How do I get rid of warts with clear nail polish?

I was reading an insert in my newspaper advertising "Extraordinary Uses for Ordinary Things" by Readers Digest. I don't want to buy the book but was wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of warts with clear nail polish. Please give as many details as possible. Thanks!
----------

Instructions: every morning and night put clear nail polish on your warts, and within a week they will come off. My friend had tried every thing from getting them burned off, prescription meds, soaking them then trying to clip them off with finger nail clippers nothing worked until she went to a new manicurist and they mentioned it, I was amazed I hope it works for somebody else.  (+ info)

I just started treatment, but I want to know how long to wait before becoming sexually active again. Even after they clear, can I spread them to others? I have so many questions and I really didn't get any answers from my doctor.

How to remove warts on feet, even though I go swimming often?

I have a few warts on my feet and i have tried for ages to remove them, but it go swimming several times a week so it is difficult to keep them covered and dry for an extended period.
I've tried wart creams and bandaids but nothing has worked.
I wear thongs at the pool etc, but they wont go away. What can I do to get rid of them without having to stop swimming for weeks?
----------

Warts aren't usually the easiest things to get rid of. A lot of people end up going to the doctor to have them surgically removed which can be painful and cost a lot of money.

There are some natural methods you can try. One is by using banana peels to remove warts.

All you need to do is take a piece of banana peel, cut it a little bigger than the wort and place it on top of the wart. Make sure to place the inside of the peel on top of the wart.

Then, tape down the peel by using duct tape or a bandaid. The goal is to keep moisture and dirt out. You will need to replace the peel 1-2 times a day.

Now, this method does work but you will need to give it 2-3 weeks to work. So it does take patience. But people that have tried this method have had great success.

Normally, when the peel has done its job, the wart will turn white or black and fall off.

Hope this helps. If you're looking for something faster, maybe this could help you out.

There are also several over-the-counter options. The most common ones involve salicylic acid. These products are readily available at most drugstores and supermarkets. There are typically two types of products: adhesive pads treated with salicylic acid, or a bottle of concentrated salicylic acid.

Removing warts with this method requires a strict regimen of cleaning the area, applying the salicylic acid, and removing the dead skin with a pumice stone or emery board. It may take up to 12 weeks to remove a stubborn wart.

Another over-the-counter product that can aid in wart removal is silver nitrate in the form of a Caustic Pencil, which is also available at drug stores. This method generally takes three to six daily treatments to be effective. The instructions must be followed to minimize staining of skin and clothing.

Over-the-counter cryosurgery kits are also available, however often costing 3 times as much as other over-the-counter products.

Like prescription treatments, over-the-counter treatments usually require multiple applications, and are only necessary if the warts are problematic. Additionally, these treatments are capable of destroying healthy skin as well as warts, so caution must be exercised by those attempting them without medical supervision.

Duct tape occlusion therapy involves placing a piece of duct tape (or medical tape) over the affected area for a week at a time. The procedure is otherwise identical to that of using salicylic acid adhesive pads. Studies revealed the duct tape method is 85% effective.

Other household remedies include the application of common household things, such as banana skin, vinegar, hot water and washing liquid, or unskinned potatoes, to the affected area. Accounts vary in regards to how long they must be applied in each session and how long they take to work.

Without controlled studies for most household remedies, it is difficult to know whether the warts disappear because the remedies work, or if they disappear due to the individual's own immune system response to the virus.

The success of hypnosis in curing warts at least suggests that the condition may be cured by belief in a remedy, the placebo effect or other psychological means.

Some household remedies are potentially dangerous. These include attempts to cut or burn away the warts. Incense is sometimes used in Asian countries to burn warts. These methods are very painful, and can lead to infection and/or permanent scarring  (+ info)

What medication is used to treat genital warts to prevent from having outbreaks?

Hi I saw an answer to a question and the lady said that there is medication you can use to keep from getting an outbreak. I get them all the time right before I get my period for about a day or two and it is very uncomfortable sometimes I want to cry. What is the name of this medication...thank you. As soon as I get an answer I am calling my doc and asking them to prescribe it for me they know I have gential warts.
----------

see your doctor, who may prescribe a medicine for you to apply to the warts or may administer one of a number of treatments himself or herself. Medicines that can be applied include
podophyllin trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and

Condylox, which kill the wart tissue, or

Aldara, a cream that stimulates your immune system to fight the virus.  (+ info)

How do you get rid of genital warts? Preferably an at home remedy?

I was wondering how to get rid of genital warts without going to the doctor. have heard milkweed works. Is thia true? Has anyone ever tried it? Any other at home remedies? Please help!
----------

I wouldn't use any "at home remedies". It's much easier to just them treated by a doctor.

Every person is different. What works well for others, may not work well for you. There are several different ways a person can get rid of them.

A doctor can prescribe a cream that the person can use at their convenience and at their home. Aldara cream and Condylox cream are available with a prescription.

If these creams don't work or the doctor doesn't want to try them, the doctor might suggest applying medication at the office. This is done by the doctor, is done in several visits and can be pretty expensive. Some of the medications that can be used include: Podophyllin resin (Podofin), Intralesional (injected into wart lesion) interferon, Fluorouracil (Efudex, Fluoroplex), and Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) or bichloroacetic acid (BCA).

A person can also have surgery to remove genital warts by freezing (cryosurgery), burning (electrocautery), or laser treatment. Surgery is occasionally used to remove large warts that have not responded to other treatment.

Although treatments can get rid of the warts, they do not get rid of HPV, so warts can recur after treatment. The body's immune system typically clears the virus anywhere from 8 to 13 months, but it occasionally remains in the body for a lifetime.  (+ info)

Any home remedies to get rid of warts on hands?

I have 4 warts on one finger--one is huge and goes around the nail at bottom and side. I have used the apple cider vinegar but they did come back. OTC remedies have not helped. Can someone give me more ideas?
----------

Yes. A very easy method and very cheap.

Cover each wart and a small area around it with either clear nail varnish or clear glue. Remove this coating in the afternoon and recoat the warts. They should disappear in a matter of 1 to 2 weeks.

This is not old wives' tales. There is a scientific explanation. The reason why this simple method works is that warts are caused by virus which need air to survive. When you cut off their air supply under a good layer of nail varnish or glue, the virus will eventually die.

The coat of glue or nail varnish will eventually crack as you use your hands and flex your fingers during the day. That's why it has to be removed and replaced by a fresh coat relatively frequently.

All the best!  (+ info)

How can i get rid of Genital Warts without burning my skin?

I was diagnosed with genital warts a few months ago and the doctor gave me Condylox Gel it is painful and burns the surrounding skin if you're not careful. Does anyone know of any Natural treatments that doesn't involve burning the HELL out of Penis. I already seen a doctor and i don't have insurance to keep going back to see him. Can anyone help?
----------

if you really want to get rid of genital warts forever then you should know that you can remove genital warts by surgery, freezing, laser, acid or cream but genital warts can reappear again and again because genital warts appears when your immune system is weak!

HPV is the virus that causes genital warts. People can be infected with HPV and never show any symptoms. Others will develop genital warts. These warts can stay the same size, grow, or go away on their own. It largely depends on the infected person's immune system. A healthy immune system means your body may be able to suppress the virus and not show symptoms.

Even after the warts go away, the person will always remain infected with HPV. That person can spread the virus even without showing symptoms.

so you must build up your immune system because your body can get rid of genital warts by itself if your immune system will be strong! so eat more healthy food, more vitamins and more sport activities! (No smoking, no beer/ale, no booze, no drugs, no junk food, no fast food garbage, no sugary sweet soda's. Get on a good, balanced, healthy diet including plenty of boiled or steamed vegetables.
Drink P L E N T Y O F W A T E R , fruit juices & fat free milk. Snack on lots of RAW fruit & veggies. Get up one hour early every morning & take a BRISK 30 minute walk - then - do the same thing again in the evening after dinner. Make sure you eat a good, balanced breakfast daily. You get your energy for the day from your breakfast meal. Get 8 hours sleep each night. Flip your mattress over so it will level out to give you a good night's rest. Slack off too much coffee & tea) also you must use herbal treatment!

in that case Wartrol is really good (probably the best) product that gets rid of genital warts comparatively fast and makes you feel more confident knowing that they wont reappear again! It works by stimulating your immune system to fight the HPV virus that causes the warts. of course it is better if you use full course (5 months - if I remember correctly).

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Wartrol but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here

http://www.wartrol.com/?aid=749165

The advantage of Wartrol over other natural treatments for genital warts is that, since it is taken orally, it also acts on invisible and internal genital warts that CAN NOT BE treated by other creams and natural remedies.

good luck!

How do I get rid of unsightly warts and skin tags on my eyelids?

I've noticed over the last few years more and more skin tags and warts appearing on my eyelids and under my eyebrows. Is there a quick and cheap way to get rid of them?
----------

See a dermatologist or ophthalmologist, but it won't be covered under insurance because it is cosmetic.

Honestly...I always remove my own skin tags, even off my eyelids. However, I have training and some very sharp, fine scissors that I know how to use!  (+ info)
