Internal opthalmoplegia is paralysis of the internal muscles of the eye. The result is loss of accommodation (inability to adjust focus) and permanently dilated pupils (sensitivity to light). The condition is often associated with neurological illnesses. It might be caused by multiple sclerosis,meningitis, stroke, drug overdose, or one of a number of neurological disorders.
