Once I start sneezing I sneeze on average 15 times before it stops?

Does anyone else have this problem? If so how do you stop it? I've been like this my whole life. A lot of people tend to think im faking it, but I don't find sneezing enjoyable and I didn't know anyone else does either. It just makes me wonder why people would think I would fake it. Anyway, can anyone help me out?

How do you sneeze without making noise or without actually sneezing?

I guess what I'm asking is how do you sneeze inwardly or prevent yourself from sneezing. I've tried many times (because I can make myself sneeze) but never been able to hold it in.
I dont want the sneeze to go away, i just want no nasty booger and spit crap flying out of me and want it to make little or no noise ... like sneezing inwardly.
----------

hold it at the top of your mouth... like hold it in --- its coming up its coming up... then sneexe in your mouth towards the back of your throwt  (+ info)

What medicine would you give to a 6 month old that started off sneezing and now has a runny nose/stuffy nose?

Yesterday my daughter started sneezing all day long. Last night her nose was stuffy. Today its running and she still sneezes some. She doesn't have fever. I am thinking it may be allergies. When a baby teethes do they sneeze and etc? I may call her doctor tomorrow. She just gets so uncomfortable when she sleeps, she woke up all night long. Does anyone have any suggestions on medicine or if they think its allergies?

Thanks for all the help!

I have the same problem with my 7 month old as well. He started out with sneezing, then the runny nose, then the constant congestion and coughing. Its going on two weeks now and still not gone. There's no medicine you can actually give.

This is what I do:
1. Saline on a q-tip just inside the nose
2. Johnson and Johnson Vapor Baby wash
3. Elevate the crib mattress so that they sleep on an incline
4. Use a nasal aspirator
5. Bring him in the bathroom when you take a hot steamy shower
6. Use a vaporizer
7. Baby Vapor Rub on the chest and around the nose  (+ info)

How do I know if my excessive sneezing is allergies or not?

To my knowledge, I have never had allergies. However, I have been sneezing so much lately that I am thinking it has to be something. If it is allergies, sneezing is my only side effect. Still, it could get worse later and I want to know what causes sneezing.

You have probably developed hay fever.
It happened to me. I thought I was getting a cold or something then I clicked. I got it as an adult despite being okay for years.  (+ info)

Is it possibly to purposely make your nose more sensitive to sneezing?

Hi, this isn't a serious question, but is it possibly to purposely make your nose more sensitive to sneezing? Because I rarely sneeze, but honestly, I feel better on the rare occasion where I sneeze a few times a day. I don't know why that is, it's weird, but I do feel better when I sneeze more often. I know making myself sneeze doesn't help because it desensitizes my nose, so is there anything I can do to make my nose more sensitive? Thanks.

it may sound gross but if you stick something like a tissue or something tin up your nose then it will irritate it and cause you to sneeze  (+ info)

Is this a serious problem with sneezing and what can I do about it?

I have a continual problem with sneezing that I’ve lived with for the past 10 or so years. It’s gotten a little worse each year and this year it’s gotten pretty bad. I sneeze uncontrollably for an average of 6 or 8 sneezes in a row and some times more then 20. It was particularly dry today, and these darn sneezes are really ripping up the back of my throat, like above my uvula. I’m starting to sneeze blood and it’s really raw and hurts. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, how do you deal with it? The only thing that works for me is laradadine (Claritin 24 hour) and even then it only holds back the worst on the good days and doesn’t even seem to help on the bad days (today). Any suggestions would be appreciated on how to deal with this. Or even some reassurance that I’m not the only one with this problem. Thanks!

Hi Chick in Florida,

I have has alleriges so bad that my eyes closed because of the yucky stuff that comes out when you have bad allergies the medical name for this is (alergic conjuntavitis) (its non contagous Pink Eye) I used to sneeze for in excess of up to 30-40 minutes at a time. I lived in England for 6 1/2 years and this is where my alleriges started afterwards I moved to Southern California. (the desert) year by year my allergies got better. They rarely bug me these days. But here are some things I learned and want to pass on to you. (by the way I'm a Florida native myself)

There are a few thing things you can do.

Change out your airfilter in your house. You may be like me (my allerigies affected me more at home (my home) Go to Lowe's or home Depot and purchase a 3M filter for you A/C unit. Buy the best one they have. You may also be allerigic to the mildew there; buy a mildew bucket that removes mildew from the air. (Winn-Dixie) used to sell them. I have Asthma and mildew triggers my Asthma.

The other thing you can and need to do if figure out what you are allerigic to. In my case Choloate is one thing, Pespi used to be another. (You are propably suffering from food allergies)

When I was in England they had me try all sorts of stuff to include Claritin D, nothing worked. I have also heard that you can try eating honey, but it needs to be from the local area. The best things that I have found to use are Alpha tablets from a heath food store. I use 1000 mil. Becareful not to use more than this as it can dry you out. The first time I took 2000 mil. and ended up with a really bad headacke. Give this a try and make sure you drink plenty of water. The other thing I have found out that helps too is Ecka-nasha (sorry I know I did not spell that right) they sell them in cough drops and will help your throught to feel better.

One last thing. If your not allerigic to Vick's put it on the bottom of your feet on the night's that your coughing, make sure you put on some socks on your feet. My mom told me about this when I was a little kid and for some reason it works. I have done it to my kids several times.

By all means I'm not a doctor, and am not giving you medical advice. I'm just telling you what has worked for me and my family. Like you I was misrable for very long periods of time and I know that sometimes regular medication is not the answer; In my case it was not. I hope my suggestions come to you as a big relief. Please write back to me and let me know if any of this has been a help/relief to you.

Sincerly,
One past allerigy sufferer.

By the way, I thought you gave some excellent advise to the young man who was wanting to grow a beard.  (+ info)

Is sneezing only associated with allergies? Or can it just be part of a bad cold?

I always thought sneezing was an allergy thing, but I've never had allergies. I just came down with what I think is a terrible head cold, but I keep sneezing. I'm wondering if it's actually allergies.
----------

Sneezing can be part of a bad cold as well with allergies. You can take an antihistamine (Reactine/Clartin) and see if it helps - if not try a cold medication ... if that helps then it is a cold. If the antihistamine helps, then it could be related to an allergy.

Good luck!  (+ info)

How many people suffer from sun sneezing?

Sun sneezing, the photic sneeze reflex, causes some people to sneeze when subjected to bright light, usually from the sun. It's not clear the proportion of people who actually suffer from this condition, and to what degree.
----------

As I understand it, Photic sneezing is recognized by the medical community as an inherited trait. According to familydoctor.org about one out of every three people sneeze when exposed to bright light.
However most people have some sensitivity to light that can trigger a sneeze.
Have you ever had the feeling that you are about to sneeze, but it just gets stuck? Next time that happens, try looking toward a bright light briefly (but don't look right into the sun) - see if that doesn't unstick a stuck sneeze!  (+ info)

How fast does mucus travel when leaving your nose upon sneezing?

I would like to know how fast CO2/mucus travels upon leaving the the nose when sneezing. I've heard that it is like 121 mph but I would like to know how fast it travels from the nose upon sneezing; if there has been definitive proof, etc...
----------

102 miles - Fastest recorded.   (+ info)
