Anyone else have a baby who loves lying transverse?

I am 32 weeks and know that there is time for her to move, in fact, she does go head down every now and then. BUT at night she loves to lie transverse and kick down into the mattress. This is really uncomfortable and I was wondering if there are ways to encourage the baby to move into a different position.
----------

no not really-you might try laying a different way that makes you comfy. but as you know she will move to make herself comfy also..  (+ info)

Is it normal for a baby to constantly be in transverse position?

I was just wondering bc evry ultrasound Ive had my baby has been in transverse position (lying flat on her back). she moves her feet etc and even does back flips but could this indicate there is soemthing wrong with her back? I am 29 weeks 6 days.
she lies flat across on her back, her head is not down but her face is up. she's always in this position for some reason.
----------

I have six children and more ultrasounds than I can count. I think she's fine.  (+ info)

should I be concerned that my mucus plug fell out at 36 weeks with a "transverse lie" baby?

I am 36 wks pregnant and had an ultrasound 3 days ago and it showed that she is in the "transverse lie" position and her umbilical cord is resting on my cervix. They said that if I have ANY contractions or my water breaks to go immediately to the hospital, but not sure if my mucus plug has any additional meaning with these new issues. I know with a normal pregnancy it means nothing, just wondering if this changes anything.

When are planned c-sections for transverse babies usually done?

I am almost 33 weeks with my second baby. My 1st one was 9lb 9oz and this one is transverse and already about 6lbs. Even if the baby does turn at some point I will still want a c-section because of the large size (my 1st was an emergency c-sec b/c of the size). What week would they probably do the planned c-section?
----------

They usually want to do it at 38 weeks to avoid you going into labor but it's better to wait until 39 weeks. They associate breathing problems with the c-section before then. But I know lots of people born before 39 weeks who are perfectly fine and i'm sure many others on here will tell you the same. It's something you will have to discuss with your doctor. Congrats on #2!  (+ info)

Age? Or just cause they don't do transverse lobes?  (+ info)

What are some exercises for Transverse plane of motion ?

I know trunk rotation is one.
----------

That is a good question. I have been looking for some good ones that I can do at home, but they are hard to find. In the gym you can use cables to get a twisting motion.

Here's a combo move:
1. stand straight with dumbells in your hands, your left arm up in the air, elbow/arm straight.
2. As you bend down (you can bend your elbow as you lower the wieght) turn your torso so that by the time you are fully bent, your left hand is hanging straight, slightly to the right of your right ankle.
3. Then raise raise your torso as you slowly twist your torso to its original position, while you raise your hand up into the air(you can bend your elbow as you raise your hand), so that your final position of your left hand is up in th air, arm striaght, and slightly behind your head.
4. Then go back to one.
5. Do same thing with other arm

There are also quite a few yoga moves that do the trsnsverse plane too.  (+ info)

When should I start worrying that my baby is inbetween breech and transverse?

Everyone says "oh don't worry about it start worrying at such and such a week," but wouldn't it be better to worry before it's too late? lol! I don't know. I'm 26 weeks pregnant.
----------

Your baby can change possition up until birth. My first child was breech at 39weeks. My sister had a newborn that was crying. We laid him upside down on my tummy and believe it or not my baby turned. You could actually see his body as he turned. It was uncomfortable for me but I'm glad he turned finally. Congradulations and God bless.  (+ info)

What type of insision did you have if your baby was transverse?

Did you have a classical insision ( a long vertical cut made from the belly button to the pubic bone) or a low transverese (the bikini cut, extends like a smile low along the pubic hairline)?
This is my second pregnancy I've had an emergancy c-section with my 1st. It was a low transverse (bakini cut). I don't want another insision in a new spot.
----------

now a days only transverse incision is given as far as i know.  (+ info)
