Ochronosis from hydroquinone; other skin lightners?

I had been using hydroquinone to fade scars left from lichen planus and i noticed that two small spots got darker around the inner thigh area, whch is ochronosis! i know putting more hydroquinone on those areas will not solve the problem so i will stop using hydroquinone all together. What effective skin-lightening creams (hydroquinone free) will help me to fade the lichen planus scars as well as the ochronosis?

my freind bleaches her skin please help me!!!?

hi.. ok so.. recently ive noticed my freind natalie (who is a mixed girl ) has somewhat reddish looking skin... when i asked her she said she got a sunburn from a pool party so ... i said ok...but when we were spending the evening at her brother's apartment..i saw her using something that had 'skin bleaching cream' on it... i asked her and we talked about it and she says she's been doing it for a while and she even cried. i felt so sorry for her. she says she doenst like her skin and feels it is too dark. but she isnt even black or anything, she's tan-like.. i researched it and it said that those things cause skin cancer and what not and i read about something called " ochronosis" where the skin gets darker than before and thats what i used to discourage her from doing it!! but she's barely even listening to me and im so scared for her.. she said shes doing it for almost a year now, and im shocked cause i had no clue before. i feel so stupid. anyway is it too late for her? is her skin damaged?? she just looks reddish and not like the pics i saw online but i am so worried she may have skin cancer or something and not know god please someone advise me on what to do.... i really care about her she is like my sister.. sorry its so long i just care about her.. i will give 10 points

I think it's the cream that's making her go red..
Tell her, what's the point of continuing to use the cream if all it does is make it go red, and not white?

I am light tanned Asian, and I am craving pale white skin like your friend.
It's mostly because of the media that show these beautiful Asian woman with pale white skin, and guys like that, which is why I want to acheive that kind of skin colour.

I've been doing this for months, and I've seen a significant change after using home remedies to whiten my skin NATURALLY, without harming it.
Factors include like, drinking plenty of water, cleansing the face daily, being hygenic, eating right, maintainig a healthy diet, exfoliating the skin once the week, twice the maximum any more would rub off the skin instead of the dead skin cells. You can make your own exfoliators at home, it's just a google away. What I use to exfoliate is honey, olive oil, and sugar. Just google how much of each you should add, and it will benefit your skin. Use gentle cleansers for every other day that you don't exfoliate. Moisturizing every day is a must as well. After you wash your face in the morning, and at night.

There's much more natural ways to whiten your skin, but that's what I do and I've seen the change. My skin is more paler, but still noticably tan. I'm not going to ruin my skin by using products like those. I was born with this skin. Not only did it whiten my skin, but it cleared my face of acne and all that jazz.

Buying her better moisturers for her face and skin would be good too. If she's not satisfied with the results, it's all about her confidence. You just gotta support her and show her that you really care to restrain her from using cancer causing skin products.

In my opinion, natural is better than fake. It also applies to this case, your friend was born with her natural pretty skin colour. Don't let her ruin it!!
I wanted to become paler too, as I said before. But my boyfriend said that he liked tanned skin, which made me not care anymore about whitening my skin.
If your friend really values your opinion she would listen to you, if you don't think it would ruin your relationship with her you could tell her best, closest friend or boyfriend if she has one that she is beautiful the way she is.

Confidence plays a big role in your problem with her skin. Good-luck.
(P.S. I had to rewrite this twice because I clicked the back button by accident.. !! >_<)  (+ info)

She probably doesn't have skin cancer now, I think it's more of a thing that hits you later in life, not in the moment. It is a really stupid thing to do though, most things dealing with trying to change your skin color are. So if you've already talked to her and she didn't really seem to bother doing anything about it, I think you should really try again, and of course in person. Just try telling her again how serious it is, and how badly it could affect her health. Make sure she knows how serious you are about it for her. You might want to try saying to her in a friendly way to that it's only making her red skin, so would she rather be really red or a tad bit on the dark side? Just make sure she knows how serious you are, maybe show her some research you found on the topic. Hope this helps :)  (+ info)
