierced?

I have scars from previous attempts at piercing my own belly button.
If I get it professionally pierced, will it hurt more because of the scar tissue?

Also, when i pinch the area that I tried to pierce, it takes more pressure to feel it, than anywhere else on my body. Have I lost the nerves or something there?
----------

The first time I got my bellybutton done it didn't really hurt at all, but it got infected and I had to take it out. When I went to get it redone it hurt WAY more, even though my actual scar tissue wasn't sensitive. I think it was probably because she had to push harder to get it through again.

Either way you know it's worth it ;) so good luck!  (+ info)

Can massage therapists break down scar tissue in the neck around the spine?

thats wher ei have a lot of crunchy scar tissue and its pinching my nerves and causing numbness. i KNOW this crunchy tissue after my whiplash injury is causing all these muscle spasms and tingling. but its dangerous ive heard to massage deeply around this area. what can i do?
----------

lyoui have made some assumptions. why do you know it is scar tissue? have you had an MRI? what do yo mean by numbess? down your arms? in your hands? Masage that deep may cause problems, but if yo see a therapist, go to one that has had alot of experience. You might want to check out Rolfing.  (+ info)

I have Post laminectomy syndrome. Its scar tissue in and around the nerves does anyone know what can be done?

I have terrible pain in my back and right leg. What can be done besides injections.
----------

Jeff,

Go to a top specialist. This is a tough situation- I'm not sure what can be done outside of pain meds. You are assuming it is scar tissue around the nerve- right...maybe it is, maybe that is causing your pain- but maybe not. That is the easy answer. The back is a mystery. The genesis of pain is elusive. I think in the future new diagnostic technologies will offer a better glimpse into this mysterious and complicated world. The glimmer of hope is that scientists are continuing research that can offer real relief and new therapies so hang in there and always keep on top of the latest research and seek out experts e.g. The Mayo Clinic. Do not accept one size fit all diagnosis.  (+ info)

My hands grow cold and feel like pins and needles after a deep tissue massage. Does anyone know why?

I have carpel tunnel and bulding disk, but no spinal cord injuries or pinched nerves. Is this normal after a massage with my condtions? The massages really help my back.
----------

The pins and needles feeling can be a nerve response from the work that you receive. With carpal tunnel syndrome, it is common that a person has developed a few areas of nerve impingement or entrapment from the neck to the wrist on the affected side. A bulging disc anywhere in the lower cervical spine (neck) can help lead to these symptoms. If your therapist does not already do this, then ask her/him to give attention to these muscles: sternocleidomastoid, anterior scalenes, pectoralis major and minor, biceps brachii and pronator teres. If your therapist already spends some time in these areas then you should complement the work with daily stretching in the same areas. If, however, your therapist does not know these muscles or how to specifically work with them, then it is time to find a new therapist.  (+ info)
