How hard would you have to hit your head to have a brain hemorrhage?

I hit my head with the car door, but not very hard, and i'm a little worried about having one.
----------

it is probably nothing serious but if it doesn't go away for a while you might want to ask someone about it, I hope it's nothing serious my sister had leukemia and I went with her to the
saint Jude's hospital and I saw a little girl with a brain tumor in her head and I hope that you won't have to go through the pain she had to go through. but as I said before it's probably nothing serious but I'll be praying for you.  (+ info)

Is it ok to work out if I have a Subconjunctival Hemorrhage or Popped eye vessel?

There's a significant pool of blood in my eye, much like the pic on Wikipedia. I want to go to the gym and run and lift weights but I'm scared that strain can cause the blood vessel to re-rupture. Someone please help!
----------

The blood per se, doesn't do any harm, just looks so nice. How you got the hemorrhage in the first place. If it's a spontaneous hemorrhage, you somehow blew a vessel from too much pressure. Doesn't mean too much as long as you have an idea about it. Drugs, like aspirin, motrin, etc. or medications that 'think' the blood like coumadin can cause you to bleed MORE than you would, but don't CAUSE you to bleed. Just takes a little longer to clot.

If you don't "hold your breath" while lifting, you probably won't bleed more. But you could. And it doesn't make any difference as it is a benign condition.  (+ info)

Should I continue to life weights when I have a small subconjunctival hemorrhage?

I believe strenuous exercise caused a blood vessel to burst underneath my conjunctiva. Now there is a distinct red spot on my eye. Does this mean I have to stop working out? It might get worse if I continue to do so?

experiencing an acute hemorrhage what is the initial compensatory mechanism of the peripheral circulation and?

when experiencing an acute hemorrhage what is the initial compensatory mechanism of the peripheral circulation and the kidneys. Please help. cannot find info on this anywhere.
----------

Peripheral circulation will slow (through constriction of vessels) to help keep the blood in the belly, chest and brain in order to preserve life.
I think that's what you're asking lol.
But really, you should do your own homework.  (+ info)

My aunty has had a brain hemorrhage what will happen?

My aunty has just been rushed into the hospital because she has had a sudden brain hemorrhage
Now for my questions..
What is a Brain Hemorrhage?
Will she survive it?
What will happen to my Aunty at the hospital?
What will the result of a brain hemorrhage be?
Is she likely to be paralized ?
Help please x
thankyou
----------

A brain hemorrhage is a spontaneous aneurysm( a blood Vestel that brakes) or from a traumatic event that causes bleeding in the brain. The bleeding causes intracranial pressure. Meaning the bleeding basically pushes against the brain. However it depends on where the bleed in the brain is on what the out come may be. She will likely survive if it was caught early and is not very large and causing respiratory depression (slow breathing) or slowed heart rate. Even then if caught early, surgery performed to release the pressure she could fair quite well. Surgery is quite likely if the bleed is large enough to need it. Sometimes if the bleed is small they will just evaluate her for a couple days and do more CT scans to make sure its not getting bigger. As far as results of a brain hemorrhage and its likely out comes such as paralization it all depends on the location, size of the bleed and early diagnosis. Basically you'll just need to wait and see. Best of luck.  (+ info)

The doctor said my family member CAN recover from brain damage due to an hemorrhage. Is this true?

The doctor said the damage can be repaired. If this is so, what are some good steps to take to repair the brain. Right now my family member is unable to move, possibly caused by blood leaking on to the brain.

How to tell difference between hemorrhage or embolism stroke?

The symptoms of the two types of stroke, where one hemorrhages blood into brain killing portions of it. Or has an embolism clot that lodges somewhere depriving brain or cells of blood.
They apparently can be difficult to distinguish initially.

yet how someone dealing with one of them responds can be difference between severe disability and death or life and possible full recovery.

So, how can one tell which one someone is experiencing for oneself? If possible within first 30 minutes of the "magic window"? Or discern which someone else is having?
And how do we respond to either one to prevent further damage and maybe reverse damage, even if we are not near a hospital or professional medical help?
People are answering as if an er is available. But i am asking based on how to tell the difference and deal with if we are NOT able to get to a hospital or be reached by ambulance.
----------

You call 911 and rush them to the hospital. They do a CT and find out if it is Hemorrhagic or embolistic. We answer this way, because it is the only option. You do not know unless there is a CT done. Treatment depends on the cause. If you do not know the cause, NO TREATMENT can be done!!!  (+ info)

How long can a brain hemorrhage last?

How long could you brain bleed for without symptoms?
That's not even funny.
You've been reported anyway.

Oh, and learn to spell, dear.
----------

you would generally only bleed for a minute or two. the blood would then take up all of the available space and the pressure of the brain under pressure from the blood would compress the vessel and stop bleeding. the blood would then congeal to some degree.

if the question is how long the effect will last, the usual answer is 6 months for the swelling associated with the bleed to dissipate. therefore 'stroke' symptoms shouldnt be counted as permanent until then.

if the question is -could you bleed for a month with no symptoms - the answer is no.  (+ info)
