Can Polyps in Maxiliary sinuses lead to Cancer?

I have some polyps in my maxiliary sinuses. And I have a strange snoring trouble. I can feel the polyps by touching the sides of my jaw. Will it lead to cancer or can i go for some surgeory/ Currently I am taking medicines.
----------

Polyps are common teardrop-shaped growths that form around the openings to the sinus cavities. A polyp resembles a peeled, seedless grape. Unlike polyps in the colon or bladder, polyps in the nose are not tumors and DO NOT SUGGEST an increased RISK OF CANCER. They are merely a reflection of inflammation, although there may be a family history of the problem. The doctor may perform a biopsy of the polyp to ensure that it is not a cancer.-  (+ info)

What are sinus polyps and should I have them removed?

Ive had reocurring allergy symptoms for a few years now and they have been getting worse. I got a xray scan and they found small polyps in my nose. Now, could they be messing with my allergies and creating mucus runoff towards the back of my throat? Should I have them surgically removed?
----------

I had them burnt out of my nose about 4 years ago, and it was the best decision I have even made. My nose bled for a couple of weeks after, which is normal, but since them I have had no problems. I would definitely look at having them removed.  (+ info)

Is there a natural way(no surgery) to shrink nasal polyps?

I have had three operations for nasal polyps and they are back again. The ENT is reluctant to operate once more. Can Caster Oil shrink polyps? I have frequent sinus infections and I am at a loss as to what to do.
----------

my aunt has the same condition and so does my cousin, and both of them had to get surgery. They tried the various remedies but nothing seemed to work. For them the surgery is what ended the polyps.  (+ info)

Anyone pregnant and has polyps in the uterus?

I am TTC and my ultrasound revealed an abnormal uterus possibly with polyps. I will be undergoing a sonohystogram to confirm findings. Most likely, I will opt to have the polyps remove. I read that these polyps can act as an IUD in preventing implantation and that it is best to remove them before continuing TTC. At the same time, I read that some women have polyps and still get pregnant and carry a child to term. Anyone pregnant and has polyps, did you go on to have a healthy pregnancy? Thanks.

is it safe for nine month old to get the nasal polyps removed surgically?

My niece is nine month old and she is been diagnose with really bad nasal polyps, and the doctor said they have to remove. But my and
I sister are scared to do so, But it is so bad that my sister and the baby haven't slept more than an hour a time since she was born. So i was just wondering is it safe for a little one like that. PLEASE HELP WE ARE SCARED.
THANK YOU.

Yes it's safe, there is also the option of talking to the Dr, performing the surgery and clearing up any concerns you may have that make you fear the surgery. I know what it's like to have a little one in the hands of a surgeon, but you have to put your faith in them, you could also get a second opinion, but in the long run I would trust my Dr, and have him go through the entire procedure and what the risks are to remove or not remove the polyps..  (+ info)

Cysts and polyps in sinus cavities, should I get surgery?

I have been experiencing increasing amounts of headaches in the last couple years.

Found out, with an MRI, that my sinus cavities have alot of cysts and polyps in them, and that could be causing my headaches and dizziness.

My doctor said that it was up to me to have them removed.

Has anyone experianced this, did you get relief from a surgery, is it worth it????

Thanks for helping me out!
----------

I had 3 polyps in my sinus cavity, and had them removed. It's been about 15 years now. I still have problems with my sinus as far as congestion and pressure, but I have none of the pain I had before the surgery.

For me I would do again because I was in terrible pain and it was causing alot of sinus infections, so even though I still have problems with my sinus I say it was worth it.  (+ info)

How do I cure my nasal polyps?

I have been suffering from nasal polyps for the last year or so.

It has now got to the point where my right nostril is completely blocked and I dont have any sense of taste or smell.

I have a hospital appointment in a few weeks however i want to know if there is anything available that can reduce the size of the polyps in the meantime. Steroid drops for example.
----------

Sorry man, the only thing that is going to work is surgery. The procedure is fairly delicate but the recovery is not bad and the improvement can be more than worth the discomfort.  (+ info)

I have nasal polyps, and have had multiple surgeries, what do I do?

Prednisone only helps for like two weeks. I have had two polypectomys within months of each other, polyps return after only a month or two. Also I had Image Guided Sinus Surgery, which that was done in march and polyps are already back. I get allergy shots, take singulair, nasonex, astelin, zyrtec, and gentamicin nasal irrigation. I do not want to go under another surgery. What else can I do?
----------

Cut off your nose to spite your face.

Seriously, though. What else are you supposed to do? If there was another way, then the doctors would have told you. It's not like they enjoy doing surgery up your nose.

Is it possible that you are overmedicating yourself and that is irritating them, rather than helping?  (+ info)

do i become pregant if found that i have a fallopian polyps?

After almost four months taking clomid I didn't got pregnant, so my ob requires me to have a test on my fallopian tube if theres something there, so she found out that theres a polyps (1.5cm) on my right fallopian tube, left fallopian tube is functioning good. Does it affect of not getting pregnant?
----------

yes, polyps has a great effect for not being pregnant. the best thing to do is to remove those polyps so ur follicle will grow. those follicle is the basis to get u pregnant. clomid wont effect if polyps are still there. u r just wasting ur money and time. so better go to ur ob for further info and instructions.  (+ info)
