Can you get pregnant with low sperm motility but high sperm count?

My husband got his 3 sperm analysis report back and the count increased from 68 to 78, however the motility is still low (25). Has anyone gotten pregnant with high count and low motility?
----------

Yes. It's all a numbers game, and all you need is one.

If you're having troubles, consider aides like preseed (sperm friendly lube great for the motility). Also try to make sure you orgasm during sex, and stay laying down for at least 20 minutes afterward to give them time to liquefy and move into the cervix.

If you find this doesn't work, you might want to try looking into using instead cups (available in some drug stores and online). You can insert them after sex and they will keep all the sperm up by your cervix for up to 12 hours, allowing many more sperm to make the journey.

Good luck!  (+ info)

How to increase the sperm motility of a male?

How to increase the sperm motility of a male?
----------

My husband saw an increase in his counts and motility when he changed his diet to include more healthy choices and less junk food, started exercising regularly and lost 30 lbs. He also started taking a men's multi-vitamin. Switched to wearing boxer shorts and stopped taking hot baths / using hot tubs as excessive heat has been shown to destroy the sperm.

Here are some natural things you could try - Conceive Magazine ran an article on "Fertility Foods for Guys"- maybe it will help (and it definitely won't hurt).

1) Brightly colored fruits and veggies - rich in antioxidants
2) Oranges & citrus fruits - Vitamin C reduces risk of damaged sperm
3) Watermelon - good source of lycopene
4) Pumpkin seeds and baked beans - rich in zinc
5) Lean meat and poultry - rich in L-carnitine for sperm movement / motility

They also said to avoid soy which may lead to poor sperm quality and alcohol which can lower testosterone.

Caffeine can go either way - three or more drinks a day may hamper fertility but other studes show that caffeine "may" help with a low sperm count

Good luck!  (+ info)

What is the best method of measuring ocular pressure?

I have been having mine tested for several years now as they are higher than average but no damage so far. I have had 2 methods used one the "puff "test and another putting something onto the eyeball.

Any suggestions on different methods of reducing ocular pressure and general advice?. Many thanks in advance.
Many thanks for so many careful replies, particularly MrsSSG B Jennifer cheeky etc.Of course I will follow what the specialist says but it is really nice to hear from some people who are associated with optometry
cheeky, your :"Intense physical exertion is known to reduce intraocular pressure" link was very interesting

"There are several methods of testing for glaucoma.

The applanation method measures the force required to flatten a certain area of the cornea. A fine strip of paper stained with orange dye is touched to the side of the eye. The dye stains the front of the eye to help with the examination, then rinses out with tears. An anesthetic drop is also placed in the eye.

The slit-lamp is placed in front of you and you rest your chin and forehead on a support that keeps your head steady. The lamp is moved forward until the tonometer touches the cornea. The light is usually a blue circle. The health care provider looks through the eyepiece on the lamp and adjusts the tension on the tonometer. There is no discomfort associated with the test.

A slightly different method of applanation uses an object similar to pencil. Again, you are given numbing eye drops to prevent any discomfort. The device touches the outside of the eye and instantly records eye pressure.

The last method is the noncontact method (air puff). In this method, your chin rests on a padded stand. You stare straight into the examining device. The eye doctor shines a bright light into your eye to properly line up the instrument, and then delivers a brief puff of air at your eye. The machine measures eye pressure by looking at how the light reflections change as the air hits the eye." http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003447.htm

There is a correlation between intraocular pressure and corneal thickness that makes an individual's intraocular pressure higher or lower from the "normal" range.

The Glaucoma community has denounced the use of marijuana as a medical treatment for high intraocular pressures. PrinceIdoc covered this in another post.

The only way to 'reduce' intraocular pressure is through prescription medications prescribed by your eye doctor.

The best advice I can give is to follow and work closely with your eye doctor for any other signs of glaucoma or damage from increased intraocular pressures.

There is no way you can treat intraocular pressure yourself, only to keep up with your eye health management with your eye doctor.  (+ info)

What do you think is the best fertility supplement to increase sperm count, sperm motility and sperm quality?

What do you think is the best fertility supplement to increase sperm count, sperm motility and sperm quality (FertilAid Male, etc )
----------

Vitamin C and Zinc.
Vitamin C to stop them clumping and sticking together and Zinc to increase testosterone levels, sperm count and motility.

I've also heard that Selenium is excellent!

Most importantly though your partner should advoid "hot pants"! Tight trousers, underwear, laptops. ;-)

Lots of baby dust to you!  (+ info)

How can a person tell if they have ocular herpes? What signs are visible? Is there any treatment?

If there are so many ppl that have the disease why is it never spoken about? From reading various articles there are so many people with herpes. Is there a treatment for the ocular herpes to prevent blindness?
----------

Ocular herpes are basically fluid-filled fever blisters on and around the eye. They are very painful. There are medications to treat an outbreak and medications to help prevent outbreaks, but there is no cure.  (+ info)

Can two puffs of Marijuanna per month cause slow sperm motility?

Can two puffs of Marijuanna per month cause slow sperm motility?
My husband takes one puff of Marijuanna smoke every 2 weeks..Can this cause slow motility? Trying to have a baby.
----------

No way! Two Puffs a month is nothing. It sounds like your husband is a very smart man, who really knows how to control himself. That shouldn't have any effect on his sperm count. Maybe 2 JOINTS a day could, but 2 hits is fine.  (+ info)

Husband has very low sperm count and motility. Any ideas or stories of similar experience?

We have been TTC for 12 months. I am perfectly fine, but his sperm count is only 7MM and motility 25%. We are waiting for his urologist to say what could have caused this. Any similar experiences? Our next step shoudl IUI and then IVR.
I forgot to say that husband is in shape, no tight underwear, no alcohol, smoking or unhelathy food, so those are not the issues.
----------
