How worried should I be about latent TB?

My skin test swelled up like a mother of a mosquito bite, but the x-ray was okay and they cleared me to work.

Still, is there anything I should be watching out for or doing? Is there a chance I could put other people at risk? How likely is it that it will turn into the harmful form of TB?
----------

The skin test means you have been exposed, not that you are infected.
It is unlikely that you are contageous unless you have an active case.
Just get checked regularly.  (+ info)

Why does latent tuberculosis become active tuberculosis?

6 months ago I tested positive for latent TB. A few days ago my chest x-ray showed that it is active. I started on INH for a month but my liver couldn't handle it. Why did I get active TB so fast. I eat very healthy and I take care of myself.

Could someone please give me a list of symptoms for latent schizophrenia?

Hi

I think it must be one of the less well known mental disorders because I get very little information when i type it into google.

Just a bullet point list would be fine.

Thanks

Meeting others with low latent inhibition?

I suffer from a mental illness called low latent inhibition or LLI (what michael scoffield has from prision break) i was only recently diagnosed with it and want to meet others that also have it
----------

Dear Rather So,
I found your question in the course of my occasional googling of "LLI".
In truth however, I am not sure whether I have it or not. I too heard about it first on that famous episode of Prison Break and it definitely struck a chord. After subsequent research I am not 100% sure what it is. My understanding of the condition is that it manifests as a characteristic way the bearers perceive their environment. It can only be described as a difference from what can be called "normal." It seems that so called normal people inhibit the flow of data from everyday objects by a system of labelling.
These labels are automatically applied to objects and no more thought is paid to them. In the normal mind for example, a TV is a TV but in a mind that has LLI it is still perceived as a black plastic box with electron guns in a vacuum tube illuminating a phosphor screen etc. Although it is known what the TV is, all the information flows in as if it was the first time it had been encountered.
Whatever LLI is, it has to interact with the rest of the person’s personality - a broader picture that is painted over a lifetime with the colours of experience and thought.
LLI is universally classified as a personality trait: not a mental disorder or illness and it can be a good basis for either creativity or madness or both.
I have now run out of space!
I hope this helps you; I would be interested to know what you think.

How much does isoniazid therapy (INH) for latent TB cost?

I don't have insurance but would like to have the treatment done. What's the total cost (including doctor's visit, medication, lab tests, etc)?

How long did your latent phase or prodromal labor last before active labor began?

Length:
Prodromal labor contractions may begin hours or even days before active labor.

Prodromal labor is a term for early labor that lasts for a long while without progressing into active labor. It is a nightmare. This is the labor pattern that lasts for days, causing the mother to lose sleep, disrupt her appetite, and causes exhaustion. It will probably eventually change into an active labor pattern, but even if this happens, the biggest danger is depletion of emotional and physical resources: the mother may not be able to continue with the labor and may need pain relief or even a cesarean. This is not the kind of labor that any woman wants to experience.

Is it possible that chlamydia will be latent for a number of years?

My husband was told me may have chlamydia, however we have been faithful to each other since we met 6 years ago. We have both been tested and found negative within that time, so it possible one of us had it and it is just now showing up? Also, can it cause sterility in men? Serious answers only please. Non-serious answers will be reported. Thanks.
We spent 5 hours in the ER yesterday because he was having a burning sensation while urinating and his penis was "throbbing". We were told that it was a possiblity of chlamydia because there was no bacteria in his urine.
----------

No, it doesn't lay dormant. If someone got it and gave it to someone else, somebody was screwing around and it was not that long ago. My ex gave me that story too. When I got tested I was positive and I kept trying to find out from the doctor if what you said was true. He quickly told me the time frame for it to show up and left the room. I was pregnant at the time and I guess he didn't want to be there when I realized my ex had been f*cking around.

Sorry to be so blunt, but you need to know the truth.

Good luck.  (+ info)

Can chewing gum for too long at one time on a frequent basis cause latent damage to your teeth or jaw?

Especially after a few hours, once the gum seems to get tougher, and doing it everyday. I'm not talking about chewing bubblicious and causing tooth decay, but a sugar free gum like Trident thats supposed to help clean your teeth.
----------

I am not a doctor but from personal expierence chewing gum frequently can end up hurting your jaw. I personally have TMJ from that and grinding my teeth.  (+ info)
