any relation between uveitis and water retention?

I had uveitis two years ago and I've been feeling a lot of presure lately on my face and twiches on my eyes my hands feel swollen most of the time I also have a feeling of having stuffy nose most of the time could this be water retention?
----------

I don't think that Uveitis could cause this most symptoms with that are like pain in ur eyes, blurred vision, and redness. It sounds as though you are having fluid retention problems. If i were you, i would contact my doctor and see if he could put you on lasix to reduce the water weight. Hope that you get better soon! :-)  (+ info)

Iritis, or anterior uveitis, is the most common form of ocular inflammation encountered. It is a common cause of a painful red eye. Inflammation of the iris may appropriately be termed iritis, whereas inflammation of the iris and the ciliary body is called iridocyclitis. Iritis may be subdivided into 2 broad categories: granulomatous and nongranulomatous  (+ info)

Has anyone had or have a Uveitis or Iritis multiple times?

I recently was diagnosed with a Uveitis for the 2nd time, and being that is came back, my doc sugested that I see rhuemetologist because I was having stiffness in my knees and shoulders. I also recently had a baby so I'm still carrying around the baby weight and I personally think that's what made my knees and shoulders stiff. I have since lost about 30lbs and my knees and shoulders are no where near how stiff they used to be. I was on an arthritis medication, but I have been off of that for about a month now, and they still feel fine.

I'm still getting a high CRP level in my blood work at the Rhumetologists. It has come down since I first saw her, but it's still considered high.

Any suggestions or help regarding this issue would be appreciative, I just don't know if it's going to be a chronic thing I will have to deal with or what could be causing it.

Do you get cold sores inside your mouth easily, dry eyes, joint pain, elevated blood sedimation rate and how high is it.,
Have you had any genital ulcers ( not STD). breathing problems,

The reason I ask all this is uveitis is very rare and is usually related to something else. You are right about seeing the rheumatologist. The diseases related to this are usually related to rhumatology things.
There are several possibilites that come to mind, Lupus,Sjorgens, Bechet's.

I did the same thing about 9 years ago and I had a rhuematology workup, vasculitis was the diagnosis and I have 50% lung function because of the damage it caused.

Good luck, get back to me if I can help anymore
There are also web sights for the listed illness that can help alot.  (+ info)

what is uveitis and how long does it take to recover from it?

Uveitis, is commonly referred to as any inflammatory process involving the interior of the eye...
Uveitis as a disease should be regarded as incurable in the sense that it will never completely go away, but that is not to say that it can not be controlled.

i am recovering from antrerior uveitis . what should i do to prvent this from happening in future?

the doctors told me that it never really goes away.

Finding the underlying cause seems to be one answer to this. Here is information on this. I have an autoimmune disease that mimics MS and I know others that get this I probably have it as well, but no eye insurance.. Best of luck in your search for answers I have Antiphosholipid syndrome  (+ info)

Anterior Uveitis advice please?

I have had iritis many times befoe but not since 2004.
Now it's back and despite applying pred forte and mydrilate for a week, the pain is as bad as ever.
In the past it has usually responded to treatment pretty quickly..

should I worry or can it take a while to respond to treatment?
----------

Don't mess around with Uveitis. It's important to see your eye doctor right away. If you call and explain your situation you should be seen today. It's important to maintain contact with your doctor with several visits and follow ups until this is resolved.   (+ info)

how long does it takes to recovery from uveitis?

That depends on the severity. The average case can take one to two weeks, but some cases are chronic and last months. I wish I could be of more help.  (+ info)

UVEITIS can it be caused due to knee injury ( dislocation )?

i dislocated my knee in november could this have set of my uveitis as it is linked to joint problems ???
----------

Uveitis is associated with autoimmune conditions which bring on chronic inflammatory conditions such as Ankylosing Spondylitis,Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus etc. Most cases of uveitis are linked to stress. I doubt that your dislocated knee had anything to do with it.  (+ info)
