Is it possible to rupture someone's ear drum or make someone's ruptured ear drum worse by hitting them in

the stomach? My brother is blaming me for rupturing his ear drum because I accidentally hit him in the stomach. He was in a serious car acident 3 days ago and he has and will have a salad bowl covering his ear for the next month. His ear drum may have been ruptured from the car accident but I hope I didn't make it worse.
----------

a punctured eardrum hurts like you would not believe. I have done both. Both times, I had to get a shot in the butt. Water accidents!

Emense pain on the whole side of your head and jaw and SCM muscle and possibly down the neck........depending on how it occurred.

You did not rupture it, but any internal pressure increase(like punching in the stomach) could apply more pressure to his already ruptured eardrum.  (+ info)

Daily stomach aches i recently got my appendix out?

Hello, ever since i got my ruptured appendix out ive been getting stomach aches daily. Probably about 1-2-3 every 2-3 days. Is this normal?
----------

It is NOT normal &could be very serious. Don't take chances. Please get the condition checked out as soon as possible. It is probably not serious, but you should find out what the problem is. But, there is an outside chance that it could be serious. E.g. a bacterial infection that could progress rapidly.
I am a bit puzzled that the surgeon and G.P. have not contacted you about a follow up examination.
Good luck,
Doc. Dan.  (+ info)

What are the chances of a uterine rupture?

I will be almost 3 years since my last c-section. (34 months to be exact) My hospital does not have an anesthesiologist available 24-7, so I am considering having another c-section. Does anyone know the chances of having a uterine rupture 34 months after having surgery? I just don't want to undergo surgery if my chances are very slim of having a complications, especially if a VBAC would be safe. My doctor has left the decision up to me. If anyone has had to make this decision, I am interested in why you chose either way.
----------

If you do have a rupture and the anesthesiologist isn't in-house when it happens, you WILL have a C-section with local anesthesia, and you won't enjoy it.

The hospitals near me don't allow VBAC without a full C-section team in-house.

Why did you have the first C-section? That can influence your risk.

ACOG recommends having personnel for C-section immediately available. Any physician who disregards that advice is playing with fire.  (+ info)

How long does it typically take for a cerebral aneurysm to rupture?

I recently had a cerebral aneurysm rupture and bleed out in my brain. After a very long surgery I am now recovering. I was curious how long it was in my brain before it ruptured?
----------

It is true, there is no way to know. Although more than likely, it had been there a while. Aneurysms, unless caused by trauma, tend to grow fairly slowly. Some aneurysm locations in the brain can be faster than others due to differences in blood flow.  (+ info)

How is a fracture different from a rupture?

I ruptured my right ankle's ligament while coming downstairs. The Doc says its not a fracture, but a rupture. But still he plastered my ankle with POP.

So what is the difference between a fracture and a rupture?
----------

The term 'rupture' is associated with soft tissue, while a fracture (or break) typically refers to harder tissue such as bone. You can rupture a blood vessel or a ligament, but you can't rupture a bone. Similarly you can fracture a bone but you can't fracture a ligament.

The ligament is what connects the bones in your ankle to one another, holding them in place. A fracture of the bone or rupture of the ligament will both feel quite similar and both will likely to be rendered immobile as they heal, hence the cast.  (+ info)

What are the symptoms of a plantar fascia rupture?

I was running yesterday and I felt a tearing sensation on the bottom of my foot and today I can barely walk. I've had plantar fasciitis before, this felt different. How do they treat plantar fascia rupture? Anyone know? Not a lot on the web about it.
----------

If you strain your plantar fascia, it can become inflamed, weak and swollen, making it painful to stand or walk. The pain may be strongest when you first step out of bed in the morning or if you have been standing for long periods of time.
There are lots of different options for healing plantar fasciitis. You can give your feet a rest for a few days and avoid doing activities that make the pain worse. You can also trying icing the area, using an over-the-counter pain reliever and buying shoes with extra support. If your condition worsens, your doctor can give you shots of steroid medication.
If the pain in your foot persists, you should consult your doctor!

Is it possible to rupture a blood vessel in your penis?

I am a male and I had sex for the first time last night and when we were done, I noticed a small red circle near the base of my penis. It was the color of blood. It's somewhat diminished today. Did i bruise my penis or rupture a blood vessel or something? Perhaps the pressure on it from having sex did it?
EDIT: I should provide more information I am 21 years old and a senior in college. I held out for a long time I know lol. I am also a gay man, so I didn't bump against any "vaginal wall" but it could have been thrusting into the anal cavity to hard perhaps???? Any thoughts?
OMG I think it's a hickey!!!! That would make sense since he did suck pretty hard for foreplay!
Edit: Engaged... And you can just go somewhere I can't say on yahoo... Seriously. We were also not made to fly in airplanes or travel on wheels but we do anyway. Take your homophobia somewhere else and attempt to come out of the closet sometime.
----------

This is a tough one. I could suspect a hickey, a rupture, or disease. To get to the bottom of this would require too many personal questions that should not be asked or answered here. If you're still in school, visit the school nurse (that person is NOT going to laugh at you or be judgmental) or the health center if you're in college. If you're an adult on your own, then ask a friend of yours who is a nurse, or see a doctor.  (+ info)

What is the proper way to do stomach crunches?

I went to a gym a few years ago and I cannot remember if the woman told me to suck in my stomach when I do them or if she told me not to....She said that you will get muscles in your stomach that bulge out and your stomach will not get flat if they are done improperly...Can someone please inform me of the proper way to do them for a flatter stomach? Do you suck your stomach in or no? Thank you!
----------

you can suck in our tummy but make sure that you are breathing while you do the crunches. put you r hands behing your head and dont bend your arms try and make your elbows level with the ground if that makes any sense, and then look up and the ceiling and lift your torso up towards the ceiling. make sure that your shoulder bones come off the ground. think of lifting up not folding in half. hope that helps  (+ info)
