If they attribute precocious puberty to animal growth hormones, will eating those foods make my bust larger?

So foods such as non-organic milk contain animal hormones, and the hormones given to the animals, and a lot of scientists attribute this to an epidemic of early puberty. Also, as the chest size gets bigger with our consumption of these foods, would it be wrong to assume that eating foods containing animal hormones would make your chest bigger? So if I had like a half-liter a day of non-organic milk, would it be possible that my breasts would get larger?
----------

The hormones in these foods aren't that strong, so doing so would take quite a while. You can try taking hormones, birth control, or herbs that contain phyotoestrogen which mimic the effects of real estrogen on the body. These are the only ones I heard of besides gaining weight, surgery, and pregnacy.  (+ info)

If you had precocious puberty as a child, will that affect your health as an adult?

I suffered from a form of pseudo-precocious puberty as a little girl. Breasts started developing at the age of five, but no pubic hair until 9 or 10. This was very hard on me in childhood. But, what I want to know is can you have heart disease, arthritis, etc early as an adult? I've had high blood pressure since i was 18.

i dont think so  (+ info)

How much taller would you get if you're 15, 5'0 and was treated for precocious puberty?

My sister is wondering if she will get any taller and if there is a way to do so/
----------

Precocious puberty is early puberty. Kids with precocious puberty usually stop growing earlier than kids who go through puberty at a normal age. I hit puberty at 8, and stopped growing when I was 12. I'm an adult now and still 5'3". I was not treated for it though.

I don't think there's any way to make her taller.  (+ info)

What are the causes of precocious puberty?

Usually precocious puberty is idiopathic (unknown cause). In some instances, it is due to an endocrine disorder. Cerebral precocious puberty is associated with a brain abnormality.
Most patients, particularly girls suspected of having CPP, are otherwise healthy children whose pubertal maturation begins at the early end of the normal distribution curve. CNS imaging studies of these otherwise healthy 6- to 8-year-old girls usually reveal no structural abnormalities. A 2002 study of 200 girls in France found abnormal brain imaging findings in 2% of girls whose onset of puberty was between age 6 and 8 years and in 20% of girls whose onset of puberty was before age 6 years.1 A smaller 2003 study from the United Kingdom reported abnormal findings in 15% of 67 girls.2 Abnormal CT scan or MRI findings are more frequent among boys with CPP than among girls with CPP.  (+ info)

What is precocious puberty and what are the symptoms?

Precocious puberty - the onset of signs of puberty before age 7 or 8 in girls and age 9 in boys - can be physically and emotionally difficult for children and can sometimes be the sign of an underlying health problem.

In girls, the telltale signs of precocious puberty include any of the following before 7 or 8 years of age:

* breast development
* pubic or underarm hair development
* rapid height growth - a growth "spurt"
* onset of menstruation
* acne
* "mature" body odor

In boys, the signs of precocious puberty before 9 years of age include:

* enlargement of the testicles or penis
* pubic, underarm, or facial hair development
* rapid height growth - a growth "spurt"
* voice deepening
* acne
* "mature" body odor

This is happening more and more often now. It is now COMMON for 8 year old girls to start menstruating.  (+ info)

Is there any treatment for precocious puberty?

Reason being,
I've been my height since 7th grade (12-13 y.o.) I am in 11th grade now (17 y.o.) Hit puberty when I was 11.
----------

Your puberty is pretty much nearly over. Especially since you haven't grown since grade 7, you will not grow again.
There is no treatment for growing, other than exercising or having a balanced diet. Don't worry  (+ info)

Has anyone here taken Lupron for Precocious puberty, is now an adult and have unexplicable symptoms?

I don't think the class action law suit was enough. It wasn't enough to take care of all these weird symptoms that I'm experiencing now as an adult, visual problems, fatigue etc.
Yeah, and THAT is how toxic it was!
Didn't answer my question :)
----------

Prostate tumors like testosterone, and the cancer medication defeats the production of testosterone so the tumor won't grow. This leads to secondary symptoms such as growth of breast tissue (but beats dying anyday!) Women also have testosterone (but balanced with estrogen and progesterone), and maybe that's what causes precocious puberty, but I'm guessing.  (+ info)

is there any bad side to precocious puberty?

well i know a bad thing about precocious puberty is obviously starting it early, but what bad things can come out of it? a girl i know said that her sister is really ill/maybe dying because of her condition (precocious puberty) but i dont understand how she could be really ill or dying from a such thing as starting puberty early.

many thankss

Puberty triggers other bodily changes so early puberty can lead to early closure of the epiphyses (the growth plates at the ends of bones) leading to a shorter stature. It also means that you develop emotionally out of phase with your peers which can make relationships difficult. The child may not have developed socially and so may find it even more difficult to handle early feelings of sexuality and may be coerced into very early sex with devastating consequences - a mother at 10!  (+ info)
