What is the difference between a Level II ultrasound and a regular ob ultrasound?

I will be going for a level II ultrasound on Jan. 12th due to one of my sons having bilateral choroid plexus cysts on his brain. What is the difference between a regular ultrasound that I had done and the level II that I have to drive an hour away for?
----------

My daughter had the same cysts on her brain. I didn't really notice much of a difference and the picture they print off at the end and gave me was pretty much the same. Really I just thought it was scary because instead of an ultrasound tech doing it there were 3 doctor's (specialist) in the room watching the screen looking for things to be wrong with my baby and it really was just scary knowing they were looking for the worse. I do think the picture was a bit clearer but to me that is the only difference I noticed. My daughter ended up being fine and they said either they were there and vanished (which is common it's only a problem if they stay) or that it was a shadow on the first ultrasound (which is also common).  (+ info)

What's the difference between Bipolar II Disorder and normal teen moodiness?

I've read a lot about Bipolar II and I'm pretty sure I have it..
But I'm 16, and don't all teenagers go through things similar to depression and hypomania?
Is Bipolar II just an excuse for moody teens to get on medication, or is there a difference?

I'm sorry if that didn't make sense.. I'm just not sure how else to word it.

How contagious is HSV type II genital herpes to men? How do those with it have sex still?

I like a person with HSV type II but we've never done it. I'm scared to for one and I'm not sure how contagious it is, if it can be controlled enough to have 100% certainty nothing will be spread, etc. So anyone have an idea?
----------

Hello I have HSV-2 as well.

Its usually VERY contagious while one is having an outbreak. It can also be contracted even if one isn't having an outbreak. But the chances are reduced.

There is medication out there that prevents the transmission of genital herpes. It isn't 100% guaranteed just like condoms aren't, but women have had babies without giving it to their partners.

People with HSV-2 can have a normal sex life like anyone else, just have to be more careful.

Maybe you could ask her what measures you two can take to make sure both of you are safe.  (+ info)

How do ii achieve that emo, choppy hairstyle?

I already have a layered hairstyle with a side fringe, but ii cant afford a new haircut. How can ii achieve an emo look?
----------

you have to tease it.
You take a comb, and brush peices down and out. It is basically knotting it and brushing over.
You can get tutorials online and on youtube.  (+ info)

What is the difference between the Dental Assisting I and the Dental Assisting II course?

I'd like to go to school to become a dental assistant but noticed there are courses for 'Dental Assistant I' and 'Dental Assistant II'. Which is the better one to take?
----------

You don't have to take the second level, but if you do, you get to do more things like polishing people's teeth, take impressions (for mouth guards and whitening trays), you get to learn how to place a rubber dam on people, and in some places you get to apply temporarily fillings, apply sealants, and other things. This means that you will have more responsibility in the dental office.

Unlike with just taking level 1, you must take an exam at the end of your course with an examination board in order to practice your level 2 skills. The Canadian board is the NDAEB http://www.ndaeb.ca/

Also I forgot to mention that level 2 assistants usually get paid about 2-3 dollars more an hour.  (+ info)

Is w-ii afgf can be use by the teenager? What can be cause when possibly use it by the teenager?

If the teenager can use the w-ii afgf ,what will be the cause when they use it. It can be more effective when they use it or should they ask first some dermathologist for the safetiness of their skin to avoid the damage of their faces and irritational.
----------

It is awfully tough to answer a question when the question makes so little sense.

In short, though, this product contains a cellular growth factor that has not been well-studied in teenagers so you probably should not use it without first consulting a dermatologist with experience in using this product.

If you're using it for acne, there are dozens of safer and better treatments available. Ask your pediatrician, family doctor, internist or dermatologist.  (+ info)

What is the difference between Type I and Type II Diabetes?

My grandmother was recently diagnosed Type II diabetes.
I don't understand the difference, could someone dumb it down for me? The doctor didn't really answer our questions thoroughly.
----------

Type 1 is an auto immune disease. Basically, for some unknown reason, your body decides that your pancreas is evil and kills it. Completely and utterly dead.
Type 1's are on insulin injections, or a pump, for the rest of our lives, bnecause we make absolutely no insulin of our own.

Type 2 can be managed with diet, exercise, medications or insulin.
Type 2's, for a lot of reasons, cant make, or use, enough insulin.
Maybe their pancreas isn't making enough, or they might not be able to use the stuff they do make.

Type 2's can be on insulin as well. Being on insulin doesn't make you a Type 1.

Your grandmother might be put on drugs to make her pancreas work better, or to help her use the insulin she does make.
Either way, eating less carbs, loosing weight etc are all ways to help her need less insulin.  (+ info)

How can I preclude life insurance blacklisting with Diabetes II?

I have a case of Type II Diabetes and I have found that qualification for life insurance requires a blood test. Based on blood testing, companies will charge much more if a person has Type II Diabetes. I was wondering if there is some way to fool the company to make them believe that I am normal. Perhaps I could work out just before the test?
----------

My wife has worked for several life insurance companies and worked for one for 23 years. She's now in surety bonds but keeps in touch with many people in the industry.

First off, if you lie on the application, you void the coverage. A life insurance application will ask about Diabetes. You won't fool anyone but yourself. Second, the blood test won't show Diabetes if you are in control on your blood glucose. Third, for many companies, you authorize them to obtain your medical records and many of those are held by your health insurance company and they are very willing to share authorized requests for data, most are interrelated in one way or another, owned by same parent company, using the same re-insurance company, etc. so its beneficial for all insurance companies to keep claims down.

There are some insurance companies that realize that in-control Diabetics live a healthier life than most other people and are beginning to price their policies accordingly and at least bringing them down to close to the same costs as a non-diabetic person. Shop around and find one of those companies. Get copies of your last few years A1C scores and show them that you are in control and therefore a good risk. This way, you've been up-front and honest and they can't void your coverage for insurance fraud.  (+ info)
