I was doing a self-exam when i noticed a lump on my cervic, i dont know if it is a cervical cysts or polyps?

I know it is not cervical cancer caused by HPV because i have normal pap test from my OBGYN...i was looking online at pictures and website's but it says no treatment is necessary and they will go away but then why does is instruct me to go get checked out with my doctor...can cervical cysts or polyps led to infertility? also what causes them to come up?
----------

It instructs you to see your doctor because no one can feel the difference between an abnormal cancer bump, and a normal cyst bump. There is no reason for these to show up, they just do! Some people think they are clogged mucous glands. They don't interfere with fertility unless they get huge and in the way, bleed, or evolve into something else.  (+ info)

What to do when you have recurring nasal polyps and surgery isn't helping. How can you get rid of them?

Can they be shrunk? What alternative is there to having multiple surgeries? They just come back
----------

I used multiple courses of antibiotics along with steroid tapers. Helped while I was on it, but polyps came right back. I also used a steroid nasal spray (like Flonase or Nasonex.) I had the surgery which helped quite a bit, but they did recur. I ended up going to an allergist and we worked very aggressively to manage my allergies better (I was put on Clarinex and Singulair along with the Flonase.) I haven't had a problem since.  (+ info)

Does polyps cause your lower abdomen to bloat?

I'm going to have surgery, I was wondering does polyps cause your abodmen to bloat and swell at all? I just found out that I have 8 vaginal polyps inside me that are going to get removed.
----------

Depending on the size of the polyp it is possible that it could cause bloating and swelling in the lower abdominal area.

I am going to give you the link to a site that may help you find more information. The link is at: http://forums.obgyn.net/womens-health  (+ info)

How to get rid of vocal polyps aside from voice rest and keep it hyrated by drinking plenty of water?

It's been 3 weeks since the last visit to the doctor... the improvement is less than what i've expected...i thought by now i could speak with more vocal strength and longer period...i avoided caffeine, nuts and chocolates...is there anything i need to do to resolve this ASAP without surgery?
----------

It took me 3 years to get close to my full vocal range back after i initially lost my voice due to polyps. The problem i had was right when i thought i was getting better, i'd go out and aggrivate them again. I took 10 months off away from singing, alcohol, smoking, and yelling... and it came back fairly quickly. I still had nuts and caffine and chocolate... But it was the strain i avoided. I honestly thought i'd never get my voice back.

I avoid spicy foods and anything that causes indigestion (acid reflux can aggrivate them again). Its not a quick recovery - i'm sorry someone let you believe it would be. 3 weeks is chump change - brace yourself for the long haul. It sucks - i know, i had to give up a recording contract!!   (+ info)

Has any of your wives ever had any polyps inside of her?

My wife started her period and she's 55 and she had to have an ultrasound and they want her to see a specialist because she might have a polyp. Would the procedure hurt her. She can't stand needles.
----------

I've had polyps in my uterus. It caused bleeding all time. I had the polyp removed with a D&C and also had an endometrial ablation. It worked great. I was put to sleep for the procedure so it wasn't painful. I had a little discomfort afterwards but it wasn't bad at all.  (+ info)

surgery to remove polyps and fibroid no period yet can i get pregnant?

had surgery to remove polyps and fibroid on June 13. removed laproscopically. period normally comes around the 27th of the month.
----------

Hi,
This is one of those tough decisions where you cannot get pregnant if you don't get those removed. On the other hand, if you get the surgery, that may also result in scar formation and prevent you from getting pregnant.
If you haven't had the surgery yet, try to find out if they can give you the injection to reduce those growths. As far as I know it is an available option. You just get the injection at precise locations targeting the fibroids and those shrink. You can find out if that can be done for the polyps though.
Have patience, you may get lucky soon !
Good luck !  (+ info)

Can cervical polyps cause sex to be painful?

I've read/heard about them causing bleeding, or often having no symptoms at all, but can they actually cause so much pain as to make sex impossible, or would there have to be another cause?
----------

I'm sure that cervical polyps could cause pain with sex, however if you’re experiencing pain during or after sex there may be several factors that are contributing to the pain you feel. For women there are a number of physical conditions that may make sex hurt, including:

* Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
* Endometriosis
* Ovarian cysts
* Interstitial cystitis
* Vaginismus
* Vulvodynia
* Some sexually transmitted diseases
* Urinary infections
* Yeast infections
* Vaginal dryness
* Physical injury and chronic pain

I would recommend that if you experience pain during or after sex that you consult with your doctor/gynaecologist for further evaluation and ask them whether having a cervical polyp could cause pain with sex or to rule out any serious causes.

Good luck :)  (+ info)

I had a syst removed in september that was precancerous? I now have precancerous polyps? Is it curable really?

The tumor removed in September was on my left ovary which was removed as well. As a follow I had a ct scan which showed fluid in my abdomen and my oncologist suggested I have a colonoscopy. During this there were two polyps found which proved to have precancerous cells. It seems that removing the mass in September wasn't effective enough. Or was it? And is removing the polyps enough?
----------

During a colonoscopy they should remove any abnormal findings. They have the equipment to do so. You don't say if they took those out. It's ALWAYS best to remove precancerous cells as they can likely turn cancerous. Best to take them out before that happens. Ask the dr's office if they are removed when they found those if you are not sure.

An ovarian cyst is NOT the same as and not related to colon polyps. They are 2 seperate items. It does seem from the sound of this though that you have cancer risks. BE SURE TO eat high fiber to keep your colon in best prevention for that now (25 grams of fiber is recommended daily). Look on the package of foods to see what has this. I had pasta today that has 6 grams of fiber in it (that is a big amount for a serving actually). It's called ronzoni smart taste. There are also whole wheat breads that have up to 5 grams of fiber per slice. Try cereals also as they have fiber sometimes. Check the back of the box to see if there is some in what you pick.

IF you don't eat that much fiber now, slowly increase the amount so to not get it " stuck" in the colon.That causes digestive upsets if you eat it all at one time from the start.

I would take vitamins a, c, and e also. These are antioxidants and help prevent / protect from any cell changes. Those vitamins should be taken as beta carotene in the vitamin A. The limit is 25,000 units. Vitamin C should be at 500 mg. The vitamin E is trickier as that has mixed reports on it. BEST to use that one at not more than 200 mg. DAILY use of all three of these at once are great for your health in protecting cells.

Also eat many fresh fruits and vegetables. They are very good to avoid cancers. Blueberries and pomegranates have the highest form of anti cancer properties in them.

As long as they took the precancerous cells out that is the way they know to cure or remove the threat of cancer best. Also, for breast health protection 400 i.u. of vitamin d is great. The bottle of this I have shows it helps one's immunity.  (+ info)
