can a whiplash type accident cause c5 radiculopathy, and radiculitis at c7-8,i had a mri it shows bulging discs?

do i need a lawyer, never had neckpain or knowledge of bulging discs,c2 through 7,my insurance medical benefits have maxed out what do i do next
----------

How old are you? If you are beyond 30/40 bulging discs are a normal part of aging. Radiculopathy is compression of a nerve root. C5 supplies your arm - if you had a radiculopathy you would have neurological signs in your arm (pins/needles, loss of movement).

It is not possible to get radiculopathy from whiplash because whiplash, by definition, is a soft tissue injury meaning that it affects ligaments, muscle, tendons etc and not bones as would be the case in radiculopathy.

Radiculitis means infection of nerve root. Unless you had a penetrating injury that is unlikely and again you would have experienced neurological deficits  (+ info)

can chiropractic cure radiculopathy?

My neice has a pinched nerve in her neck causing a lot of pain in her arm. She was dianosed with rediculopathy.

Chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathy are all alternative modalities that can solve this problem. It's unfortunate that conventional medicine focuses so much effort on creating a "diagnosis" but doesn't have much to offer when it comes to actually fixing a problem other than offering pain medication which can become addictive and does liver damage.  (+ info)

does herniated nucleus pulposus the same with cervical radiculopathy??

i browsed about HNP and i saw one of its alternative name is cervical radiculopathy. but i got confused when i looked for cervical radiculopathy... tnxu...
----------

BETWEEN EACH VERTEBRA IS A CUSHIONING DISC, THE SOFT CENTER OF WHICH IS THE NUCLEUS PULPOSUS. IF
THIS SHIFTS OUT OF POSITION IT CAN PRESS ON A SPINAL NERVE CAUSING PAIN OR LOSS OF FUNCTION. THAT IS RADICULOPATHY AND IF IT IS IN THE NECK IT IS CERVICAL  (+ info)

Borderline left L5 radiculopathy?

What does this mean ?
----------

It means that on the Left side of L5 (lumbar disk # 5) there is low grade disk degeneration.
The most common symptom of lumbar Radiculopathy produces pain , numbness, or weakness radiating from the spine
The most common radiculopathy is sciatica.
This is a pain that radiates from your back into your buttocks, and down your legs to the feet.

To understand Medical terminology can be a puzzle, but when you see starting with C=cervical ; T= thoracic ;, L= Lumbar,; S= sacral
going down the spine and then the # following is the level that is affected.

Iwas diagnoised with Cervical Radiculopathy in my cervical spine with disc protusion causing pressure on my?

nerve roots will I ever be able to go back to work in dietary doing heavy lifting, pushing, pulling ,gripping, grasping etc. I am experiencing right pain, numbness, tingling of my fingers thumb, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow ,shoulder, neck, upper back and shoulder blade. I was finally diagnoised after 11/2 years of suffering in pain and fighting with my managers in dietary and workers compensation.

I would advise seeking the care of a chiropractor. They are trained for this type of diagnosis and will be able to treat the symptoms and not just mask them with drugs. They will probably take x-rays and then set up some type of treatment plan to help with your injury. This past summer I had a lower lumbar disc that was swollen and I went to the chiropractor for a while & my back is better now. I hope that you can seek treatment from someone & that you feel better soon. Living in constant pain is no way to live!  (+ info)

radiculopathy in the legs?

I filed a claim for my radiculopathy, tingling, numbness in the legs due to back problems. I was denied because (they said) "there is no diagnosis because there is no pathology to render a diagnosis" what does it mean, and is it true. To me, I can feel it, so why not.

Ask your doctor what it means , he is the one that can give you a straight answer for your problem . Good luck  (+ info)

Can a headache from neck problem cause high blood pressure?

I have spinal stenosis, cervical radiculopathy and herniated discs. After I stopped the traction at PT (my insurance stopped paying).
I started to get really intense headaches.
Now my blood pressure is really high
160/110 and my doc said it is from the pain.

Does pain cause your BP to go up like that?
----------

yes pain can cause your b/p and your pulse to rise. high b/p can also cause you to have a head ache. i would try going to see a chiropractor.  (+ info)

??? Radiculopathy Polyneuropathy ???

My mom was told yesterday that she has this or these: radiculopathy and/or polyneuropathy

I was trying to research them online, was wondering if anyone knew more about them or sites which explain them??

She has burning in her legs and arms every night and can't sleep

Thanks
----------

Radicular neuropathy is a general term for any type of damage or irritation of the peripheral nerves (the ones innervating arms, legs, torso, etc). The symptoms can be pain, numbness, "pins-and-needles" feeling, and even paralysis of certain limbs.
Polyneuropathy is the same thing, except that more than one nerve is affected. You see, all nerves that leave the brain exit the spinal canal at one point or other to innervate their corresponding regions. Each of these "main branches" divides into smaller branches, and these divide as well, so that each region of the body has excellent perception and sensibility. With your mom, it sounds as if more than one of these main branches is damaged, as she has pain in her arms AND legs.
There's a bunch of causes for polyneuropathy. It could be due to infection (i.e. herpes zoster, lyme disease), degenerative bone disease, tumor, abscess, or trauma.  (+ info)
