Can using Crest Whitestrips cause gum recession? How often is it ok to go through the 10 day treatment?

I bought Crest Whitestips Premium Plus and used them all and now I'm on my second box so I have been going strong for about two weeks is that ok?
----------

using crest whitening strips will not cause gum recession but brushing to hard will. i ve used these strips in the past and found them to better than the whitening i got at the dentist. don't use them to often, maybe every couple of months for a few days at a time to "touch them up" a bit. using whitening products to much can cause the teeth to look a transparent gray shade. you may find you have to use a sensitivity toothpaste after the strips. remeber to floss everyday and brush your teeth and gums well with a flouride toothpaste!!  (+ info)

How long do you think the recession will last?

I predict two years but then who am I, just an ordinary guy. All answers appreciated, even the funny ones.
----------

If we have a republican in the white house who refuses to roll back the useless tax cuts for the rich Americans, then it will last much longer.  (+ info)

Given the fact of a severe recession and now swine flu is there a strong likelihood of violence breaking out?

... breaking out across the United States if this thing becomes severe and people associate the spread with Mexicans?
----------

For that to happen, i would say we would need about a million or two to become infected. A large amount of the population would have to be infected before people would turn to violence.  (+ info)

How can I continue to shop with the recession going on?

Yeah so whenever I try to but something my parents always give me the same lame talk about how I should save my money instead of spend it. Or pre prom freshmen dance is coming and I want to buy a nice outift. except my parents keeping saying that I'm just wasting money and I shouldn't go at all. What can I do to convience them to let me buy things?
----------

Try getting a job and paying for it yourself. Definitely keep an eye out for sales. Businesses are going out left and right, so they have sales.

Or try and be a hipster and buy a cool jacket at a thrift store and some sneakers. I've always been a sucker for guys like that.

You also might wanna check out ebay and places like TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

Good luck  (+ info)

Thanks to the recession and a family breakdown. I now only have to cook for myself and i'm struggling to eat?

healthy appetising meals. I've tried making pans full of things and freezing them into single portions but I soon get bored and the food becomes bland. Do you have any tips on eating healthy whilst living alone and only having to cook for 1 and saving money at the same time?
----------

Instead of going out and buying frozen tv dinners, which in addition to being highly overpriced are loaded with sodium, fat and other miscellaneous stuff, try buying things like a large package of chicken breasts, baby potatoes, carrots/broccoil et cetera, whatever you enjoy. Spend an evening cooking it all up, and portion all the food into personal sized meals that you can freeze and eat on the go. They are glorified tv dinners, but are individually cheaper as well as light years healthier. You can do the portioning method in other ways also, such as when you buy a large package of meats, before freezing separate into smaller portions to freez individually, as to not waste food. I live alone and separation/freezing is a lifesaver.

Also, buy rice and pasta and virtually anything else you can in bulk. Most of that stuff lasts forever and is incredibly versatile in any meal.  (+ info)

Have you had a gummy smile fixed before? (gum recession using laser) How did it turn out?

I'm a little nervous to get this procedure done. I've seen some wonderful pictures, but haven't heard from anyone personally how there's has turned out.

Please elaborate on your experience if you can, and only answer if you have had this procedure done. (whether outcome was good or bad)

Thanks!! :]
----------

I am a real person and actually had this done a little over two weeks ago. I was at the dentist and just asked if he did the procedure out of curiosity. The procedure was 30 minutes tops, they did the numbing, took before pictures, did a little measuring, marked the places they would cut and then did it. I had little sores on my gums where they put the shots (but I get those every time they have to numb my mouth), and the gum line had little brown burn marks but went away by the next day with brushing. I had a little bit of bleeding with brushing, but they did warn me about it, and they gave me ibuprofen and pain killers (which I didn't really need). For me I am absolutely ecstatic with the results. Before, my gums went straight across my teeth with no arch and I hated smiling, now there is arch for each individual tooth and I love it. I can't wait for my husband to come home from deployment to see it.

I hope this helps you, I recommend it to anyone who hates having a gummy smile.  (+ info)

Right now during recession would be a perfect time to diet?

If you eat mostly your green vegetables, salad mixes (use vinegar only and seasonings)and cabbages, have a correct portion of protein with your meals no fat. Drink only water, tea and coffee no sugary drinks or splenda (use stevia) perfect opportunity to get healthy and get rid of all thebad stuff in our systems!Dont forget your vitamins
Part of my point being, your grocery bill will be cut in half!!
----------

err...cut out the coffee, and drink the tea in healthy sane proportions not all day long. .

and exercise. run/jog/walk for 2 miles a day and work your way up till your running 10k in hour 5 days a week or more.  (+ info)

Are there more visits to the mental health clinics since the recession?

Are there more people going to the mental health and looking to get on meds since the economic downturn?
----------

Yes, and there's also less money to run the clinics, and less funds available to help the indigent pay for meds.  (+ info)

Have you had gum recession from debridement treatment?

I am having debridement done to treat my gingivitis through a periodontist. He says there'll be some gum recession/shrinkage in the area's where he will do the treatment. I'm freaking out.

Has anyone had this done and was the recession obvious? I don't want to look 'long in the tooth'!
----------

The recession has actually already happened, but your gums are swollen from the infection. Shrinkage is a better term...as your gums heal they will lose the puffyness they have now and return to a healthy state. This beats the alternative of bone loss eventually leading to tooth loss.

It can be obvious based on the amount of swelling you have...but showing a little root is better than having no teeth.  (+ info)
