Difference between pancreatic neoplasm and cystic neoplasm?

Anyone who knows, I would greatly appreciate it.
I would like for those who are in the medical profession to answer this question, or someone with real knowledge. I'm not looking for insensitive answers, simply the facts.
I must add that this is specific to a low density mass in the pancreas, very small in size. No diagnostic tests have been done other than a CT that detected it.

pancreatic neoplasm occurs in the pancreas
cystic neoplasm can occur anywhere in the body.  (+ info)

How is heredity, malnutrition, neoplasm, and infection linked with heart disease?

Hereditary is proved to have links with your chances of getting heart disease. Fortunately there are measures which can be taken to stave the development of it. Good diet, exercise, weight maintainance, keeping cholesterol levels down (diet and drugs if need be).
Infection can cause damage to the structures of the heart eg Rheumatic fever can damage the valves, or inflammation of the muscle or layers of the heart.
As far as Im aware neoplasm isnt linked;  (+ info)

ureteral reimplant surgery?

I’m not sure how to ask this, but my daughter is 2 ½ years old and she has been getting UTI’s since she was 6mos. And we recently had VCUG and a NVCUG. The VCUG showed that she had reflux of a grade 2 and the NVCUG confirmed the results, she also has scarring on her right kidney and is smaller than the left so we have her on an antibiotic for now but the Urologist is suggesting surgery. Is this in your opinion the only way to resolve her problem or will the antibiotic over time be something we should consider, please help.
----------

the antibiotics will treat the infections, for a while. But that doesn't fix the root problem. I think your urologist is right, it is a physical problem, and should be repaired.  (+ info)

What To Expect After Surgery:

To allow healing of the urinary tract, a catheter is placed through the urethra to allow urine to drain. The catheter is usually removed in about 10 days.

You are usually able to go home 2 to 3 days after the surgery if there have been no complications. Once home, expect a 2- to 4-week recovery period, during which you should refrain from doing too much work or strenuous activities of any kind.

The amount of pain you experience after surgery depends on the exact nature of your procedure, your physical condition at the time of surgery, and your own response to pain. You will probably feel some pain from your ureters and may feel some cramping in your abdomen. Your health professional will prescribe medication to relieve your discomfort during the first few days after surgery. Be sure to call your health professional if you experience unrelievable pain.

Risks
Complications of ureteral surgery may include urination difficulties.

All abdominal surgeries have a risk of complications, including:

Internal bleeding.
Infection at the incision site.
Injury to an organ (such as the bladder, urethra, or ureters).
Abscess, a pocket of pus that forms at the site of infected tissue.
Pulmonary embolism, the sudden blockage of arterial blood flow within the lung.
Urinary tract infection, when bacteria—or, more rarely, a virus or fungus—begin to grow in the urinary tract.
All surgeries that use general anesthesia have a small risk of death or complications. All surgeries carry some risk of infection.  (+ info)

can i get DLA cos i got a malignant neoplasm of the pituitary gland?

also failed my HGV medical on these grounds aswell as something about my eye ?(begins with a 'D'),DOUBLE VISION as well
i am on steriods ,and tablets,but lost my job today cos DR wouldnt pass me on dvla medical ?
----------

DLA is disabled living allowance is payable when you a an issue that affects your ability to lead a normal life and when you need assistance with day to day living issues.
Hard to get nowadays.

You will probably be able to get incapacity benefit with a malignant lesion of the pituitary gland and the best people to take you through your options are the benefits people at the Job Centre.
As a genuine claimant and having lost your job due to ill health they have to offer you a medical assessment to see what you can and cannot do. If you have double vision then your employment prospects are severely limited.

On Monday get yourself down the Job Centre and get the ball rolling as there are other benefits that may be better for you than DLA. The lower level of DLA is only about £14 a week. You will need more that that to live!  (+ info)

Question about a ureteral stent?

I had a ureteroscopic kidney stone removal a couple of days ago, surgery went fine and I'm recovering well, however the doctor had to put a stent inside me. He told me that I could take it out on Monday myself. I figured it was something that would have to be done at the doctor's office. Has anyone had this done before, and if so, is it painful to pull it out yourself? Also, I was prescribed Endocet 5/325 for pain, and it causes me to itch a bit, behind my ears in particular. No other side effects to speak of aside from the itching, but should I be concerned about it? I have been given the same medication in the past (for hernia repair) and it did the same thing, caused me to itch but nothing more, aside from the mild euphoria etc. that is associated with that particular medication but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Thanks for your help.
----------

My brother recently had the same thing (renal stent placement after kidney stone removal), I've never heard of the patient removing his own stent? (This seems very dangerous and unwise), for his removal he was given Valium 10mg 30 min. prior to the removal, then Valium 10 at the time of removal at the Urology Clinic. He said it was a bit uncomfortable but the Valium helped alot and it was not acutely painful. Itching with Endocet is not uncommon, just use a little 1% Cortisone cream for your ears (no Benadryl) and you should be ok, Endocet usually has a side effect of nightmares. Good Luck!  (+ info)

What are the common name for the breast cancer?

Breast cancer, familial
* Breast carcinoma
* Cancer of breast
* Malignant neoplasm of breast
* malignant tumour of breast
* Mammary cancer
these are the common names i've found online tell me if it is true.
----------

Those are all common names. What really matters is the pathological description of the biopsy. Most breast carcinomas are adenocarcinomas. The general name is not the important thing. The specific characteristics of the malignant breast cancer cells are important - the receptors, the degree of differentiation, nodal status, primary tumor size, overall stage. Breast cancers - and all types of cancer - are complicated. The oncologist will probably try to explain these details for the individual case you are asking about. It can be difficult for a non medical specialist to understand it all.  (+ info)

are these symptoms normal for ureteral stents.?

i have had chronic kidney stones since i was 3 months pregnant (10 through the pregnancy) i had my little girl on monday and they found out my left kidney was shut down and my right was on its way so they put in stents in both ureters. i have felt like i have to pee constantly (i know this is normal) but starting today i have been passing LARGE (size of quarters) blood clots and my urine is bright red (you cant even see through it) and having extreme pain when urinating. i called my urologist and he kind of blew me off. i just want to know if anyone else has gone through this and if its normal. i really dont want to go to the ER but im scared with the amount of blood and clots. any help would be appreciated.
----------

That is really scary I would go to the ER. It doesn't sound normal go to the ER just to make sure it isn't serious.  (+ info)

How much and how long should I bleed after a ureteral (kidney) stent is put in?

Friday afternoon I had surgery to remove a 8mm stone that was stuck in the ureter . The ureter was torn so the doctor placed a stent. After awakening from anesthesia I had incredible pain for a few hours but no noticeable bleeding. Saturday I had little pain and very little bleeding. However, today I have had moderate pain and moderate bleeding when urinating, I can barely stay awake, and when I wake up I go through a severe shivering period for about 3-5 minutes but have no fever. Is all of this normal? If so, how long should this occur? I am especially curious about the bleeding.
