Anyone go into labor with a transverse position baby?

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and baby hasn't switched to the head-down position. Just wondering if any of you ladies ended up going into labor, having contractions, or water breaking with a transverse (horizontal) position baby? I know it's impossible to deliver with this position so a c-section is required but has this happened to anyone or did your baby eventually turn? Thanks!
My baby is lying from side to side so not breech position (from right to left). Any techniques to have baby change position?
----------

My first one was transverse. I did the breech tilt to get her to turn. It worked and she turned head down. She really wiggled whenever I did the breech tilt. What you do is lie on your back with your pelvis higher than your head. Lie like this twice a day for 20 minutes at a time. It is said to work 75% of the time.  (+ info)

How do you activate Transverse Abdominus?

I have a really weak core due to years of slouching and bad posture (ie letting my stomach hang out and letting back arch) I need help with this so I have no more back pain!
----------

Transverse abs can be stimulated by the same exercises as the obliques, through various means such as crossover crunches, lying bent leg crunches, side bends, twists (with weights or a stick). I'm not aware of any exercise that actually specifically targets these specifically other than the listed exercise "abdominal vacuum". It sounds like you could use some overall strength training in the abs and back.  (+ info)

What are methods to turn a transverse (sideways) baby at 37 weeks?

Or do you have a link to a good website? Thanks
----------

A version, is the only thing I have ever heard of to turn a baby, honestly. It's where the doctors will lather your tummy with gel, and forcefully (but carefully) try to maneuver the baby in the head down position. It's extremely painful for the mother, and it doesn't always work. It also has a tenancy to cause the water to break. I'd consult your doctor on this though.  (+ info)

I get pain and swelling at bottom of right and left rib cage feels like transverse colon, what could it be?

It comes and goes especially this time of year around mid winter. I know there have been changes in this area of my body since at least 2002. And sometimes I get what it feels like a liquid being squeezed up the back of my neck.

What does it feel like if baby is lying transverse?

I'm about 37 weeks pregnant and am worried my baby is lying transverse now! At my 36 week appt. my Dr. said she was pretty much sure the baby was lying head down, but now my belly feels different. In the past, I have felt baby's back/butt along one side of my belly and kicks mostly on the opposite. NOW, both sides of my belly feel hard! Anyone had a transverse baby..HOW DID IT FEEL??
----------

I was able to tell that my baby was transverse when I laid down. His butt would be below my right rib cage and his head on the left of my belly button.. it was kind of interesting because I could lay my arm flat over his whole side and get a general idea of how big he is.

It feels weird, and when he gets to moving around in that position, my husband freaks out! haha he said if he were to ever do an alien style movie he'd hire a pregnant woman with a transverse baby... silly men

Of course any time I go to the doctors the baby has moved and since I have 6 days left, I'm hoping he'll position himself in time for a normal delivery!!  (+ info)

I am 33 weeks pregnant.I had a 3d ultra sound last friday and was told that my baby is laying transverse. Will?

she move on her own or is there something i could do to help.I don't want a cesarean.
----------

Try getting up on all fours and rocking back and fourth. Sometimes this weill help. It helped with my friend. Sometimes they dont get in postion till 36 weeks or after. Your dr should be able to give you advice on what you can do as well!
Good Luck!!  (+ info)

What happens if you are 38 weeks pregnant and after being head for 3 weeks baby turns transverse?

what will doctors likely do etc?
----------

He will probably want to do a c-section just for the baby's safety! My friend had the same problem!
Just so you know though... c-sections are not as bad as everyone on here says...Trust me I asked my share of ?'s on here when I found out I had to have one and EVERYONE scared me to death!
My Dr told me (my pubic arch is too narrow to deliver naturally...I had contractions 4-10 mins apt for 3 days and it did nothing, they didnt hurt at all though so it wasnt as bad as it sounds) that when you have a situations like these having a c-section is of course a higher risk for you, but very low for the baby! And its the opposite for a vaginal birth...ONLY IN SITUATIONS LIKE THESE...its higher for the baby and less for you. Thats when you have to say "Ok, its worth it for the baby's health!"
I was walking the very next day...walked up my stairs when I got home with no problem...took care of my son...and was back to normal in about a week! The worst part is getting out of the bed at home...and not having a hospital bed to push yourself up with. I loved my c-section! Its how it had to be done...and it was quick, easy, the safest option at the time, and you can hardly see my scar!
I pray though that your baby turns and this wont be necessary! BUT I just wanted to let you know how EASY c-sections are and not to be nervous just in case!!! Good luck and congrats!! :o)  (+ info)

A couple of questions for ladies who's babies were transverse?

My sister is 30 weeks pregnant and has been told that her baby is transverse.

For those who have had a transverse baby:

*Did your baby move naturally/with assistance? If so, at what point did he move?

*If the baby didn't move, how many weeks were you when you had a c-section?

*Has anyone experienced going in to labour before their elected c-section date? What happened?
----------

My second baby flipped several times between 33 and 39 weeks. On every midwife appointment, I was told that baby was breech and I'd need a scan to check and discuss turning baby and/or c section and every time I'd get to hospital knowing that she'd flipped back. She finally settled head down at 39 weeks. Anyway, I know you asked about transverse babies, I just wanted to make the point that baby has loads of time to move and more than likely will :-D  (+ info)

whats the difference between transverse and oblique?

went to midwife today and my baby is lying oblique. was just wondering what the difference between the 2 were, and also if hes oblique, have i got a better chance of him turning head down. im 35 weeks pregnant. thanks.
----------

Until 34 weeks my baby was transverse and this is where the baby is lying sideways. Then she was oblique, this is the baby is lying diagonally. I was oblique breech which meant her head was at the top.

I was sent to the antenatal clinic at 37weeks and was told the chances of her turning were slim and was given two options. I could go in and have my waters broken and have them try and force her to turn by hand or an elective c-section. I chose the c-section. My c-section was booked for 39weeks, i went in got ready, signed all forms and then she turned so the c-section was cancelled.

However i was told that because she had turned there was a chance she could turn back so if i got any signs of labour i had to go in for a scan to make sure she was still head down.  (+ info)
