Many things can cause irregular periods. Since you haven't given your age, I'll tell you that it takes anywhere from one to thre years for a young woman's body to set a "regular" menstrual cycle. If you've had body calendar has been "set" for some time and you have no other symptoms that may have caused you to go "off schedule," yes, it could be due to the throat infection. Your body is working to fight the infection and it may be targeting the priority--getting well.

If you have no reason to suspect pregnancy or any "female problems," just wait for period. You may skip the cycle but start "on schedule" next month. If not then, you should probably make an appointment for a gynecological exam. Suggest you keep a journal if other symptoms show up so you an inform the doctor should you need to go.

Can diseases mix or fuse to make a completely new one.
Same for viruses can they mix to make a completely new one.

Not disease but certain pathogens(viruses or bacteria) may mix up and form a new type(strain). Mixing up means the mixing of the genetic material of both the different types. The newly formed type do not resembles with its parent types, but have a new genetic make up.  (+ info)
