My 8 week old has umbilical granuloma.? Does anyone have advice for treatment other than silver nitrate?

She has been treated once with the silver nitrate and it seems to have made it worse. I have heard of a salt treatment, had anyone found this treatment successful?

Your primary care physician or a dermatologist may wish to treat it with indinavir. This works for both paronychia and pyogenic granulomas of the great toe.

A granuloma appeared on my middle finger about six months ago following a deep splinter. It quickly grew to the size of a dime within the period of a month. My doctor had a biopsy done and unsuccessfully curetted and cauterized it.

After that, I tried freezing it (myself) with liquid nitrogen several times, with no luck. Finally, I have been burning it with a magnifying glass every third day for the past two weeks and now it appears to be almost completely gone.

I am not blackening the skin during this procedure, just heating it until I can't stand the pain. The granuloma immediately began drying out and the bulk of it fell off after the first two treatments.

Could this treatment cause skin cancer?

A granuloma annulaire, if properly diagnosed is just an area on your body that has had repeated mild traumas to it. If left alone it will eventually go away in about 1-2 years. If you have a severe case, PUVA therapy may be prescribed or a physician could inject steroids under the area or give you a dose of oral steroids. With mine, only time worked. Doesn't it mean pathology around the tip of the root of a tooth?

Periapical means "around the top of" and I think in the context you use it it refers to the root of a tooth, so where there is an abscess or bone loss or something like that.  (+ info)

Anyone have any tips on how to get rid of these spots?! My dermatologist recommended steroid injections as a last result. Has anyone done this? Ive tried the steroid cremes and its done NOTHING.

Also, anyone have any clue how long this lasts?! It been about 7 months for me. UGH. I hate it!
