What is the difference between an eau de toilette and body spray?

I know the first one is more expensive, but what's the difference?
----------

eau de toilette to me has a stronger alcohol smell than body spray, and stays on longer

body spray also is diluted, which is why it doesn't stay as long  (+ info)

What type of de?gree do you have to have in the mental health field to perscribe medication?

I'm wanting to find a counselor who can help me through some issues, but I have also been diagnosed in the past with bipolar disease and feel like no amount of talking is really going to completely help me cope with some things in my life. I've been looking up people online, but I know that certain ones may only see me for a while, and then realize they cannot help me without the aid of anti-depressants, so can anyone specify what degree they need?
----------

You've got several options here. You can go to a therapist, counsellor, or psychologist for the talking portion (for as long as it takes-from a month to 5 years). And at the same time go to someone medically skilled in the field for the meds. Generally, when you're doing it this way you see the Rx Dr once a month or once every 3 months.

The type of ppl who will be able to prescribe are Nurse Practitioners-NP, Medical Doctors-MD, Psychiatrists-PsyD (in order of expense per hour).

The Rx docs know about the expense & are happy to just see you for the few minutes to go over the meds. Primary care physicians presribe more psychotropic meds because ppl are likely to go to them instead of seeing a psychiatrist. That's perfectly fine. If they have been seeing you a while & you feel you aren't improving, you/they can suggest seeing a psychiatrist whose business is all about bipolar or what-have-you. They can look at your meds & adjust them. Then, once you have the info sent to your regular doctor, they are usually willing to prescribe what the psychiatrist has written (make sure they fwd a copy of the report to your doc).  (+ info)

How to I get rid of fleas and reduce bite swelling?

Even though our cats are frontlined and therefore should be protected from fleas we still seem to have them. We're keeping our cats out for the time being and we've de-flea'd the whole house with over the counter flea control. However a few days later I've still found a few new bites. Any advice on how I can reduce the swelling and how I can finally get rid of these annoying things.
Thanks people. I've already cracked on to the antihistamine which has helped the itching, anything to help the actual appearance?
----------

The reaction to the bites in humans can be damped down with any oral antihistamine. If you have not cleared the fleas completely from the house they may remain dormant, hatching gradually over 6-12 months so it is essential to keep your cats treated on an ongoing basis or they will become reinfected and start the cycle again.  (+ info)

What's the difference between aftershave and eau de toilette?

I'm looking to buy Calvin Klein Obsession. I've tried my uncle's obsession aftershave and received a few compliments from girls the other night. I went onto boots and noticed they do two types of this. One is Obsession "eau de toilette" priced at £40.00 and the other is Obsession "aftershave" at £19.99. What is the difference between the two?
----------

aftershave is what you put on after you shave.
eau de toilette is cologne.  (+ info)

What is the substance in the de-tox foot pads that detoxifies your body and turns the pads dark?

Does it really work? I saw something on a TV show that had a lady soaking her feet in a tub of water with something added to detox her body and it turned the water black after about 30 minutes. Snake Oil???? Or really possible?
----------

They are a scam. There is tea hidden in the white pad. Water trapped by sweaty feet turns the pad brown. The FDA just released a warning about the safety of the substances found in some recently imported pads.

The foot bath is comprised of metal that rusts when it comes in contact with ionic/charged water. It is also a scam.  (+ info)

What's the best way to calm down an angry screaming person?

This woman will scream at her family members cursing, telling them she wishes they were dead, telling them to leave, that she hates them. They generally just try and ignore her, but I think she's gotten worse. (Wishing them dead is new and that has really scared some people, she has been violent in the past.) Yelling back seems like it would just escalate things. Do you have any tips for de-escalating situations with this woman? (She hasn't been diagnosed with anything that I know of, but bipolar comes up a lot.)
----------

When someone is out of control, whether child or adult, the best thing you can do is ignore the person if the screaming and yelling is not directed at you. If the person is verbally assaulting you than you may need to get help from either a counselor or the police. Threatening someone, berating someone, or saying horrible things to someone is a form of verbal abuse and should not be tolerated. I think this person you are speaking of needs to get help or needs to have someone get them help. This is not an acceptable way to behave in any way, shape, or form. I hope you are okay. Please seek help.  (+ info)

How can I grow my hair quickly and get rid of knots?

I am in the process of letting my hair grow (yes, there are many men out there with long hair), so I was wondering what I should do to make it grow long very quickly. Are there any shampoos or anything out there? Please don't just say "keep it healthy, clean it, stay out of pools, ect...".

Also, is there any way to avoid knots? My shampoo doesn't have a de-knotter, and my parents don't want to buy one of those anti-knot sprays. What should I do?
----------

Well a person really can't speed up hair growth a multivitamin can help. I am a girl and when I was pregnant I had a prenatal vitamin and even take it when I now because it is good for the body anyhow. So a multivitamin can help a little.

I am in the process of growing my hair out too and all I can say is no harsh lightening treatments or frequent combings or brushings and trim the ends even if it takes off an extra inch if you have bad ends it can make the hair in general look bad.

As for a anti-knot spray try a no name detangler I use and highly recommend--Equate Hair Detangler it will say on the bottle Spray on Formula for Kids and it only costs about 98 cents and works just as well as any other brands. Spray this on when your hair is damp and comb through with a Wide tooth comb starting at the bottom working through the knots and tangles from the bottom up.

Olive oil treatments are nice too. Just regular olive oil you find in the food areas in any store. Slightly warmed up and applied to the ends or when you have extra time all over for a total treatment. You can wash it out with regular shampoo.

Hope this helps. Good luck.--jammie

ps--the detangler can be found in the either the baby care products, or I find mine in the area of Walmart close to the q-tips and lotion.  (+ info)

How can I keep my newly highlighted hair from falling out?

I recently got my hair highlighted for the first time in a salon. (My mom usually does it for me.) I am relatively happy with the results, but in the shower, it falls out in ash-blonde clumps. (My natural hair color is dark brown!) Also, my hair used to be relatively healty, and a good shampoo would keep it de-tangled. Now, as soon as it gets wet, it feels like an impossibly tangled mop. What the heck is wrong with these highlights?
To the ones who said to yell at my stylist: this was overseas, so that's not quite an option. And although my mom and I have usually had our hair done there with satisfying results, they use a dye we're not familiar with, unfortuantely.

It sounds like I might be shampooing too much though, I'll try fixing that for a while.

And shampoos/conditioners are the only thing I splurge majorly on.
----------

Sounds like they might be over-bleached. It feels like straw on your head in the shower, right? Try using a very deep conditioner on your streaks every time, and next time stick with a colour closer to your natural colour so that they don't have to use such a strong peroxide solution.

Nothing you can do now but wait for them to grow out a bit. But you can redo them a darker colour when you get the roots redone.  (+ info)

What are good symbols of mexico for a tattoo?

I am trying to design a tattoo that encompasses my heritage. I am French, Scottish, Italian and Mexican. My design so far is an upside-down Fleur de Lys (france) with a crown of Laurels (italy) on top. I have some Ideas for Scotland, but none whatsoever for mexico. I want something that is obviously mexican but not flashy like an eagle or or just plain dumb like an aztec princess. Many thanks.
----------

I recommend you not to get the tattoo.  (+ info)
