What complications are there if trisomy 13 is found but confined to the placenta?

I know all the terms like patau syndrome and mosaicism just being in the placental tissue. I'm not looking for a definition or explanation of how or why it happens. I am trying to figure out what complications it can present.I know the baby is fine and its just mosaicism in placenta.

What are possible complications of having a tracheostomy tube in place?

What are possible complications of having a tracheostomy tube in place?
A. The air in the lungs may become excessively moist, and more bacteria may enter the trachea.
B. The air in the lungs may become excessively moist, and fewer bacteria may enter the trachea.
C. The air in the lungs may become drier, and more bacteria may enter the trachea.
D. The air in the lungs may become drier, and fewer bacteria may enter the trachea.

THANK YOU!
----------

Actually most people with trachs need their O2 to be humidified with sterile saline or else their respiratory tract will dry out. So I guess you have to evaluate whether this question is taking that intervention into consideration. Of course having the system open to the environment runs the risk of bacterial infiltration.  (+ info)

What are the complications if a person has nephrotic syndrome and gets cancer?

My wife has nephrotic syndrome (a kidney disease) and the doctor, due to recent blood test findings, believes she has cancer. Are there any complications that could come from having the syndrome and having to now fight cancer.
----------

This is a dillematic situation - so far that I can say. Kidney cancer is a rare type of cancer. To treat cancer, doctor would suggest chemo/radiation/surgery... depends on the stage.

Does the disease affect both kidneys or only one? All chemo drugs are very strong, I'm afraid cannot be applied to your wife, given that her kidney is the one who has problem.

However, I believe that your doctor will know the best of her condition, hence can determine best treatment (maybe kidney transplantation?). '

In the mean time, it's important that your wife change to a healthy lifestyle, healthy food and enough rest. Good luck.  (+ info)

What are the chances of death and complications of gastric bypass?

What are the chances of death and complications for me getting gastric bypass surgery? I already know I'm getting it and I'm about to go through therapy. Here are some details that might be of help:
• I'm 15.
• I'm 330lbs.
• I'm 6'5".

Please give me an estimate on what my chances of death or major complications are! I really want to know!
----------

The chances of death during gastric bypass surgery are very slim. The procedure is very safe. Every patient is different, so the chances or complications will differ. Much of it will have to do with what shape you are in prior to the surgery. Your doctor will take all of that into consideration and will tell you what complications can arise. At your age they may not even consider the surgery. Your body is going through a lot of changes.

See your doctor and have him/her refer you to a bariatric surgeon. The surgeon will determine if you are a good candidate and will probably put you on a weigh loss program first. The process from the time of your initial consultation and when the surgery takes place can be several months.

I had a gastric bypass three years ago and now head the local support group for weight loss patients. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Anyone had complications after they had a surgical abortion?

I had a surgical abortion and had many complications afterwards. I just want to know if anyone else on here has had complications as well, or their stories of it. Please no rude or hateful answers, abortion is a very sensitive subject to any woman. Im not looking for haters, i just want answers.
----------

I'm sorry that you had complications, and I hope that you've been able to get good care. I'm sorry, too, that some people here are so judgmental and rude.

While I do not personally know anyone who has had complications, they do happen. While generally rare, they can be devastating. I hope you find what you're looking for.  (+ info)

I have a five week pregnant, and all complications started at the end of week four. I vomit morning, daytime and evening. I dont like to eat any food or take any drink and I hate any kind kitchen smells.
----------

Yep, this is not a complication. This is a pregnancy. Stomach upset is normal.

Try eating saltine crackers, salad crackers, potato chips, tortilla chips, ginger snaps, dry toast, or baked potato. Try drinking ginger ale, 7up, or water. It should pass in about 3 months!  (+ info)

What type of Multiple Sclerosis complications can you die from?

I have MS. I know that MS does not cause death. I have heard of people dying from complications of MS. What kind of complications? I have done a search online, but it is very vague.
----------

Hi Diamond, The complications that we can die from are dehydration and malnutrition. If a person is unable or unwilling to take care of themselves and family or the state does not step in...........

The consequences of inactivity also can be fatal. Infected bedsores, stasis pneumonia and heart attacks take some of us.

Kidney failure can happen as a result of urine retention. Those of who cannot entirely empty the kidneys are far more more prone to bladder infections. This is turn leads to kidney problems and failure.

Depression for some culminates in suicide.

That is about all that I can come up with. You might want to go to the website http://www.multiplesclerosissucks.com
for a more in depth explanation.  (+ info)

What are some complications with vaccinating your baby?

I have been haring a lot about vaccinations causing autism and other disabilities in children, particularly babies, recently. I am not a parent yet, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced complications with vaccinating or if they know of someone who has, so I can know more about it for the future.
I plan on researching it more thoroughly if I ever do have children, though.
----------

I have a child with Autsim who is 13 years old. I sincerely believe that the culprit was all the immunizations he went thru.

I would strongly encourage parents not to have their child immunized until after thier 2nd birthday. A child under 2 has a quickly developing brain and whenever high levels of thirmesol (ingredient in vaccines) is pumped into a child that may already be overly sensitive to leads or mercury will cause problems such as ADHD, and Autism, etc.  (+ info)
