How much longer do I bake banana nut bread if I'm cooking more than one at a time?

I'm baking my gifts for Christmas this year and I want to be able to bake more than one thing at a time. I have three loave pans. I am baking banana nut bread. I'm wonder if you need to increase the amount of time it takes when you have more than one pan in the oven?
----------

Should be the same amount of time as long as your oven isn't overloaded. The oven will compensate and maintain the temperature you set.  (+ info)

Can I use a chocolate chip cookie recipe to make macadamia nut cookies?

It seems like I could just switch the chocolate chips for macadamia nuts. I've never made macadamia nut cookies before, so I don't know if they have their own recipes or not. If you know any good ones that you want to share, I'd appreciate it.
----------

I would suggest getting a Macadamia nut cookie recipe because the dough for Macadamia cookies is flavored with pineapple juice and makes a big difference.  (+ info)

What is a safe brand of Ice cream for people with nut allergens?

If you are someone with a nut allergy or know someone with one, what kind of ice cream is safe to eat for you or those people? I'm having someone over and would like to know what is safe for them.
----------

My son has nut allergies, I just buy anything. Its funny though, i am so careful on what I buy but ice cream! I have gone to the point of calling manufacturers about nuts on their machinery and never though to call a place that makes ice cream. Good question!
Purchase vanilla and leave it up to the guest to eat it or not. My son gets very upset if I bring it up. Just read the labels, its the only thing anyone can do.  (+ info)

How much will eating Honey Nut Cheerios lower my cholesterol?

I've been seeing a lot of commercials lately that eating Honey Nut Cheerios lowers cholesterol. How many points will it lower it and for how long should I eat it to start seeing the results? Does it make a difference if I use whole milk or skim milk?
----------

Dry cereals are a very bad deal -- both economical and nutritionally. They so nothing for the intestinal tract and are over inflated as to price. They so not give necessary bulk, Cooked rolled oats, brown rice or millet would be much better for what U want a cereal to do.  (+ info)

How can I make a nut free marzipan?

My sister is deathly allergic to tree nuts (all nuts accept peanuts). Is there any recipies you know of that are nut free of marzipan? And is there anything else I should use instead? I am going to be making a mini soccer ball, mini ipod, mini shopping bag, mini make up, and so on all for my friends b-day cake! PLEASE HELP!!!
Any recipies with out strange ingredients? ex: Semolina????
----------

Use fondant instead. No nuts and you can make figures with it.

http://whatscookingamerica.net/PegW/Fondant.htm This is an easy recipe, marshmallows, powdered sugar and water. It will not taste as good as marzipan but it won't send your sister running for an epi-pen either.  (+ info)

How do you make soft baked macadamia nut cookies?

I've had them from Subway, but I don't want to pay for cookies everytime I want one. I've made the cookies before, but they always come out crunchy. I hate crunchy cookies. It doesn't necesarily have to be macadamia nut any soft baked cookie will do. But I want them soft like the entenmann's soft baked cookies.
----------

A good way to keep your cookies chewy and moist is to use more brown sugar than white. In the recipe you are using there is likely an equal amount of both. You can replace all of the white sugar and use all brown sugar. This will affect the taste slightly but I find the change almost unnoticeable. Another thing you can do is (assuming the recipe calls for 2 eggs) put in both egg yolks and replace one of the egg whites with 2 tablespoons of milk. Egg whites are a very drying ingredient and replacing one of the two with milk will give you extra moisture.

I always bake one sheet of cookies at a time. It may take a little longer, but I feel I get better results this way. Experiment with different baking times as well or even tweak the oven temperature. You may have a hot spot or the temperature may night be quite right.

(I LOVE baking!)

Also, use parchment paper! This may not affect the chewy factor, but it is AWESOME!  (+ info)
