yes you could leave it on there as long as you wanted to but after 10 minutes it has already been on long enough to do its job. There is no need to leave it on any longer. Be sure and do it as often as your doctor as instructed, usually twice a day.  (+ info)

i don't lay in the beds. I just stand. and the past two times i raised it from 8 to 10 minutes, and i now have random blotches some small some a bit larger than others; of lighter colored skin. not white. and not my old skin color i don't think, but just not AS tan of a skin color as the rest of me. what can this be?? i'm freaking out.
Most likely it is Tinea Versicolor, its not caused by tanning beds themselves so it doesn't matter if you stand or lay down. Its a fungus that spreads from heat and moisture. i hate to do this...but what meds are you taking to help it? I've been dealing with this for over 10 years, and am afraid to take the oral meds because the doc said i would have to get my liver and kidneys checked monthly to make sure the meds weren't interfering with anything. i use the cream everyday, but if I'm in the sun too long, it comes right back. by the end of the summer I'm a spotted mess.
BTW...i use dermablend to coverup the mess on my chest and back. it's water-proof and blends nicely.  (+ info)

My wife has tinea tri versicolor on the back of her neck very badly. She has tried many medications over the years but with very little relief. Right now it's so dry and rough she can't hardly stand it...Can anyone help? Are there any natural or proven remedies for this. She's willing to try anything.

The preferred treatment of tinea versicolor is a 1% selenium sulfide. Any shampoo containing this could be used. Apply it full strength to the affected area at bedtime, leave it on overnight and wash it off in the morning. Continue this for 3 or 4 nights.  (+ info)
