Have you ever suffered form Red eye also known as bloodshot eye?

Or conjunctivis. My brother has got it due too spending too much time looking at the computer screen you can also get it from lack of sleep can't you.I ain't got it but have had it before.
Are any of these symptoms recognisable to you:
Blurry vision
Severe pain
Photophobia
Coloured halos
----------

Does your brother use glasses? If not maybe if he has this condition from excessive computer use he should visit an optician for an eye test. He may be prescribed glasses to wear when using his computer or watching television. Meanwhile he should rest his eyes and switch the damn thing off.

Try a cold pack on the eyes, slices of cucumber or damp teabags. The redness is caused by irritated blood vessels and the eyes lack of moisture - so the above treatment helps to relax and rehydrate the eye.

Coloured halos are not a good sign. This could be due to pressure and is a symptom of Glaucoma, so it needs to be checked out ASAP. Glaucoma causes blindness if not caught in time.  (+ info)

Is there a term for Sensitivity to sound?

Is there a term for sensitivity to sound? I know that sensitivity to light is called photophobia, is there a term like that for sensitivity to sound?
photophobia is actually a medical term usually confused with the "fear" of light but is the term for a sensitivity to light.
----------

Photophobia is a fear of light.
Likewise, a fear of loud sounds is phonophobia.

There's a medical condition called hyperacusis -- something is wrong with the ear itself, or the auditory receptors of the brain, so that ordinary sounds seem to be extraordinarily loud.
It it's most severe form it's called "recruitment" -- a sound becomes magnified by the ear so it echoes or reverberates inside the head and becomes much louder than the original sound.  (+ info)

is there anyone out there who is familiar with a corneal degenerate disease called keratoconus?

i've done extensive research on the internet as well as telephone calls to various eye/corneal specialists, to question as to why it is that when i use marijuana on a regular basis i have less irritation caused by the double contact lenses i wear and alleviates my sensitivity to light to where i can bare going outside during daylight hours as when i dont use it regularily i have excessively tearring in my eyes.(WATERY EYES) thats just the one eye i have somewat corrected vision in and as for the other eye, left, i had a cornea transplant in and it does the same with the light sensitivity as i've been diagnosed with photophobia. also i've noticed that my contacts seem to fit quite better & that i'm able to tolerate the wearing of the RGP lense wit a soft lens under it. i just need a honest medical opinion or factual; basis description of the link with marijuana and keratoconus in regards to wat i've explained. and all others i talk to say its all in my head and i know it is not
----------

Marijuana reduces corneal sensitivity. It also affects eye by dialting the pupils. You experience flare and glare when u use marijuana is because the RGP lens you wear on top of soft lens (piggy back contact lens fitting) has a smaller diameter and when your pupils are dilated, you experience photophobia.

As marijuana reduces corneal sensitivity, you do not feel contact lens on eye and so there is less watering.  (+ info)

Does migraine aura predict migraine pain?

I get ALL the migraine aura symptoms, but last night was VERY intense and the first time I've had the classic electric-white, pulsing, moving, zig-zag wavy lines along with the mood swings, photophobia, phonophobia and muscle weakness. Frankly, I was a bit scared I was having a stroke.

When i get that i take tablets immediately to try and keep it at bay.  (+ info)

What is strabismus? Do I need surgery?

I have been diagnosed with intermittent exotropia. I can control my eyes and make them converge on the same location, but it requires effort and I frequently have eyestrain and photophobia. The doctor told me my deviation is 15 degrees in each eye and that it is more apparent when I am looking at things up close rather than at a distance. The ophthalmologist recommended surgery. I am just curious about what counts as "moderate" exotropia. Is 15 degrees a large deviation?

Thanks!
----------

In very simple terms strabismus is also known as cross-eyed. It is where your eyes "look at each other". I found a great website that can answer any question you have even about when to get it corrected. good luck!

Why does Edgar Davids wear dark glasses?

Is it photophobia and what diseases cause this? I have got it in my left eye after an infection (photophobia). Does it go away?
----------

I can't remember what is he suffering from. But he can't let air & sunlight get directly in touch with his eyes. That's why he's wearing sunglasses for protection. If not, he'll have eye irritations.  (+ info)

Please i need help I have been having stiffneck with headches and slight pressure at the back of my head,?

I still feel slightly dizzy with backpains and a little photophobia.I also notice slight numbness on my palms/figers with tingling sensations which is not constant but comes and goes
----------

Sounds like a migraine variant.

See your family doctor and ask for a neurology consult.  (+ info)

do you think that's still MIGRAINE if you don't have ALL of the symptoms?

What do you think?

One sided headache with a throbbing pain that lasts about three days or more (the first being the most painful). A very localized pain that sometimes connects with the neck and eye. It gets worse with movement and efforts.

No nausea, no vomiting, no photophobia, no phonophobia.

I already went to the doc, an on duty doctor, he told me it's possibly a migraine. He said I should see my family doctor to keep track of it and have a more accurate diagnose. He told me that I might be asked to keep a diary about the headaches.
I don't drink coffee. I have a healthy diet and I excercise 3 times a week. That means aerobic excercise and pilates.
