i have this really nasty ulcer in the perfect spot where its hurting constantly through out the day...any home remdies that could help it besides salt and warm water? i already tried that one...
Orabase with benzocaine, or ask the pharmacist what they have in stock. Unfortunately it hurts, but the good news is that it should resolve in around a week.

I just asked my dad and I searched this online. You cannot have anything with acid in it. Like lemon juice, tomatoes and tomato products.


"Alcohol, black and red pepper, chilies, chili powder, and hot peppers often irritate the stomach lining. Foods with caffeine can increase the amount of stomach acid. These foods include coffee (regular and decaf), teas, colas, cocoa, chocolate. Avoid or limit these items if they cause you pain."

This is my first time having such a bad and horrible ulcer. This ulcer started out small. Then in the 3rd day, it swell so much that my throat hurts a little. The ulcer is in the small gap in the middle of the teeth and my right cheek. My mummy asked me to rub salt into the ulcer. That is what we usually do and it really works. In this case, it didn't, although it stopped swelling the next day, it left a hole. I put salt daily and it closed up a little. I just put some salt just now and guess what? It bleed. What should I do???
Assuming this is a "canker sore" type ulcer, it simply needs 7-14 days for your body to combat the virus and for the tissue to heal. Salt will not help it though it might over-stimulate the nerves and so relieve the pain somewhat. You could put topical Oragel on it (anesthetic) to relieve the pain prior to eating. If you do that, dry the area first for best results. If it does not go away within three weeks, you should have it evaluated by a dentist.  (+ info)

How do you treat a chronic foot ulcer that is Sickle Cell related?

The Ulcer is abt 2cms across and has been on the foot joint on the exterior side. Its been a year since it formed. No signs of healing despite use of Bactroban & daily cleaning using water only at home.
The patient needs to see a wound care specialist as soon as possible.

Wounds should not persist for a year, even on someone with sickle cell disease.

In fact, someone with sickle cell disease should be treated more aggressively that a non-sickle cell person.

Year long use of Bactroban will cause the Staph on the skin (MRSA or non-MRSA) to become resistant to the antibiotic. In addition, using just water to keep it wet can slow down the growth of new tissue, preventing healing.

The real danger here is not so much Staph bacteria, other organisms can take hold like Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

2 centimeters is a fairly large wound to be around for a year. You may need some debridement of the area, special wound care and some of the newer wound packing materials to stimulate new skin growth.

It totally depends on the circumstances. It could get eroded away quickly by bacteria, it could be eroded quickly by alcohol or NSAIDs like aspirin and ibuprofen, stomach acid, etc. It depends on if its being treated. Dave is under a lot of stress at his job and at home. He begins to feel disconfort and a burning sensation in his abdomen following a meal. What is the best treatment for an eye ulcer on a dog?

My dog has had an eye ulcer for 4 months. It healed and now has come back. He has been blind in this eye since it first appeared.I have been giving him drops, serum, and ointment every 2-4 hours. My vet says I should take him to a specialist for surgery to graft the eye. I am wondering if he will regain his vision if he has the surgery or if I should have the eye removed to stop the pain and discomfort if there is no chance he will see out of this eye again. Any suggestions?
