Can someone tell me why I hiccup randomly once or twice EVERY day?

There's never a day it doesn't happen. It's completely out of the blue, too. Is it something I should be concerned about?

I never had this problem before I met someone who did. Could they have had a mirroring effect on me?
I drink the recommended amount of water daily.

I hiccup at least once a day, often more than once. Sometimes I'll hiccup so much that 30 minutes after I initially started I am STILL hiccuping. I tried doing some online research but I can't seem to find anything. I know you hiccup up when something screwy is going on with your diaphragm but could all this hiccuping be doing damage?
It's not normal. Do you drink more water often? If so, try holding your breath for a few seconds during hiccups, 'some' believe this might prevent or stop hiccuping.  (+ info)

I know its a silly question, but every single time I've been pregnant, when I hiccup I only have one at a time. Its totally random and I don't understand why I only get ONE! Anyone else have this problem?

Ever since I can remember I have hiccuped all day long. It's not a case of the hiccups, its one hiccup every 15-20 minutes. Sometimes farther apart sometimes closer together but it almost always averages around 30. My mother has this problem, my grandmother, and all the females on my mom's side. Someone once mentioned and undeveloped diaphragm?

Any thoughts would be nice. They are really loud and quite distruptive in most cases.

After like 5 mins of hiccuping, i start to get really sleepy.
Hiccups and coughing uses the diaphragm. Using this muscle over and over when it isn't worked hard usually is tiring to your body. It would be like nodding your head for 5 min strait.  (+ info)

I sound like a pheradactol or a dying pig, they hurt my chest and they happen at random moments during the day. Sometimes I'll have a lot, other times I won't. Does anyone know what these are or anyone who has a similar case??
This happens to me too, don't think it's something to really worry about though. Mine usually happens when I'm really hungry and haven't eaten anything........or sometimes, when I drink a big gulp of really cold pop......also, happens sometimes after I eat.....it's really weird.......but, I don't know what causes it.....  (+ info)

least 20 times per hour. A middle aged relative of mine does it, without even realising it. Could it be a gastro problem? They also have recurring mouth ulcers. Thanks
