----------

When your cervix starts to dial ate you will start to loose your mucus plug. So if you go into early labor there is a good chance some of your plug will come out.  (+ info)

35 weeks pregnant with pressure down below and nausea. Could this be premature labor?

I am 35 weeks pregnant. I have been feeling alot of pressure down below over the past 2 weeks or so and have been feeling nausiated for the last couple of days. Although this is my 3rd pregnancy, I was induced with my 1st which was followed by an emergency c-section, and my 2nd was an elective c-section, so I don't really know what it's like to actually go into labor. What could be happening? Should I see a doctor? Would appreciate your advice. Thanks.
----------

Sounds like your baby is dropping or has dropped. Most generally it's not a concern. That's what they're supposed to do. But it wouldn't hurt to call and speak to your doctor for that extra reassurance.  (+ info)

i am 22 weeks bedridden with premature labor, should i have bloodwork to rule out infections?

4th pregnancy, last one was 12 years ago! 36years young, job as a chiro assist on feet 10 hrs a day, very active homelife with children in sports, just getting my sex drive back. why is this happening?
----------

You are as some doctors say "mature" to be carrying another child and it is harder on your body. Try to take it easy, your body is in overdrive. I would have a test done for infection though.  (+ info)

17P injections to prevent premature labor?

Has anyone had these?
Want to share any info? Side effects, etc?

A nurse w/ my insurance company just called me to enroll me in a healthy pregnancy program. After going over my medical info she suggested I ask my doctor about the 17P injections today and said I was a good candidate. I've never heard of it so I'm just curious. Thanks!

Here's a link to a doctor blogging about it...

It looks like many ladies are posting questions about it and he's giving pretty informative answers.

I'll keep looking

Would you refuse to take Brethine for premature labor?

I am 34 weeks pregnant and have been taking Brethine as needed since week 28 for contractions. There was NO dialating at that point, just a close pattern of contractions. I stopped taking it since it makes the baby's movements seem frantic. I had to take it again last night when I had INTENSE contractions that were 3-5 minutes apart. I DO NOT want to take this medicine anymore and would prefer something less harsh for the baby. Do I have a right to refuse to take this medicine? Would you?
Maybe I should clarify this for everyone. I am NOT against taking medicine to halt labor, but this medicine feels like its doing horrible things to my baby. It IS NOT approved by the FDA for this use, although most doctors use it to stop labor. (its primarily used to treat asthma attacks) Can I ask for other options, or should I just deal with it?
----------

Personally I wouldn't refuse it.

1) Trust your doctor--they know more than you think they do.

2) To get the best possible life for your baby, the longer she stays in the better. Personally I would rather KNOW that she's safe in my womb than risk preterm labor.  (+ info)
