I can feel a hard lump under my left ear, just behind my jaw. Is this my Parotid gland or something else?

It isn't uncomfortable or anything so I don't think it's worth going to the doctors about. Any help would be really appreciated, thank you.

Lymph node. When you see a doctor and they squeeze your throat these are what they are feeling for. Lymph nodes can get swollen with an infection, and can take time to go back to normal. This may be what it is normally like and you may have not noticed it before. Alternatively, you may have recently fought off an infection that caused it to swell. Nothing to worry about unless you start developing more swollen nodes or this one continues to enlarge. Then check with a doctor.  (+ info)

Why are my parotid glands so swollen?

I feel a lot of pressure from the swelling and they feel hard to the touch. But no pain. How should I get rid of it? I'll be seeing a doctor about it soon, but in the meantime, got any info?
Nope, it's not mumps because I had a blood test for it already.

Adeno Carcinoma of the parotid gland traveled to the lymph in the armpit?

Anyone know anything about this what treatment plans are? we are trying to get in to Fox Chase Cancer Center I am desperate for answers if you know anything at all about this or ANY experience with this PLEASE help me I hear big ben ticking and I am half out of my mind as each minute pass's by, its my husband that has this he is my mentor, my best friend , my whole world I need to do whatever I can I am angry, frustrated, helpless, and I feel like I am losing the single most important person in my world If you have ANy experience with this or you know anything please let me know.
----------

You are correct in trying to get your husband seen at a major cancer center as soon as possible. Adenocarcinoma of the parotid can be an aggressive cancer and needs comprehensive treatment by experts in treating this type cancer.

The things you are going through right now are unfortunately quite normal when dealing with the trauma of a newly diagnosed cancer. All I can say is to keep your chin up and be there for your husband - and it sounds like you are already doing a very good job of that. all the best and good luck to you both

Get to know them better. This is not a task only to be accomplished through dating. The more you get to know him or her, the more you can tell if you like them as a friend or something else. Just talk and do fun activities with the person.
Stop and consider why you like the person. There are many physically attractive and smart people out there. But if you see something beyond that really catches your attention, you've marked this person as unique and probably like them. Why else would they stand out from so many?
Consider how many times you think about the person. If you find yourself thinking about this person several times a day, and they are happy thoughts that possibly make your heart beat faster, then you probably like them.
Think how often you laugh at their jokes etc. When you like someone, you will find yourself laughing at things even if they aren't that funny. This is a natural attempt to make them feel appreciated.
If the one conversation between you and the person is stuck in you head and you cant stop telling people about it. this means it was important to you, and you probably like the person.
Consider how much you try to be near them. If you've planned your walking speed to catch a glimpse of them as many times of the day as possible, there is a good reason for that.
Think about how you feel if you touch him or her, by accident or on purpose. If you're still thinking about brushing shoulders several hours ago in school, then that is a special thought and you probably like them.
If you feel you're ready for a relationship, and are confident enough for a positive response, then just go ahead and ask them out. If you're unsure of their feelings for you, there are several wikihows on how to tell if someone likes you.  (+ info)

Has anyone had a parotid cyst or pilonidal cyst ?

I have had both i was wondering if anyone has either of these personally for the pain factor the pilonidal cyst it was horrible i wanna know your experience.
----------

i had a parotid tumor on the left side and i had it for a few years before it was finally removed and the pain was sometimes unbearable.have you had an MRI done and went to talk to an ear, nose and throat doctor to make sure it is only a cyst? the "lump" i had started out very small maybe pea size and grew into a huge tumor. dr. scalaro from lubbock tx had to remove the entire gland being afraid it might have been cancer because i am told this type of tumor is rare but by the grace of god it was not cancer. make sure yours is only a cyst and not a tumor and talk to an ear, nose and throat doctor or a specilalist that does head and neck surgery. for years different doctors always told me it was nothing to worry about it's just probably because you have a sore throat so get checked and good luck to you  (+ info)
