Can excessive use of Botox actually cause brain damage or other central nervous system damage?

There is still research going on with that but there are findings that the Botox does travel around in the body causing multiple problems.  (+ info)

How does sensation travel through the central nervous system, and why are some sensations ignored?

neurons fire throughout your body until it gets to your brain.

No sensations are EVER ignored, just your brain processes them in order of importance, and many things are not important, therefore you may think that it was ignored when it really wasn't.  (+ info)

Impluses Are Transmitted From Receptors to The Central Nervous System by >?

1) Receptor Neurons

2) Sensory Neurons

3) Interneurons

4) Motor Neurons

Please Help Me
----------

Sensory neurons or also known as afferent neurons are neurons that are activated by sensory input (vision, touch, hearing, etc.), and send projections into the central nervous system that convey sensory information to the brain or spinal cord. Unlike neurons of the central nervous system, whose inputs come from other neurons, sensory neurons are activated by physical modalities such as light, sound, temperature, chemical stimulation, etc.  (+ info)

The disease rabies is caused by a virus that attacks the central nervous system. The virus is normally?

introduced by an animal bite that breaks the surface of the skin. Since the virus is not motile, why is it located in the central nervous system?
----------

Actually, the Rhabdovirus is l
"located" in other tissues, hence it can be transmitted by blood, saliva, and even tissue: There are at least 8 cases of known infection related to corneal transplants.
The most unusual property of this virus is that it can take up to 8 years to produce symptoms.
The central neurological symptoms are manifested to to the affinity of neuro tissue for replication and the "amplification" of replication causes symptoms(confusion, delirium, hallucinations).
By proximity to a wound to peripheral nervous tissue, the virus spreads to the brain and spinal cord via "axoplasmic flow"
This is an natural, against the stream channel(access) that parallels the peripheral nervous system.  (+ info)

Does static contraction and central nervous system workouts actually work?

Anybody here a proven product of these body building methods?

I found out about it from the website below and after I had my first gym session last week, was thinking about trying this. Just after thoughts from the professionals first though.

Thanks

different workout techniques work differently for different people. lol. if i were you i would talk to a personal trainer, do a session with them and then ask them what workout type fits you best for what you are trying to accomplish with your workouts. any professional will tell you the same thing. if they dont, then they suck at their job haha.  (+ info)

Can cracking your back hurt your central nervous system?

i had my friend crack my back the other day and ever since ive been having headaches. It might just be coincidence and im hoping they will go away but someone told me it could be brain damage from them cracking it the wrong way.
----------

the answer is really yes and no. i highly doubt you could get brain damage from cracking your back, however, its probably not good for your back, like cracking your knuckles, cracking your back, neck or jaw can probably lead to serious arthuriteus. cracking your back temporarily makes your back stop hurting, but it does sometimes give you a heade ache and i wouldnt doiubt that it could cause permanent damage of some kind. as much as i dislike doctors, it would probably be best to speak with one concerning your problem  (+ info)

Are long term sufferers of depression likely to die young, because of the effect on the central nervous system

particularly if they've had it since early childhood & throughout their adult life...
----------

I would have to say from my experience that the answer is no. My mother has suffered from depression all of her life and she's in her 80's. I have a brother who has also dealt with depression and he's almost 60. I've dealt with depression since I was 9 years old and I'm 52 so I would have to ask how young you're talking about. Because We're all still here. You might have to be more precises with your question.  (+ info)

A cluster of neural cell bodies in the central nervous system is best described as ?

Julisa K,
Whilst I am not usually in the habit of providing test or exam answers, I will give you this information in the hope that you may learn and do further research. Nucleus is the name given to a cluster of cell bodies WITHIN the central nervous system. In the peripheral nervous system, which is OUTSIDE the central nervous system, collections of nerve cell bodies are called ganglia. Gray matter is the name given to the portion of the vertebrate central nervous system composed primarily of densely packaged neuronal cell bodies and dendrites.
