where can I rent or buy a home uterine monitor to monitor contractions at home?

I am looking to buy or rent a home uterine monitor device. What are some companies that sell them? Do they have websites?
----------

I currently use the home monitoring system by Alere. It's a rental system that tracks your contractions 2x's, or as needed per day. I think it's very cost effective, at about $64 a day w/o insurance. The uterine monitor works like this:

1. put the uterine belt around your waist near your belly button.
2. leave the uterine monitor on for 1 hr.
3. transfer the data over the phone line
4. a nurse will call you within 30 mins w/ the results

It's a great and very easy program. Here's the link.

Has anyone had a successful pregnany with tine uterine lining?

My uterine lining is only 5.8, can I have a successful prenancy.
----------

i am not familiar with uterine lining measurements. i know that if you have a luteal phase deficiency, you will not have sufficient progesterone to make a thick uterine lining. have you discussed this with your ob/gyn? sounds like you would benefit from seeing a reproductive endocrinologist. i'm sorry that i can't be of more assistance. at least you have some information to work with. have faith that if 5.8 is not sufficient that the doctor will provide whatever treatment is necessary to improve the quality of your endomitrium to make it optimum for implanation. have faith  (+ info)

Friend diagnosed with uterine cancer with no health insurance. What should she do?

My friend recently got diagnosed with uterine cancer. She is only 26 years old and does not have health insurance. She cannot afford the diagnostic procedure they want to do to remove the cancer. (D and C?) Is there any program that you know of that can help her? Her daughter is on medical.
----------

most states have emergency catastropic medicaid. she can call her county health department, or talk to the social service department at the hospital in her community. there are a few programs out there. this is another reason to pass universal health care. how awful. im sorry.  (+ info)

Is it dangerous to have a tear in the uterine wall during the first trimester of pregnancy?

My daughter is 11 weeks pregnant and went into her doctor because she was bleeding quite a bit. The doctor did an ultra sound and said she has a tear in her uterine wall. He sent her home on bed rest. I was just wondering if this is dangerous for either her or the baby. Will she be on bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy?
----------

He should have told you guys that, or you should have asked. It'll only take a few minutes to make a call to your doctor so if I were you I'd do that. But if she's on bed rest it must be serious. Good luck, I hope everything goes well!  (+ info)

How can one get a health insurance company to pay for a back inversion table?

The insurance company says that a back inversion table is experimental, therefore, not covered. How can one get a device paid by the insurance company that would benefit the insured? The inversion table would expand the spine, allowing blood and other fluid to flow more freely.
----------

The table sounds good, but the problem is that :

1 - insurance companies pay for as little as possible
2 - there is little evidence to show a benefit to the table.  (+ info)

What day of your cycle does your uterine lining begin to shed, if you aren't pregnant?

I am wondering if you do not conceive on what day of your cycle might the uterine lining start to shed (like how many days BEFORE the first day of your period does this process start?) My cycles are pretty regular 28 day cycles. I am TTC, and we did the BD on my fertile days this month - my period should start @ Nov. 9th and I'm wondering if the twinges I just felt could be implantation OR uterine lining shedding....thanks!
----------

The shedding of the lining is your period.
So it's the 28th day of your cycle.  (+ info)

Gravity inversion tables-What brands are good and which are junk? How do you go about starting your regiment?

What kind do you have? Do you think it is good quality? Has it helped your back? Do you need to do a full inversion to get good results or can you just go 1/4 of the way down? How long do you invert for? How many times a day do you do it? Please advise if you think they would help for someone with a degenerated and hernated discs? Do you know of a good book or information about how to do it? Do you start out with just a little inversion for a little time and work your way with more inversion and longer time? Or can you just go full inversion for as long as you can take it? Thank you all for your comments...
----------

Be aware that if you have degenerated or herniated disk you might have weak knees or other connective tissue issues. Inversion is good but only if you are healthy. It is tough on connective tissue.
Find a store that is willing to let you try it and make sure the boots are well padded and comfortble and that you feel secure once inverted. Ease in returning rightside up is important too. Once you try a few then shop for it at the best price or pay a little more at your helpfull fitness store. The few extra bucks can be worth it in service.  (+ info)

During my menstrual period, when I feel the uterine lining or a gush of blood coming out, it feels warm and really pleasurable. Friends told me that it is strange that I think so, and I am wondering who else likes the sensation of something warm and soft like this exiting the vagina.
----------

Inversion table safe after lasik? Can people sleep while being partially inverted?

I have back pain and is looking for whatever way to fall asleep easier. I had lasik done so was wondering if its safe doing inversion therapy after lasik can't find anything on google about it.
----------

It depends on how long ago you had lasik, if it was recently, I don't recommend doing inversion therapy. It is best to just try to relax where you are and not disturb the eye's healing process. But, generally inversion therapy will not damage or affect your eye.  (+ info)
