Could I possibly have UTI or urinary calculi?

I feel like I must use the bathroom too frequently. Nothing burns when I must go, but I feel like my bladder fills up pretty quickly and I must use the bathroom? It is probably the cold weather? I also feel some sort of minor discomfort in my bladder area. Am I just thinking about it too much?

SW will break down your stone so that smaller pieces will pass out of the urinary system without or minimal pain/discomfort. Sometimes your Dr may put a stent in the ureter to let the fragments pass more easily, but unlikely in your case since your stone is relatively small. Can rice causes renal calculi?

My question about rice's chemical properties, some of my friends says that rice contains only sugar while other says that it contains sugar and some salts as well.
My uncle has renal calculi, He usually takes rice in his food, so my question is about rice whether its harmful for my uncle or not.

Not at all. A third of world's population predominantly eats rice with no ill effects. Rice is essentially carbohydrates. There is very little of minerals in rice.

Calculi of the tonsils?

I know that this is a somewhat common problem... but I get calculi of the tonsils, which is when little food particles get trapped in the back of my mouth in the deep crevices of my tonsils. It causes bad breath and it is very uncomfortable.

Anyone else suffer from this have any tips on how to deal with the problem or remove the debris?

So far for me it's been a small flashlight and a Q-tip.
I get this, it is horrible and uncomfortable. I found the best thing to do is to gargle soluble aspirin repeatedly until it gets dislodged. (Aspirin also has anti-inflammatory properties so this may help too), failing that I would try gargling with mouthwash (at least it'll help the breath!!)

Another thing that has helped is eating coarse food like crisps. I can't tolerate the Q tip down the throat method - makes me gag!!  (+ info)

Smaller ones usually tend to pass randomly, but larger ones will need help.

Drinking cranberry juice and eating starfruit can help ease the passing and breakage.

I would go to the doc for pain meds, so to not sugar coat things, you WILL BE NEEDING PAIN KILLERS.

To avoid future stones you will need to change your diet and drink a lot more water for hydration.

Restrict your oxalate intake.

I just get confused about it with cavities and sometimes it's hard to tell whether you got a cavity or whether you got tartar/calculus which is brown.
tartar or calculus is a form of harden dental plaque. dental plaque is soft and easily removed from tooth surface via brushing and flossing, but if it not removed for a some time like a week, it will become a calculus which caused by the continual accumulation of minerals from saliva on the plaque. dental plaque and calculus contain bacteria which can cause gum disease like gingivitis and periodontitis, and also dental cavities.  (+ info)

Why is calculus preferred to be a dentist?

I'm only in 10th grade, but I was looking at required courses because I've wanted to be a dentist. I was fine with the chemistry and biology and english and all the other courses but I was wondering, why is calculus wanted for dental school? Does it actually apply to anything in the job?
Not directly - you do need good math skills, but nothing like calculus. However, most dental schools require college calculus and physics (which often uses calculus) as an admission requirement, and most science degrees require them as well. Honestly, math that relates to running a business, such as accounting, would probably be more helpful to dentistry, but they are unlikely to change the requirement.   (+ info)
