What do you mean by uterine rupture when you took cytotec?

I read that cytotec can cause abortion one of the danger of taking it is uterine rupture. Any doctors or anyone who can explain it in lay mans term. What does it mean? Is there anything to do with gall bladder damaging it?
----------

Uterine rupture means the uterine (womb) wall actually tears open. Cytotec for abortion or labor induction is only given under controlled circumstances in a hospital...The uterus can contract uncontrollably and the muscle rips causing immediate hemorrhage and possibly death...  (+ info)

Why do I always have uterine cramps at 4 days past ovulation?

I've been ttc for two years and have had two miscarriages. I've noticed that every cycle I have uterine cramps at 4 dpo. Not severe like period cramps but steady dull cramps..

any idea?
yes, i am very sure.. i use opks and temp and have progesterone checked every cycle.
----------

This is normal. I do the same thing. Its your body gearing up to shed the lining of your uterus. Uterine cramps are different than the ones you may feel when your ovary contracts when releasing the egg

Ps. I miscarried twice as well. Blited ovum the first time around and then a partial molar preg the second. 2 sperm and one egg do not make a baby. But now I have a girl and a boy. I have learned babies come when they are not planned for.  (+ info)

Are there any women suffering with uterine fibroid who are not taking contraceptive pills?

I want to know if there is a connection with the pill and uterine fibroid growth.
----------

Fibroids normally happen to an hormonal imbalance in the body- excess estrogen in the system is the most common cause of fibroids in women. Contraceptive pill will normally not cause excess estrogen. Birth control pills do not affect the size of fibroids. However, birth control pill use improves heavy menstrual bleeding, which can be caused by uterine fibroids.

----------

I am 9 weeks pregnant and i have been off and one spotting since i was 6 weeks pregnant. I had period the first month i was pregnant and it lasted 6 days and it was light and had no clots. It was a reddish brown color. and the spotting that i have been having since 6 weeks is a light brown color. After both transvaginal ultrasound i spotted pink discharge but that is okay. My first spotting lasted 5 days and stopped for 11 days and then started again for 2 days and stopped again. and started a few days later and only lasted an hour. It is common in pregnancys my doctor said. He also said it can last up until your 3-4 months pregnant. He told me not to worry unless it was bright red with clots and i am filling 3-4 pads an hour.  (+ info)

How does water get into a female's uterine tube (hydrosalpinx)?

I was just eagerly cramming for my medical terminology final and happened upon the condition of hydrosalpinx, or otherwise defined as water in the uterine tubes. How does this happen? I mean, does a woman simply have Aquafina running throughout her reproductive organs? Is it condensation from hot and heavy sex? If not, how does this actually occur?
Thanks for the spam, David.
----------

My assumption would be a problem with the cells along the epithelium of the uterine tube causing them to excrete water/fluid into the lumen of the tube. I would say it would not be from sex since the cervix provides a pretty good barrier to most foreign substances, plus there is not much condensation in the female reproductive tract.
So yeah, I would say its either a cellular problem, or a problem with circulation that would normally remove excess water/fluid from the area.  (+ info)

Is hysterectomy after menopause the best answer for hormone therapy when you have uterine fibroids?

I have uterine fibroids and have gone through menopause. I desperately need HRT but due to uterine fibroids my doctor recomends hysteroctomy. I have also had steph infections in the urinary tract due to enlarged uterus. My urologists also recomends hysterectomy.
----------

if you have both doctors telling you the same thing then I say go for it ~ i never made it to menopause I had a hyst 8 years ago & all though it was a little mind boggling for me I made it through just fine & I did do hrt for about 1 month & quit due to the high risk of heart attack & stroke & death ~but I am fine without it & have no strange hair growing any where so I did well i do believeā™¦  (+ info)

Does anyone know of a connection between PMDD and uterine fibroids?

I have had PMDD for most of my live, but have just recently been diagnosed. I have now been diagnosed with uterine fibroids. I can't help but wonder if there is any connection between the two?
----------

I think that there most likely is a connection.... but not one your regular doctor will know of......
Doctors are still in the boonies on most womens conditions....their treatments often dont heal anything...
However, if you have the interest you might be fasinated with traditional chinese medicine which offers explanations and healing for many conditions including the ones you mention, and western doctors wont even talk about because it doesnt fit their 'protocol'..... search for your condition along with traditional chinese medicine or articles by dr. subhuti dharmananda  (+ info)

What Is the Best Treatment for Uterine Fibroids?

So what exactly is the best treatment for uterine fibroids? I have been suffering from the symptoms caused by uterine fibroids for some while now and would really like to find the best treatment to cure this problem! Are Hysterectomy or medications any good for treating fibroids?
----------

My sister used to have uterine fibroids few years ago and she tried the medications, but they didn't work very well for her. Then she was recommended to try natural uterine fibroid treatments and that worked really well for her. So I suppose I could say that it ended up being the best treatment for her, because it cured her fibroids and she hasn't have any recurrent fibroids ever since..

Anyway to heal or cure uterine fibroids without drugs and surgery? Like naturally or with herbal remedies?

I was recently diagnosed with uterine fibroids and my doctor offered me options that I don't like - drugs and surgery. I am searching for alternatives and wanted to know if anyone has maybe tried a homeopathic or herbal remedy that they could recommend. I would have asked my doctor but don't believe I would get an objective answer. I'm deathly afraid of surgery and hate taking drugs. I'm african-american and 28 years old and want children in the future. Thanks in advance.
