Will rogaine work for general thinness of hair?

All of the diagrams I see for Rogaine show that it will regrow hair at the peak of the head.

My hair is thinning over the entire top of my head. Will Rogaine help me?
----------

It may or may not, but remember Rogaine is an over the counter product, that really hasn't lived up to all the hype in it's glory days. If you are that concerned about your hair, why not go to a doctor and have them prescribe you something that will probably have better results,  (+ info)

What is the obsession with super thinness?

I don't get why a woman with curves in America is considered fat. An example is a woman who is 5'5" weighs about 130-145 pounds and wears a size 7 or size 9 in jeans. How on earth could this be considered fat?

How can anyone think that a woman is attractive when you see bones and sunken cheeks? She looks like an emmaciated 12 year old boy.

Someone please explain this too me.
Since I got 15 responses in less than 12 minutes and almost everyone agreed that I have a point. Next question is what are we going to do about it?
----------

I agree! What needs to be done is change the size standard of models and actresses, etc. Because they are 5'9 and 100 lbs or whatever, size 0, us regular women figure we should look like that too. Also, remember that model from Brazil that died of Anorexia recently? That's because she was probably told she was "fat"when she was already underweight. The standard must change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No normal woman looks like a twig, and in ads they should have a normal sized woman.  (+ info)

In the fashion world, why is extreme thinness considered beautiful?

Does it make their clothes that much more elite, and unattainable?
----------

If anything, a decision in Spain to ban too-thin models from the runways at the recent Madrid Fashion Week has prompted discussion far and wide on what standards -- if any -- models should uphold. A super-thin model walks the runway during the Cynthia Rowley spring 2007 fashion show in New York.

Spain, better known for the flamenco than fashion, sent shock waves through the industry when five bone-baring waifs were deemed too skinny.

Too skinny? Isn't the fashion industry notorious for excluding models considered too fat?

Despite recent gains by so-called real-size and plus-size models -- just look at the recent Dove and Jockey advertisements featuring the antithesis of Twiggy -- the short answer remains a definitive "yes." The idealized standard, begun in the West and Europe and now generally accepted globally, remains super-thin.

Yet, the controversial actions sanctioned by the Spanish government should not have surprised those familiar with the changing public attitude toward the fashion industry. The anti-skinny backlash is tangled up in the thorny issue of women's perceptions of body image and a silent struggle over how to rewrite the definition of an unrealistic beauty standard that has prevailed for decades.  (+ info)

Would you sacrifice your breasts for permanent thinness?

My friend hates her body. She is super skinny, but she also has very small breasts. For those of you who struggle with weight loss.... would u trade your large or medium sized breasts to be skinny no matter how or what you eat.
----------

No. I have rather large breasts, and would like them to be smaller, but I don't want them to be essentially nonexistent. I would rather work hard to have a body that I'm happy with (with the threat of fluctuation and possible weight gain) than to receive a thin body and not be happy with it.  (+ info)

What is with this extreme thinness obsession?

I've been sifting through some answers on here and there are so many girls who say they are like 6'0" and 120lbs and want to lose weight!! I'm 5'7" and 125lbs and it makes me feel fat just reading it. Am I the normal one or do I need to be worried about my weight too?!

What are the effects of the obsession of thinness and beauty in society especially for women?

The effects are millions of young women who suffer from body dysmorphic disorder, bulimia, anorexia, lack of self esteem, lack of confidence, etc.  (+ info)

Some people feel our society is obsessed with thinness. What are 3 distinctly different types of evidence?

Advertising--TV, Magazines, Restaurants. Food Portions--most things are 2-3 time larger than they used to be,and are recommended to be. Clothes--today's size 8 used to be a 6, how can we not think we are fat if they keep shrinking the clothing sizes?  (+ info)

----------

Aside from getting the necessary amounts of protein and dietary fat, start looking into weight training programs.  (+ info)

Tattoo question regarding thinness?

I'm planning on getting a nautical wheel on my wrist. Can I get it thin-looking, or is it wiser to get it thicker (I hear tattoos thin out and look weird over time if they're not thick enough, but I only heard that about lettering). Also, how much am I supposed to tip the tattooist?
----------

I guess I'm not sure what you mean by thin and thick. Are you talking about the lines? I like doing fine lines, some artists do them a little thicker. The design will dictate what kind of lines you do. For a nautical star, the lines will probably be a little thicker.  (+ info)

does the thickness/thinness of a lens effect it from sliding on your eye when you blink?

yeah im talking about contact lens sorry forget to put that.
----------

If your taking about contacts then no. Contacts are made different but there is thickness that varies between them.

It wont effect it. The lid doesn't actually touch the eye.

Hope this helps.  (+ info)
