gastroenteritis- sub acute because the pain is generally spread over a larger area

chronic arthritis- chronic being reoccuring and uncurable but can manage the symptoms and is not necessarily life threatening on it's own

ulcerative colitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis?

how likely is it that my children will have problems if my future husband has these diseases? should i not have children with him? he might not even live long enough to see them in college anyway. i don't know what to do. he always talking about having children with me in the future but i just dont know if it's a good idea.
----------

There is a genetic link, but the risk to your future children is actually quite low. About 1 in 100 of the population have ulcerative colitis (UC). If you have a relative with the condition, this goes up to about 3 in 100 (3% chance). Even among identical twins (who share identical genes), where one twin has the disease, only 6% of the "normal" twins went on to develop the ulcerative colitis. Most people live reasonably normal lives with UC and surgery to remove the large bowel can cure the disease if it can't be managed with medication.
Primary sclerosing cholangitis is a much rarer disease, but people with colitis are known to be at higher risk. The outcome for this condition tends not to be so good, with most people developing liver failure after about 10 years and needing a liver transplant. The genetic risk of this condition for any future children would be very small but the disease itself and/or the implications of a liver transplant could possibly affect fertility. Hope this helps.  (+ info)

what does the doc means when he says i have a bilateral sclerosing mastoiditis with right csom?

Hey there!!

Well, it means you were suffering with Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media (CSOM) which progressed to mastoid ( a bone behind your ears)!!!

See, to start with you must be suffering with sinusitis or some ear infection which did not get resolved and led to a condition called CSOM.. Even then this CSOM was not/inadequately treated which led to spread of infection to mastoids..

Since you say that the condition is bilateral (both ears) the cause could be Allergic Sinusitis!! Irrespective of the cause, first thing you need is drainage of middle ear and mastoid and control of infection. Having done that we could look at the cause like Allergy!!!

My suggestion: Please do not ignore it, as it is easily controllable now.. So control it before it spreads to produce intracranial complications!!!  (+ info)

Where does a physical therapist assistant make the most $: acute, subacute, out-patient, or sports?

What should I ask for starting pay???
----------

Since the demand is the highest, regsitry and subacute therapists tend to make the most. Outpatient and sports therapy is a more competitive field, so unless you have the advanced qualifications and experience, you won't get anymore money working there.  (+ info)

The following links are surgical/doctors pictures of examples of subacute cholecystitis. Its very gross for layman but it will give u a better idea of what's happening inside and different stages of the development in the gall bladder. Symptoms of subacute choleystitis is the diffuse-chronic inflamation resulting in thickening of the wall of the gall bladder. This can be resulted from gall stone, chemical or bacterial factors
