Is it normal to see double vision just before a panic attack?

I keep having these spells where my heart beats really fast and I get all shaky an short of breath and faint and all that fun. The doctor said it was panic attacks, even though I can't think of anything that would cause such a thing. Now I'm having these spells and my vision is doubling and shaking before and during these attacks! Ahhh, help!
----------

Panic attacks can cause that & many other physical symptoms, the racing heart, sweating, dizziness etc.

Do a search of panic attacks & you'll be amazed how many symptoms there are.

If you've already been checked out by your Dr. and that is what he says, then that is what it is.

The thing about panic attacks, once you have one, then you are always waiting for the next one to happen & that in itself makes you have more anxiety and it's like a vicious circle.

Getting over panic attacks is not easy as more worry only brings on more panic attacks.  (+ info)

What would blurry vision and dizziness indicate?

A family member of mine just recently (very recently) experienced those symptoms up there.
Dizziness and blurred vision.
As she was running on the treadmill, she suddenly stopped because she was feeling ill.
At that moment, her vision blurred and became light headed.
Now, she just feels bad.
Just plain bad (not a very good description, but that's how she put it).

I'm worried about her.
Any ideas as to what it might be?
Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated.

** She's not sleep deprived.

it can indicate a lot of things  (+ info)

My vision goes from great during the day to awful at night. How do I fix this?

I have better than 20/20 vision during the day, but at night (even if I'm in a well lighted room) my eyesight is just awful. Things that are perfectly clear during the day become really fuzzy to me. What does this mean? How can I fix it? I plan on getting a car soon, so this is a problem that I should probably fix sooner rather than later.

What caused my vision to go fuzzy then completely black for a few seconds?

I was at summer football camp and i went to the huddle and my vision started to get bright and fuzzy. A few seconds later i couldn't see at all! So i sat out and took my helmet off and my vision started to come back quickly. I also didn't eat breakfast and it was really hot and I hadn't had a lot of water. I'm pretty scared that something is wrong with me, but it has only happened once so far.
----------

I think that you have just explained what happened, you were probabaly dehydrated to the point where you were severely affected.

Drink plenty of fluids and this shouldnt happen again. When you are next at the doctors just mention it  (+ info)

How can I tell how bad my vision is from my contact lens prescription?

The prescription for my right eye says -5.5 and for my left it says -4.75. What does this even mean and where does this fit in with the whole 20/20 thing? I know my vision is pretty bad because without contacts or glasses I can barely recognize people from like 5+ feet away. I know to be legally blind it has to be 20/200 but how can I figure that out?
----------

there is no way to tell what your visual acuity is based on your contact lens prescription is. However, you prescription is rather high, making you myopic, meaning that things you are looking at focus in front of the retina. Without your contacts in you are probably seeing at 20/100 or even worse. Next time you see your optometrist have him/her tell you what your visual acuity is without correction, you will get a better idea talking it out with your doctor.  (+ info)

Can a child with elavated eye pressure and some deminished vision continue to participate in gymnastics?

She is 13, just diagnosed in the last 6 months, and now in the last 3 months her field vision test shows deminished vision, we have been referred to a gluacoma specialist. She has been doing gymnastics for the last 4 years and has hopes to get a college scholarship.
----------

I would defer final recommendations to the glaucoma specialist, but I would expect and prepare to hear that it's not a good idea. Activities with rapid acceleration and deceleration tend to increase inner eye pressure anyway, and gymnastices would definitely be one of those kinds of activities that involved both. She's also at a higher risk of detaching or tearing the retina- and gymnastice would raise the risk again. She may be developing diabetic retinopathy, and that would definitely put the kabosh on the gymnastics. I'm sorry, but it just doesn't look good for her to continue. But talk it over with the specialist when you see him/her. Just prepare your daughter for some possible bad news.  (+ info)

What are some ways to improve your vision?

I am 13 years old and I have 9 for a prescription, which is very very bad! I heard a lot of stories about focusing on green things and eating carrots will improve my vision but I am not sure about it. If you have any idea how to improve eyesight, please tell me!
----------

there is no way to improve your vision NATURALLY. but you can correct your vision through surgery but there are pros and CONS to laser eye surgery surgery. carrots don't help at all. they can keep your eyes from getting worse but vitamin a only helps your night vison not your overall sight. you can also think about ortho-keratology, they are contact which you can put on at night or in the day and you can see clearly for the other half of the day. it dosn't "fix" your eyesight because if you dont wear them for 2 or 3 nights, your eyesight goes back to normal. you have to wear these contacts for the rest of your life and they cost about $1000 PER contact. so it's really expensive. ortho-k contacts flatten your oval shaped cornea so you can see clearly.  (+ info)

What kindof cases/disorders would one expect to find on a Medical Endocrinology ward?

I know it is related to hormones, and there seems to be a varying amount of related disorders - from diabetes to thyroid to cancer. Are there any specific disorders in relation to Medical Endocrinology (in the UK)?
----------

Here are some examples: patients with pancreatitis, patients in diabetic coma, sent up by the ER, patients in severe hyperglycemia sent up by the ER, patients with Addisons disease (adrenal trouble), patients with severe anaphylactic reactions that has not been properly diagnosed, young girls with severe abdominal pains who tell you when you ask whether they have had sex : "No doctor I am not married!" with an innocent smile and are about to loose a 6 week embryo, patients with acute neurotoxin infections from seafood, and other sources, patients with chronic heavy metal infections: lead, arsenic , benzene compounds, patients with wrongly diagnosed epileptic seizures.....you want more, we have seen them all mate.  (+ info)
