I went to my doctor for gallstones and during an ultrasound it showed that my liver is mildly enlarged. I had a liver function test completed and everything came back ok except for a weak positive of anti-smooth muscle tissue. Does this mean I could have hepatitis c?
NO it doesn't mean Hep C. Some autoimmune diseases have very positive tests for anti-smooth muscle Abs. Your test doesn't mean much and don't worry about it, especially if you don't have any other symptoms.  (+ info)

trinki - Both a benign tumor and a cancer can have either a smooth or a jagged edge. A jagged edge just raises suspicion a little higher. It doesn't really matter if a cancer has a smooth or a jagged edge as long as when the tumor is removed and examined under the microscope all the edges marked and studied are found to be free of tumor, and there is no other suspicious tumor elsewhere in the body.  (+ info)
