i got bit by a tick, and the bite is less than half an inch in diameter. the center is scabbed, the immediate surrounding is gray/purple, and around that is a little red. it's sensitive when i touch it.

Rats have been known to carry some of mans deadliest diseases. The Black Plague was caused by the FLEAS that were on the rats. But rats are known to carry Rabies and that is transmitted by bites. Why do i still have affects of a rat bite i had years and years ago?

About 4 years ago i was bitten by a rat on the end of my finger, ever since then the bitten area has been extremely sensitive and it has some kind of rectangle shaped hard thing paralel to my nail inside the skins. Is there anything i can do to stop it being so sensitive and does anyone know what the @&#% the weird hard thing is??
I suspect it's just underlying tissue damage and perhaps a collection of blood/lymphocytes under the skin.
However, rats carry a number of bacterial infections in their saliva - some of them serious- so maybe worth getting checked out by a Doc. If you didn't have any sort of reaction at the time, fever or sore joints, I would think it's not an issue.  (+ info)

My mother has been sick so she told me to look up what she has. She has a constant headache. She's been getting a fever on and off all week. She also said at night the tips of her fingers get tingly like she has frost bite, but that's only happened the past two nights.

I have a UTI right now and I have had a high fever. I just assumed it was due to the UTI, but then I noticed the bites I had got a few days ago were changing. They are swollen and a purplish-redish color and they are spaning out very slowly. Could my fever be from the bug bites or is it more likely from my uti?
If the bites are purplish-red and spreading out, they could be infected. Signs of infection are swelling, redness, and fever, plus the bites would feel feverish. I would see a doctor just to be sure. Bug bite looking thing on body causing fever, migraine and sore throat?

I had a friend who did not feel well Tuesday night. She went to the doctors to get tested for strep, but it was negative. The next day she noticed what seemed to be bug bites on her body. The doctors are not sure what she has and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

if it looks like a bullsye and you live in a wooded are definatly have check lime disese or other tick born diseses . lyme disease goes undected for years , these are a few of the indicators of a tick born disease please have it checked asap  (+ info)
