Bone Cysts?

We just came from the ER, my daughter fell and apparently broke a growth plate in her ankle. She also twisted her knee and during the xray found a bone cyst....Does anyone know what this could possibly mean?
----------

DON'T WORRY ABOUT BONE CYST IT WILL DISAPPEAR AFTER 2 WEEKS.
MORE TO WORRY ABOUT IS FRACTURE IN THE GROWTH PLATE. GROWTH PLATE IS THE PART WHERE THE BONE GET NUTRITION AND YOUNG BONE GROWS. BONE GROWTH CAN BE LITTLE IMPAIRED IN THE FUTURE BUT NOT ALWAYS  (+ info)

Are ganglion cysts with bone islands bad?

I've been having limited motion and pain (lifting heavy objects, even doing nothing at all) on my left wrist ever since I noticed a recurring ganglion appearing (even after surgery to remove it) right on the actual wrist part. Upon having x-rays at the orthopedic medical office, 2 bone islands were found. What should I do? Is this bad? Is it removable?
----------

Since I have ganglion cysts of the hand, this Question interested me.

When I researched "bone islands", I found them defined as either enostosis or enchondroma and classified as benign (noncancerous) bone tumors. I didn't find any connection between the ganglion cysts and bone islands, but then I'm not an orthopedist.

I have had one ganglion cyst removed from the base of my middle finger, and now I have another one high on the palm of that same hand.

I'm sorry that I couldn't provide an Answer about your diagnosis and treatment, but this Question may be too advanced for most Yahoo Answers participants. Your physician would probably be your best resource in this matter.  (+ info)

My baby is 6 months old and she have this lump under her colar bone. We think its a cysts. What should we do?

Its getting bigger I think, and a little pink/red. I'm worry that she has to go into surgery. She's only 6 months old..
I took her to the doctor and he gave her a big bottle of cephalexin but its not helping. I'm just really worry.
----------

You are probably so worried right now! The only thing you can do is go to her pediatrician and see what he/she says. Pre pare for the worst, but hope for the best. I hope she's OK  (+ info)

i have this knot under my left ear near my jaw bone i was wondering if it could be a cysts it keeps growing?

and it is sore and it hurts up in my ear also

Consult with your physician. It will require a biopsy to determine what it is and if it is benign or malignant.  (+ info)

Have you ever heard of a bone cyst and are they bad to have?

I fractured my toe a few days ago and found out now I have lots of bone cysts in my foot. I see them on the xray. They are small but there. Is this normal? I'm 45 years old. I also have Sarcoidosis Disease and I'm wondering if that has anything to do with the cysts.

Does anyone know about bone cysts?

My hubby has/had leg pain when he walks. He went to the Dr. and the Dr. ordered xrays... the xrays showed several cysts in his bones in his left ankle. I'm so worried! He has a MRI on Friday.... I hope its not as serious as it sounds. Anyone know anything about this?
----------

It is serious, but it sounds like your doctor is dealing with it in an apropriate way. If it is indeed cysts he may be prescribed a medication as a first treatment. Also I agree with the above there is lots of good web help and ino out there. I love the mayo clinic web site.

Is there any way to break my cycle of recurring facial cysts?

The first time I had ever developed a cyst was last year in the fall/winter. It was on my left cheek, right where the cheek bone is. After several months, it finally went away. However, there is still discoloration where it used to be, and I can still feel the remnants of it where it used to be if I feel for it.

Unfortunately, after a few months, a new cyst began forming a couple centimeters beneath the old one (or rather, where it used to be and where the discoloration is now). It is now full-blown and noticeable.

My question to y'all is this: I'm going to the dermatologist next Wednesday, so should I request for it to be surgically removed, or should I bring up cortisone? I've read that cysts are nothing more than a "thin sac of skin-like material containing a substance composed of skin secretions," according to the second edition of the Merck Manual. It also states that the "thin sac wall" must be removed *completely* or the cyst will grow back.
Could that be the cause of this second cyst? Since the first one went away on its own without anything being removed (we went to the doctor too late; it had already begun to "heal" itself), could it have triggered my current one? Also, seeing as how I'm 17, is my "cystic acne" just linked to my adolescence, or will it follow me into adulthood and beyond?

Thank you all so much for your input/advice.

Cysts are the worst things in the world, and everyone has them...
well, at least I do too.

I actually have two on my scalp!! (I know. its GROSS)

so if i run my fingers through my hair, there are two giant bumps. they are like hard, thick, pimples that won't pop and grow back.

even if you get them surgically removed, they do grow back... or at least that's been my experience......

If i didn't have them, I would so shave my head.

btw, I love you and your answers.  (+ info)

What is the cause of cysts on my back?

Along the top of my right pelvic bone near the spine I have a number of large soft cysts. This is a weak point in my body and I keep pulling a muscle here which is painful and debilitating. I don't have these on the left side and experience no problems there. Is this a build up of toxins, blockage in a meridian, or what? How can I get rid of them and/or heal this area?
----------

suggest you consult a surgeon for removal of the cysts, and perhaps a neurologist for any nerve issues you may be having, not to mention a dermatologist to see if there is a skin issue leading to the cysts.  (+ info)

Does anyone know of any good supplements that help regenerate jaw bone?

I just found out that due to several jaw surgeries, I have complete bone loss on the right side of my upper jaw. There was a cyst growing which I had removed. The doctors that I have seen are specialists yet they have no idea why the cysts had formed. They also informed me that I will be losing all my teeth in that area of my jaw. However, if I can find something to help me regenerate the bone, my teeth very well may be saved. Please help! I am only 37 and I will end up with a mouth of an 80 year old if I can't find a way to rebuild my jaw bone. Thank you!
