I got a wart on my index finger about two years ago and have tried every over the counter remedy to remove it. The problem is- now I have several smaller warts that have appeared and I cannot get rid of them! Its frustrating and they are sooo unsightly! Got any suggestions on how I can safely and effectively remove them?

How can I get rid of genital warts at home?

I am an adult male and the warts are small (either single or in little clusters) on the shaft of my penis. I have used home wart freezing kits and they do go away, but most of the time come back.
----------

It is true that treating yourself with freezing kits will help the warts on the surface of the skin go away for awhile, but you really need to begin to attack the virus itself living underneath your skin. To prevent future outbreaks, try arming yourself with a DAILY vitamin regiment (not just when you have an outbreak). Taking a good multivitamin (like Men's One-A-Day or Centrum), vitamin C (about 2,000 to 4,000 mg DAILY **), vitamin E, astragalus, garlic (comes in odorless pill form),echinacea, vitamin B complex (at least 50 mg of each form of B-vitamin 3x daily), and zinc tablets(sold as lozenges and liquid form) will help boost your immune system and keep breakouts from occuring frequently. All these are sold at health food stores, such as GNC, or drugstores. Also healthy living i.e. leafy greens, high fiber and protein, soluble fats, no trans fat, lots of water, low sugar and salt intake, exercising regularly, good amounts of rest...all of these things play an important role in your overall health and wellness and will ultimately help you to boost your immune system, which will help you fight infections and breakouts of warts.

**The vitamin C should be taken throughout the course of the day, not at one time. You can take anywhere from 2,000 to 4,000 mg but you should only take as much as your body will allow. Start at 2,000 mg and gradually increase until you notice changes in your bowel movements (runny, diarrhea). Also get the vitamin C with ester. Ester helps your body absorb more of the vitamin, as vitamin C is water soluble and will be expelled in large quantity in your urine.  (+ info)

What is the best way to get rid of warts?

I have 4 warts on one hand and a very very tiny one on the other. I have tried everything. I even heard on the news that duct tape works. It got rid of one however but the others didn't go away. I've even tried acne medication. It made 2 go away but they came back. I've tried that Compound W patches AND freeze off remover...the freeze off remover severly burned my skin. AND THAT COMPOUND W IS CRAP. It doesn't work.

Home remedies do work however...and I wanted to know some more home remedies. If you have any good ones let me know.

Just for the record acne medication has salicylic acid in it and that is a wart medication as well. So if you have warts give that a try.

My family physician said to eat lots of green foods which are high in folic acid or to take a daily folic acid 0.4mg suppliment. It seemed to work for me.  (+ info)

How do I get rid of warts on my scrotum?

I've had warts on the edge of my scrotum (where it meets my leg) for a while. I don't think they are genital warts because I am a virgin and I understand genital warts is an STD. They consist of a cluster of greyish-purple clumps. I have tried wart remover which works for a week or two but then they come back. What are they and how do I get rid of them?
----------

You do not have to have had intercourse for it to be HPV (genital warts) - you can get them by other milder types of sexual contact including just skin to skin contact and fondlin or fellatio. but they are generally on the penis not scrotum but it does sound like them by your descrition. Usually warts do come back even after using wart remover. It only removes the top layer of skin (the bump) but not the root which is VERY deep. There really is no cure for HPV but a Dr would be a better way to confrim what it is and possibly remove it to the core. They sometimes come back them, and sometimes dont. It could also be pimples, or ingrown hair. A Dr could tell.  (+ info)

How do I prevent plantar warts from spreading?

I have about 3 plantar warts on my foot. Recently, more have been appearing. How do I prevent that?
----------

Soak a flat cotton pad in some Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar (the only kind you can use for this) and the put it on the wart for as long as you can stand it. Do this every other day until its gone or looks dead, for at least 20 minutes and you will notice it turning black and falling off.  (+ info)

Warts and tags are continously appearing on my body, do some one have any solution to get rid of it?

It's been two years now since these warts and tags start appearing on my body specially, on neck and armpits.
I am 47 years old, weighing 99 Kg, diabetic type 1 without having medicines.

A skin doctor can remove these easily and tell you more about what causes them and if there are any concerns.  (+ info)

How long does it take to clear genital warts after first treatment?

I just had my first genital wart treatment today; I did the one where the clinician paints on the podophyllin stuff onto the warts and you wash it off 6 hours later. So, I just washed it off.. How long should it take until I see any real results?
----------

I use the same treatment - MAKE SURE ITS ALL WASHED OFF!
Or you will have /extreme/ discomfort (skin gets burned off). It doesn't wash off with alittle cloth or soap, really get it off.
My results were significant within the first 2 weeks, they were 80% clear!
I am still undergoing the treatment I am at week 5, out of the 6.
You should be clear after week 6 depending on your severity/immune system.
Taking Vitamin C tablets everyday definately progresses the treatment/help!
Even when you are cleared you need to work on preventing another outbreak and avoid sexual contact with (not sure if still) infected partner, he/she will only increase your viral load. You can get the HPV to the point where it is dormant within your body.
I wish you luck on your treatment. Its not the end of the world!  (+ info)

What are the symptoms of warts caused by hpv in the mouth and if no symptoms what do they look like?

I'm just curious to what symptoms of warts in your mouth are. I have not involved myself in any oral sex what so ever, but i'm not sure if i came in contact with someone who could possibly had them in their mouth. I tend to overreact but this is a special matter that i would like to not worry about any longer. So if anyone has any info, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
----------

You can't get genital warts in your mouth. Warts look like warts. You might have saw herpes on the mouth and that is very contagious so stay away from that person.  (+ info)
