I've had the system for a while and starting to use it again but I don't know how much weight I'm lifting. I don't know where the manual is, and by block I mean the small top weight and the lower larger weights.

What is the best kind of sun screen/block to get?

I want to get a sun screen or a sun block but I don't know what to look for or what brand. Should I get the screen or a block? What brand should I get? I want something that absorbs to my skin easily and doesn't feel greasy. Also something without or with little scent would be nice. How high of an SPF should I look for?

How do I use a block of seedless tamarind?

I wanted tamarind paste but instead I bought a block of paste-looking tamarind that says Tamarind Seedless on the front. However, I found bits and pieces that resemble seeds! What are those? Can I eat them? If I want to make tamarind sauce, how do I use this?
They probably are just seeds. I've used tamarind block - no problem. Just stir a chunk of it into your cooking sauce or in some simmering water and it should dissolve and be just the same as using the paste. Use a bit less than the recipe calls for if the recipe calls for paste. I'd pick out the seeds, too.  (+ info)

Sorry, I don't happen to have all that fancy equipment.

But I do have a Washing Machine...

Whenever I make chocolates, small or large molds -- as they are setting, I put them on top of my washing machine and set the machine for spin cycle. It vibrates all of the bubbles out!

The bubbles are caused because when your machine (or for poor folks, like me, my spoon) stir the chocolate to keep from burning, bubbles get trapped into the chocolate. They get smaller as the machine (spoon) stir and break the bubbles. The only way to get rid of bubbles is to vibrate.

Someone says that they use a toothpick. Yes, that works for smaller molds, only if you can see the bubbles. If you can't get a vibrating plate - Maybe you could get a small personal vibrating pad.

That should get rid of all of your bubbles -- or you could borrow my washing machine.

Two containers, a large one and a small one. Fill the larger one with water and press the smaller one down into the water. Hold the smaller container in place with a plate or other heavy object.

Freeze.

After it is frozen solid. Fill the smaller container with hot water, this will loosen it so it can be removed. Pour or spray hot water on the outside of the larger container also with hot water to release it.

Use buckets for a punch bowl, and plastic cups to make 'glasses'.  (+ info)

How do they do the spinal block i have never heard of that? I know everything about Epidural but what is the difference between them and which works better?
There are several layers between your skin and the subarachnoid space (where your cerebrospinal fluid is).

The layers in order are skin > fascia > supraspinous ligament > interspinous ligament > ligamentum flavum > epidural space > dura > subarachnoid space.

When placing an epidural, the anesthetist places a catheter (thin plastic tubing) in the epidural space. This gives you a continuous infusion of local anesthetic that numbs up the part of your body that is covered. It can take 10 minutes or so for the epidural to start taking effect.

When doing a spinal, the anesthetist performs a single injection in the subarachnoid space. There is no catheter. The effect is immediate and the numbness can last for a few hours depending on the dose and concentration of the drug. In general this is used for surgical anesthesia (e.g c-section) but can also be used when the patient needs quick relief and she is about to deliver.

At many institutions including the baby factory known as Prentice Women's Hospital (Northwestern Memorial Hospital - Chicago), the anesthesiologists usually do a combined technique to get the immediate effects of the spinal and the continous infusion of the epidural.

Is it possible to separate a frozen block of chicken tenderloins?

I received a 10 lb bag of frozen chicken tenderloins. They are frozen in a solid block. Is it ok to thaw, separate the chicken tenderloins into portion sizes and then refreeze again? If not, what is the best way to go about doing this without wasting a lot of chicken?
You really shouldn't refreeze meat. I also bet this has been done once before on this meat already.

You will have chicken that tastes like strings if you do and it's really not safe to do it either.

IF it were me, I would make a big batch of something, or different batches of something and refreeze the cooked meals.

I'd let them thaw out and have a big bar b q or fill up the croc pot with them. You can grind some of it in the food processor for things like chicken tacos.  (+ info)

I have a 2.5 lb block, and want to enjoy it to the max, as good cheese is not readily available where I live (Taiwan). I need tips on how I can enjoy it, and how I can save it to enjoy it for later. THANKS!
When I buy a big block of cheese we cut it into 1/2 pound chunks. Give or take a few ounces and seal with the food saver so they last longer.

You can make :

Grilled cheese
cheese and crackers
Quesidillas (sp)
mac and cheese
brocolli and cheese casserole

Anything you would do with chedar it is just not as sharp.
