I have a 13-month daughter and I'd like to give her a regular milk, but I don't know how to compare the nutrition. Can somebody tell me the easiest way to do that and also if possible pls mention the milk brand?

If you had a newborn infant would you want it tested for genetic disorders?

give me your opinion!
----------

You could, but then what? Worry? Have an abortion?

So my answer would be no. My first reason is many persons do fine with genetic disorders, become strong through adversity and lead successful lives.

My second reason is that research is finding cures for many of these disorders and technology is constantly improving.

My third reason is that research has found that many genetic disorders are actually caused by environmental hazards such as uranium, coal tar, manganese, lead, and pesticides to name a few. So trying to defeat genetic disorders without trying to defeat contaminants is putting the cart before the horse.

My brother worried so much when his wife was pregnant because our family carries an endocrine genetic disorder. The baby was born healthy, and he grew into a healthy young man. Never a health problem. At age sixteen, his life was snuffed out by a drunk driver. I mention this because the point is we cannot protect our children from all the tragedies which can befall them, and most of all, it does no good whatsoever to worry.  (+ info)

Is is true that poor nutrition when your an infant causes shorter arms and legs?

just something i heard... is it true
----------

In a sense, yes and no!

Rickets, a bone disorder, can result from inadequate nutrition. However, the effects of malnutrition as an infant can be much more serious than short arms and legs.

Overall weight and health will certainly be impacted. Height is determined by DNA. You may not live long enough to grow tall as you are programmed, or you may be really thin and sickly.

If generations are involved, the natural selection will favor a smaller body because it needs less quantity of nutrition than a large body.  (+ info)

its a discussion on how female education help to promote family nutrition, family size and infant mortality

Family size-well you want a family that you can afford to support, don't you so it's good to learn about family planning.

Infant mortality-learning how to prevent cot death is useful, and telling your kids to say no to strangers, feeding them the right things, mentally and physically...  (+ info)
