I have been diagnosed with lumbar radiculopathy , but MRI shows nothing , what can I do?

I got injured 9 months ago and this pain wont go away!!
----------

that is painful to have nerve damage.surprised you don't have any herniated discs.there are many things you can try.you might want to get another mri down the road. sometimes they(radiologists) miss things.you can go to a pain management anesthesiologist and get lumbar injections.you can try pain meds.try p.t..what about acupuncture.some people do very well with that. perhaps go get another opinion from a specialist..have you tried a tens unit.pain can drive someone crazy and ruin their lives.so try what you think might work..there is a newspaper called the pain management society and they have some good tips to really help, and stories from other people who really had to fight to get doctors to understand their pain.most doctors a callused to chronic pain.so keep looking to you find one that understands and will help.  (+ info)

Best approach to aleviate chronic back pain due to 3 year herniated disc with radiculopathy?

Have herniated disc L5-S1, with chronic pain in lower back, with radiculopathy in legs, with numbness in toes.
----------

I'm a medical student in Russia, here, the topic of Physiotherapy is very well-developed and widely practised as a method of therapeutic procedure. For pain due to herniated disc and pain due to radiculitis, a few prodedures used include:
1. Amplipulse therapy- using of low intensity, high frequency of alternating current. You will feel little to no pain after the procedure.
2. Inductotherapy- using of magnetic current on the back. believed to have high penetration ability and one of the effects include analgetic (pain-relieving).
You could research on it a little more in your area. Ask around a few physiotherapy clinics, the procedures, their indications, their contraindications, and so forth.
Also, it is widely believed that Massage therapy helps in relieving of pain syndrome. You may try it some time. It is a really relaxing procedure and it really does help. Good luck and get well!  (+ info)

Sacroiliitis & lumbosacral radiculopathy treatment?

I've been dealing with chronic lower back pain for almost 5 years. There's never a moment that I don't have the pain. Physical Therapy has been unsuccesful. After almost 5 years the have FINALLY diagnosed me with sacroiliitis and lumbosacral radiculopathy. I'm having a nerve test done on my legs in about 3 weeks. What kind of treatment other than antiamflamatories and physical therapy is out there to get rid of this constant debilitating pain?? Thanks!
----------

my wife also has been dealing with this for 6 yrs. she went to different pysical therapy also with no results. she takes antiinflamatories also. the nerve blocks dide'nt help either. she ended up with surgery on her neck (after a car wreck), but they cant do anything else for her back. a heating pad and wet towels help a lot sometimes. ask your doctor for darvocet to help when the pain gets so bad, you cant hardly stand it.she dont want to--but;, you might want to try acupuncture.try walking some everyday--this relieves the pain some. god bless good luck  (+ info)

what can cause chronic radiculopathy of the cervical vertebrae?

Trauma, like a car accident is one.  (+ info)

what is meaning of spondylosis cervical with radiculopathy left?

It means that you have some arthritic bony changes at a certain vertebral level (for example, C5/6) causing radiculopathy, or changes in the nerve causing irritation at the nerve root exiting from that level. The irritation can cause numbness or tinling in parts of the arm, left in your case. Physical therapy can help with this if it is still treatable and not an advanced case.  (+ info)

My sister was told she has "radiculopathy". I'm wondering if this is a temporary or permanent condition? ?

I believe it's a permanent condition. Or atleast, can be a permanent condition. It causes a lot of back pain, sciatica, numbness and tingling, and things like that. I'm enclosing a link to a site that has a lot of information about radiculopathy and it's causes and treatments. Hope this helps. Hopefully your sister will get the treatment she needs and feel better soon! Good luck!  (+ info)

I would like more causes of radiculopathy.?

I would like to know what causes radiculopathy.
----------

anything that impinges the nerves;; try a cold pack (not ice) for 15-20 minutes on your back;; if the radiculopathy is in the legs (I'm assuming), throw the cold pack on your low back (arch);; if this doesn't relieve it, the radiculopathy MAY require surgery.. good luck;; too many diagnoses for "radiculopathy...  (+ info)
