soft drinks don't cause infections,bacteria do....................when bacteria get into bladder,they travel to kidney,or urine can back up into kidneys and cause infection..........  (+ info)

How to find scar tissue, muscular, or soft tissue damage?


When it first happens and years after the events.
If someone has had car accidents that resulted in internal physical trauma like whiplash, concussion, and possible brain injury from the impact of the head hitting the dash board.

Unforunatley, there aren't too many reliable tests that can detect soft tissue damage. Sometimes an MRI can but has to be very specific to that damaged area. That's why the best treatment for those types of injuries is usually physical therapy, to get normal function resorted.  (+ info)

I have a soft tissue injury, and was wondering how to maintain my strength and keep fit?


I hurt my elbow 7 weeks ago at gymnastics, and have recently started physical therapy for it and it should be healed in another 4-6 weeks. However, I'm losing strength in my arms for not being able to condition them. By the time I get back to gymnastics practice, I'm worried that I will really struggle to gain back my strength, so any tips? Also, my physical therapist said that I really have to "baby" my elbow so it can heal. There are now very few things that I can do to maintain fitness, because they told me I cannot even go running or do anything that causes my arm to bounce or puts pressure on it. I've worked very hard to achieve this level of fitness through gymnastics, and I need so advice on how to get exercise? and get back on track with gymnastics when I begin again?

ask your physical therapist...

try isometric exercise...just tense your muscles as hard as you can without moving the joint (don't do this if it hurts at all).

just be patient...a month isn't that long and you will set yourself back more if you try to train when you should be recovering and reinjure yourself.  (+ info)

Has anyone found anything that helps soft tissue injury?


I have tried almost everything: Chiropractic, physical therapy, stretching, yoga, massages. These things have helped dull the pain for a short time period (2-3 days) but then they come right back. Anything you have tried that has helped? Thanks.

Unless you treat the source of the pain, of course it's going to keep coming back. A massage might loosen the muscles and release the trigger points, but if you leave the massage table and adopt the poor posture and bad ergonomics that brought the problem on in the first place, then yes, it's going to come right back. If your engine is leaking oil, you can hardly expect that adding more is going to fix the problem permanently - you need to find out where the leak is happening and fix it.

Depending on what exactly is going on, it might be a case of needing ongoing maintenance. If it's a structural deformity like scoliosis, flat feet, or knocked knees that's the source of the problem, as an adult these things will probably not go totally away and need to be managed regularly. But if it's a case of using your body poorly - bending over to lift heavy objects, using poor posture, holding a phone with your shoulder, etc., then you can change your habits and help the problem dramatically. Even fixable problems are going to take time to undo. You can't expect lasting results from one or two sessions. You didn't do this to yourself in 2-3 days, it's not going to go away in that length of time, either.  (+ info)

i damaged the soft tissue in my knee,it's not torn.but this was 4 months ago.the doctors originally said i would take 1 month to heal.i would like to know any opinions on how to go about the healing process because i live in a small country where we don't have MRI machines so we're not sure exactly what's wrong we just know it's not broken and nothing is completely torn apart.any execises will also be very helpful.

Why is the sclera tough instead of a soft, thin tissue?


I just wanted to ask why the sclera was hard instead of soft. I have searched on Google and Yahoo! but nothing answers my question.

When God designed your body, he made the sclera tough so that it would protect the structures inside of it. It also maintains the shape of your eye. Bad as it is that some people need glasses, imagine how poorly your eye would stay in focus if it had no stability.  (+ info)
