This is a hard one to answer. Generally, status symbol foods are ones that aren't available locally or are prohibitively expensive.
In the USA, some would say that status symbol foods would be pâté, caviar, single-malt scotch and expensive chocolates. Others would say that they are organic beef, free-range chickens, prosciutto, Kopi Luwak coffee and handcrafted cheeses.
Because seafood is so plentiful in Japan, beef would be a status item, as would be Scottish whisky or Jack Daniels.
In Germany, status foods would be alligator meat, Japanese shrimp, mangoes or even chocolate-covered grasshoppers. (

I have just been demoted at work from middle management to a secretarial position. I am having some problems dealing with the loss of status and also problems with dealing with other people at work. My former management colleagues are doing their best to avoid me and the other secretaries just find it really funny. It is making me a little depressed and I am dreading going to work today. Well, I'm just about to resign my management position at work because I want to be demoted. I can understand how you feel in relation to loss of status, but really that's just the pecking order within the hierarchy of work and is nothing to do with who you are as a person. Sometimes its difficult to separate your work self from your real self, especially when you're in management. Give it time and talk to yourself positively. You'll be interesting to the other secretaries because of your knowledge of management and besides, it'll be old news in a week or so. (

There are many factors that must be considered here. The mothers age, health, sexual history, family history for diseases and disorders are all things that must be investigated. The main, outstanding factor in this situation is the mother's age. An older mother has a greater risk of conceiving a baby with Trisomy 21 or down syndrome, and some other neurological defects (spina bifida). Other procedures include screening for STD's and whether the mother is a carrier of specific genes that cause conditions like Cystic Fibrosis (if she or the father has a family history). There are also many questions that must be asked to determine the status of maternal health (obesity, hypertension, smoking, drinking, etc.) Finally, the first ultra sound (usually internal) is performed to examine the developing fetus and check for placenta abnormalities and such.
It is important to determine the status of a fetus prenatally because it greatly increases the chances of having a healthy pregnancy and delivery if any underlying conditions are ruled out or discovered. These measures also determine the viability and health of the pregnancy. If the fetus will not thrive, then the pregnancy can be terminated early enough to prevent maternal harm.

How will divorcing while I´m pregnant affect his legal status as a parent?
I´m in a very rocky marriage at the moment and I don´t think it´s going to last much longer.. I am, however,pregnant with him..so I´m wondering if divorcing would have any effect on his legal status as the father? Could he demand for custody if the child hasn´t even been born yet?

if for some reason they decide the father will get custody
they may however give you temporary custody
for a short time when the baby is born due to breastfeeding, etc.
but most courts favor the mother
and in my opinion, shared custody
is always the best option
unless a parent is abusive or unfit. (

(1) Health status & health information is privileged information and is protected by law (HIPAA), (2) A positive HIV status does not necessarily pose a threat to others; (3) There is no law that requires disclosure. The only people who should be told are the people with whom you have sex or share needles. But otherwise, if you want to keep your health status to yourself, that is your prerogative. And (4) there are possible consequences to revealing this and people have suffered great social harm by doing so. One man called his landlord from the hospital to tell him his rent would be late because of his new AIDS diagnosis; he returned home to find his locks changed, his possessions boxed, and the tires on his car slashed. A suburban mother asked her sister-in-law to take care of her son while she was in the hospital for an HIV-related condition; the sister-in-law decided no person with AIDS was fit to care for a child and refused to give him back. A Chicago travel agent told his office staff about his HIV status because "they were like family;" he was fired shortly thereafter when he took a few sick days.
Include this in your speech: Be sure to consider the five "W's" when thinking about disclosure: who, what, when, where and why. Who do you need to tell? What do you want to tell them about your HIV infection, and what are you expecting from the person you are disclosing your HIV status to? When should you tell them? Where is the best place to have this conversation? Why are you telling them?
At some point it will become necessary to disclose the information at least in part when it changes in ones health begins to impact ones job. At no time is it necessary to reveal how the infection came about in the first place. (
