how do i prevent razor bumps and burns when shaving with an electric razor?

i only get this on my neck.
----------

Sounds like you might be overdoing it in this area.

Razor burn occurs when your skin gets too irritated by the motion of the razor blades - wet shaving is better because of the lubrication.
Razor bumps occur when you shave too close to the skin and the hairs become ingrown. Again wet shaving is better as you can go against the grain easily which reduces razor bumps.

If you must use an electric razor, have a look into some shaving oil you can use. This will ease the burn you get.
Also, try not to shave so close, maybe go over the area a bit less - just to leave a tiny bit of hair sticking out for when it grows back.  (+ info)

My friend had spinal injury and 20% burns due to electric shock. Can it be operated? What is the success rate?

Due to spinal injury ,the portion of body below the hip is senseless. urine and motion normal. He is 30 year old. Accident occurred on 19th May 10. Pl advice
----------

Only his doctors can answer those questions. But the success rate with spinal surgery is quite good, depending on the severity and location of the injury. The most important part of treatment for spinal injuries is getting treatment in the first 24 hours to reduce swelling. You, or his family, need to talk to his doctors about it.  (+ info)

wats the best way to avoid burns with an electric shaver?

i have a remington one, but when im done shaving its never really that clean and sometimes there a red burn marks that last around my neck for a couple days. is there any product to use wiht electric shavers that fix theses things?
----------

Don't hold it it one spot. Keep it moving. Also try a pre shave lotion like lectra shave, or something like it. Also, if you have never used electric shavers before, your skin has to condition to it.  (+ info)

How to reduce razor burn when using an electric shaver?

i use a electric shaver and i seem to be getting razor burns...how do i stop that?
----------

Hi, I'm Pedro and I work for Gillette. Just thought I could give you some advise, which we share about our other great brand which is Braun. We recommend to always shave against the growth of your hair. Avoid going over the same spot too many times. Use gentle strokes and let the machine do the cutting for you. If you've had the shaver for a while it might be time to have these changed. Always use a good moisturising lotion after you've shaved. This helps calm your skin.

I hope this helps, but you can always drop me a line to [email protected] if you have any further questions.  (+ info)

I need to make a spaghetti sauce in an electric roaster, but it always seems to burn some on the sides.?

It's hard to find the correct temperature to get and keep it warm. It's either not hot enough or too hot and then it burns on the side. Is there a way to make the electric roaster more non-stick or to put something in between the cooking pan and the inside surface?
----------

Just put some butter or oil on the sides. It would not burn  (+ info)

Can you use cast iron on an electric stove top>?

I have a new pancake puffer pan and it is cast iron and everytime i try cooking with it on a low heat it burns my food.
----------

If you are using low to medium heat and it is still burning your food, you can use a heat diffuser between the pot and the stove.....

A good diet for someone who burns 2600 calories every morning?

I'm in the Army and upset that I've gained a little weight even though I've increased my workout routine. Does anyone have a good diet? I cannot have a stove. I have an electric skillet and a microwave. That's all.
----------

All that's necessary to lose weight is to cut back on your calories. It will probably be easiest for you to lose weight if you make an attempt to eat foods that are lower in calories, such as fruits and vegetables, and try to avoid foods that are high in fat (fat contains 9 calories per gram, while protein and carbs contain 4 calories per gram). Also, make sure you drink enough water (it helps to keep you full and hydrated), and be conscious of portion sizes. Look at nutrition labels so that you know what's in the food you're eating, and cut back on beverages that are high in calories, and replace them with water. Make sure you get enough protein, because it's essential to building muscle. Also, keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat, so this could be part of the reason you haven't lost weight.
Hope this advice helped, and good luck  (+ info)

Can I use a schick quatro with the electric shaver to give myself a hair cut?

just wondering if anyone has ever tried it or not. i shaved like a tiny bit off but am too scared to continue. Will it do a good job/ clean cut like the ones the people at the hair place do? or is it strictly for side burns ?
----------

You should go out and buy an electric hair trimmer and get someone else to cut your hair. If you did it yourself you may miss spots and it would look funny.  (+ info)

What do i do with a conventional oven that burns most things!?

My house had a conventional electric oven and even when i let it preheat completely and my oven rack is in the middle of the oven most of my cakes and biscuits burn on the bottom. The oven also smokes a lot but i cannot find any mess which could be burning... How do i stop these things from happening?
----------

Your thermostat might be off. Before buying a new oven, go hit a WalMart for an over temp gauge. The little round ones cost only a couple of bucks and can tell you where your hot spots are. Nextly, your heating coil might be damaged. For about 25 bucks you can get a new one without buying a whole new oven. Mainly, just a few screws to replace it.

The smoking problem might be coming from the fact that the element is heating to high, too fast. My oven cooks just fine, but will smoke like "you know what" if I turn it up too high.  (+ info)

New pots and pans for my glass flat electric cooktop. What kind would you recommend?

There are so many different kinds, that I don't know where to start researching. stainless steel? copper bottom? coated? galvanized? We cook bacon and eggs and chicken a lot in our pans, and my husband always burns crap to the bottoms that is impossible to get off. Anything that would make it easier to get the burned stuff off would be nice! Any recommendations?
----------

When we moved into our new house a few years ago, it was if I had to learn how to cook all over again. I was so proud of my brand new Whirlpool glass top stove and oven (with convection) even though it took a while to figure out how to cook with it. As a housewarming gift, my mother gave me a brand new set of stainless steel pots and pans. I can't stand them! Everything sticks. So, I have reverted back to my good old T-Fal pots and pans that I have had for about 15 years.

I use my stainless for recipes that require browning and then baking -- but for everything else I use the good old T-Fal.

Oh, and I learned a long time ago that if you fill the pot or pan with warm soapy water, bring it to a boil, then turn down to simmer for about 15 - 30 minutes, give a good scrape with the spatula, the stuck on stuff comes right off. Pour the goop down the disposal, then give a wipe with a plastic scrubby to get the little bits of left on stuff. Works like a charm -- had to do it just the other night.  (+ info)
